Optical chemosensor properties of europium(III) tris(β-diketonates)

Interaction between Eu(III) tris(β-diketonates) and ammonia vapors increases the luminescence of Eu(III). A mechanism for the effect of analyte molecules on the intensification of Eu(III) luminescence is proposed. The mechanism includes the displacement of water molecules from the coordination sphere of europium(III).     

Geminal systems. 50. Solvolysis of 1-tosyloxy-Δ2-1,2,3-triazoline-5,5-dicarboxylate esters and the structure of the solvolysis product,O-tosyl-N-α,α-bis(ethoxycarbonyl)-β-methoxyethylhydroxylamine

Solvolysis of 1-tosyloxy-²-1,2,3-triazoline-5,5-dicarboxylic acid esters (1) occurs via elimination of N₂ and leads predominantly to N--hydroxylethyl-O-tosylhydroxylamines (II), whose structure was determined unequivocally by x-ray structural analysis. 1H,13C NMR spectral data for α-, β-, and γ-lewisites and identification ofcis,trans, trans-γ-lewisite as a new isomer

The¹H and¹³C NMR spectral parameters of α-, β-, and y-lewisites1–5 were obtained and a new isomer,cis,trans,trans-γ-lewisite5, was isolated and identified on the basis of chemical shifts, relative intensities of the signals, and the intra-chain (³ J _hh ,³ J _ch ) and interchain (³ J _casch ) coupling constants. Optical properties of modified Bragg fiber-optic waveguides

A modified form of optical fibers with varying cross section is proposed. A Bragg optical fiber with an additional conic layer between the core and periodic cladding is considered. Oscillating scattering of light through the side surface of such a fiber is predicted. It is shown that the optical properties of spicules of marine glass sponges Hyalonema sieboldi can be explained by the conic shape of the near-axis layer.     

Mass spectra of negative ions of nitrones and isomeric O-ethers of oximes

Conclusions Interconversion of the studied nitrones and corresponding O-ethers of oximes fails to occur during the capture of low-energy electrons, and the mass spectra of the DRCE make it possible to distinguish valence isomers of this type.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 6, pp. 1388–1391, June, 1979.
