Investigation of turbulence modification in a non-reactive two-phase flow   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In a two-phase flow the influence of a dispersed phase on the turbulence properties of a continuous phase, known as turbulence modification, is investigated. An experimental approach is discussed that is suitable for studying the decay of grid-generated turbulence in a vertically orientated wind tunnel with a cross-section large enough to avoid influences from walls. Phase Doppler anemometry is used to characterize both single and two-phase flow by measuring mean axial and radial velocity components, velocity fluctuations, turbulent kinetic energy, and integral time scales. By direct comparison of results from single- and two-phase flows, the feedback of the dispersed phase on the continuous phase can be isolated. The data is used to deduce a source term for particle-induced turbulence production appropriate for a numerical simulation of the flow, based on the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. Although of special importance for a detailed understanding of turbulent two-phase combustion, additional complexity introduced by evaporation and chemical reactions is avoided by using glass beads as dispersed phase.  相似文献

Amorphous polysiloxane nano- and microstructures with different shapes can be synthesized from trifunctional organosilane precursors. In the present study, various polysiloxane nano- and microstructures have been produced via a chemical vapor deposition process using ethyltrichlorosilane as precursor. The structure formation and shape are the result of a delicate interplay between temperature, absolute amount of water, and relative humidity. The impact of these reaction parameters during a chemical vapor deposition process has been examined. Experiments have been performed to find a correlation between the reaction conditions and the final shape. Scanning electron microscopy data show that different structures like polysiloxane microrings, microrods, sprouts, nanofilaments, and mixtures of them can be synthesized depending on the reaction conditions. Furthermore, the in-depth comparison of the nanofilament diameters illustrates the dominating influence of relative humidity on structure formation. There is a general trend that at a higher value of relative humidity, structures with a larger diameter are formed independent from the temperature. Here, we clearly differentiate between relative humidity as major and absolute amount of water and temperature as minor important adjusting screws defining the thickness and shape of the resulting nano- and microstructures. Based on these observations, we proof the mechanism of the initial step of structure formation. It is shown that nano- and micro-sized water droplets formed on the substrate surface are likely to act as starting points for structure formation. All results described here strongly confirm the recently published droplet assisted growth and shaping mechanism.  相似文献

Abstract  

Extraction of Zn(II) from aqueous solution using polymer inclusion membranes based on poly(vinyl chloride) containing the phosphonium-based ionic liquid trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride (Cyphos? IL 101) is described. Zn(II) could efficiently be extracted from 5 M hydrochloric acid solution with membranes containing 30 wt% Cyphos IL 101, whereas back-extraction was successfully achieved with 1 M sulfuric acid. Prepared membranes were evaluated in terms of stability in air as well as in terms of leaching of the ionic liquid from the membranes in aqueous solution.  相似文献

A facile synthetic route for the preparation of dicationic ethylene glycol based‐ionic liquids (ILs) via the azide/alkyne “click” reaction is presented. The copper(I) catalyzed, microwave‐assisted azide/alkyne “click” reaction between diazido‐ethylene glycols and the corresponding alkyne containing IL‐head group enables a simple preparation of different sets of poly(ethylene glycol)‐based ILs. Beside tetra‐ and hexa(ethylene glycol)‐based ILs, also oligomeric (Mn = 400 g/mol) and polymeric ILs (Mn up to 1550 g/mol) could be prepared in good yield and with full conversion of the ionic head group. The prepared ILs were extensively characterized via NMR spectroscopy and ESI‐time‐of‐flight (TOF) mass spectroscopy, revealing the formation of multiply charged ions in the negative mode. In this paper, we focus on the global existence–uniqueness and input-to-state stability of the mild solution of impulsive reaction–diffusion neural networks with infinite distributed delays. First, the model of the impulsive reaction–diffusion neural networks with infinite distributed delays is reformulated in terms of an abstract impulsive functional differential equation in Hilbert space and the local existence–uniqueness of the mild solution on impulsive time interval is proven by the Picard sequence and semigroup theory. Then, the diffusion–dependent conditions for the global existence–uniqueness and input-to-state stability are established by the vector Lyapunov function and M-matrix where the infinite distributed delays are handled by a novel vector inequality. It shows that the ISS properties can be retained for the destabilizing impulses if there are no too short intervals between the impulses. Finally, three numerical examples verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results and that the reaction–diffusion benefits the input-to-state stability of the neural-network system.

This paper considers the optimal harvesting control of a biological species, whose growth is governed by the parabolic diffusive Volterra-Lotka equation. We prove that such equation with L periodic coefficients has an unique positive periodic solution. We show the existence and uniqueness of an optimal control, and under certain conditions, we characterize the optimal control in terms of a parabolic optimality system. A monotone sequence which converges to the optimal control is constructed.  相似文献

Lanthanum doped bismuth titanate thin films (Bi3.25La0.75Ti3O12 - BLT) were produced by the polymeric precursor method and crystallized in a domestic microwave oven and in conventional furnace. Using platinum coated silicon substrates configuration, ferroelectric properties of the films were determined with remanent polarization Pr and a coercive field Ec of 3.9 μC/cm2 and 70 kV/cm for the film annealed in the microwave oven and 20 μC/cm2 and 52 kV/cm for the film annealed in conventional furnace, respectively. The films annealed in conventional furnace exhibited excellent retention-free characteristics at low infant periods indicating that BLT thin films can be a promise material for use in non-volatile memories. On the other hand, the pinning of domains wall causes a strong decay at low infant periods for the films annealed in the microwave furnace which makes undesireable the application for future FeRAMS memories.  相似文献
