The stability of C(60) fullerene particles in water affects its mobility, bioavailability, and toxicity to organisms. Natural organic matters (NOMs) have pronounced effects on the aggregation behavior of C(60) fullerene. This study was to examine the effects of NOM structural properties on the aggregation behavior of fullerene water suspension (FWS). Fulvic acid (FA), tannic acid (TA), and two structurally different humic acids (HA1 and HA7) were studied. HA1 and HA7 were sequentially extracted HAs, where HA7 was more hydrophobic than HA1 and had a higher molecular weight. Aggregation was induced by addition of varying amounts of Ca(2+) to the FWS with 2 mg/L of each NOM. The absolute value of zeta potential |ζ| of pure FWS increased after addition of any type of NOM. Addition of Ca(2+) to the FWS+NOM system decreased |ζ| of fullerene almost uniformly for all types of NOM. FWS critical coagulation concentration (CCC) was equal to 14.5, 6.5, 5.4, and 3.7 mM Ca(2+) for HA7, HA1, FA, and TA, respectively. The order of increasing CCCs was positively correlated to the NOMs molecular weight and negatively to their polarity. A nearly constant ζ for FWS+NOM system at a wide range of Ca(2+) concentrations suggested the steric stability rather than electrostatic one. This study highlighted the role of NOM in the fate of manufactured nanoparticles in the environment and linked the structural properties of NOM to their interaction with manufactured nanoparticles.  相似文献

The development of a sagittally focusing double‐multilayer monochromator is reported, which produces a spatially extended wide‐bandpass X‐ray beam from an intense synchrotron bending‐magnet source at the Advanced Photon Source, for ultrafast X‐ray radiography and tomography applications. This monochromator consists of two W/B4C multilayers with a 25 Å period coated on Si single‐crystal substrates. The second multilayer is mounted on a sagittally focusing bender, which can dynamically change the bending radius of the multilayer in order to condense and focus the beam to various points along the beamline. With this new apparatus, it becomes possible to adjust the X‐ray beam size to best match the area detector size and the object size to facilitate more efficient data collection using ultrafast X‐ray radiography and tomography.  相似文献

Cost and time overruns have been a common characteristic of development projects in many countries. This paper presents a theory of cost and time overruns based on project cost structure. The cost of a development project consists of base cost and progress cost. Base cost keeps a project ready for physical progress. Progress cost creates real physical progress on the project. This cost structure has an important inherent dynamic characteristic with implications for the efficiency and effectiveness of project management. An imbalance between annual budget and ongoing projects results in an increasing inefficiency and ineffectiveness unrelated to the quality of management of individual projects. The policy governing the starting rate of the new projects becomes very important in improving project performances. The paper also suggests some policy recommendations for commencing new projects.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical method for solving Lane‐Emden type equations, which are nonlinear ordinary differential equations on the semi‐infinite domain, is presented. The method is based upon the modified rational Bernoulli functions; these functions are first introduced. Operational matrices of derivative and product of modified rational Bernoulli functions are then given and are utilized to reduce the solution of the Lane‐Emden type equations to a system of algebraic equations. In this study, simple and efficient ultrasound‐assisted dispersive liquid‐liquid microextraction combined with gas chromatography (GC) was developed for the preconcentration and determination of methyl‐tert‐butyl ether (MTBE) in water samples. One hundred microliters of benzyl alcohol was injected slowly into 10 mL home‐designed centrifuge glass vial containing an aqueous sample with 30% (w/v) of NaCl that was located inside the ultrasonic water bath. The formed emulsion was centrifuged and 2 μL of separated benzyl alcohol was injected into a gas chromatographic system equipped with a flame ionization detector (GC‐FID) for analysis. Several factors influencing the extraction efficiency such as the nature and volume of organic solvent, extraction temperature, ionic strength and centrifugation times were investigated and optimized. Using optimum extraction conditions a detection limit of 0.05 μg L‐1 and a good linearity (r2 = 0.998) in a calibration range of 0.1‐500 μg L‐1 were achieved. This proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of MTBE in tap, well and a ground water sam ple contaminated by leaking gasoline from an underground storage tank (LUST) in a gasoline service station.  相似文献

Solid-phase extraction followed by dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (SPE-DLLME) technique has been developed as a new analytical approach for extracting, cleaning up and preconcentrating benzaldehyde, a toxic oxidation product of the widely used preservative and co-solvent benzyl alcohol, in injectable formulation solutions. SPE of benzaldehyde from samples was carried out using C18 sorbent. After the elution of benzaldehyde from the sorbent by using acetonitrile, DLLME technique was performed on the obtained solution. Benzaldehyde was preconcentrated by using DLLME technique. Thus, 1.5 mL acetonitrile extract (disperser solvent) and 55.0 µL 1,2-dichloroethane (extraction solvent) were added to 5 mL ultra pure water and a DLLME technique was applied. Several variables that govern the proposed technique were studied and optimized. Under optimum conditions, the method detection limit (LOD) of benzaldehyde calculated as three times the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) was 0.08 µg L?1. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for four replicates was 5.8 %. The calibration graph was linear within the concentration range of 0.5–500 µg L?1 for benzaldehyde. The proposed method has been successfully applied to the analysis of the benzaldehyde in injectable formulation solutions (diclofenac, vitamin B-complex and voltaren) and the relative recoveries were between 88 and 92 % and show that matrix has a negligible effect on the performance of the proposed method.  相似文献

Au nanoparticles decorated with mononuclear Ti-oxo units dispersed in silica clusters were formed by activating Au nanoparticles (~2 nm) stabilized with Ti- and amine-functionalized siloxane oligomers.
