Synthesis and antifungal activity of carvacrol and thymol esters with heteroaromatic carboxylic acids

Aiming to obtain the more effective pathogen inhibitive ingredients and explore the influence of introducing different heterocyclic units to carvacrol and thymol esters, twenty ester derivatives with different heterocyclic units were synthesized. And the in vitro antifungal activity of title compounds against five plant pathogenic fungi was evaluated by mycelium growth rate method. The results showed that some carvacrol and thymol esters showed good to excellent antifungal activity, and compound 9d (4-bromo-5-isopropyl-2-methylphenyl picolinate) exhibited a broad antifungal spectrum. Preliminary study indicated that the introduction of furan, thiophene and pyridine unit could enhance the antifungal activity of carvacrol and thymol esters against Botrytis cinerea and a bromine atom on the para position of benzene moiety could enhance their antifungal activity.     

超薄骨架有序介孔CdS/NiS的制备及光催化产氢性能

采用有序介孔氧化硅为硬模板, 通过纳米浇筑法制备了由螺旋骨架构建的有序介孔硫化镉(CdS)光 催化材料. 该光催化材料具有约5 nm厚的超薄骨架和大的比表面积(238 m²/g), 能有效缩短光催化反应中 光生电荷迁移到表面进行反应的距离并同时提供更多的反应活性位点, 从而增强光催化性能. 通过原位化学沉积法将不同量的助催化剂硫化镍(NiS)沉积到有序介孔CdS表面, 得到了一系列超薄骨架有序介孔CdS/NiS复合光催化材料. 可见光照射下的光催化产氢活性测试结果表明, 负载适量NiS的有序介孔CdS具有显著增强的光催化产氢活性(3.84 mmol?h^-1?g^-1), 约为负载相同量NiS的普通商业化CdS材料(0.22 mmol?h^-1?g^-1)的17.5倍.     

Facile synthesis of novel [1,3]oxazino[2,3-c][1,2,4] thiadiazin-12-one derivatives

Several novel fused heterocyclic systems which have rings containing N/O or N/S have been synthesized through a facile one-pot method by the treatment of substituted 2-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)phenol and cyanogen bromide in THF and NEt₃. This one-pot method contains tough ring-opening of thiazole, special intermolecular rearrangement and ring-closing reactions. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by HR-MS, ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR spectral data and DFT calculation analysis. 2a was also determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis.     

Development of three novel benzothiazole-based ratiometric fluorescent chemosensor for detecting of hydrazine in serum and gas phase via ESIPT process and different recognition sites

In this article, we have successfully designed and synthesized three novel ratiometric fluorescent probes BTP-LA, BTP-LB and BTP-LN for detection of hydrazine based on benzothiazole-derived fluorophores and different recognition sites. The probes BTP-LA, BTP-LB and BTP-LN displays a good fluorescence ratio emission signals, high selectivity and large emission shifts (>100 nm) toward hydrazine. The three probes BTP-LA, BTP-LB and BTP-LN can be used not only to detect hydrazine in serum, but also to detect gaseous hydrazine in air. More importantly, compared with probes BTP-LB and BTP-LN, BTP-LA has lower saturation concentration (200 µM) and detection limits (1.22 × 10^?7 M) to hydrazine.     

A Simple Central Seven-Membered BOPYIN: Synthesis,Structural, Spectroscopic Properties,and Cellular Imaging Application

A two-step, one-flask synthesis of central seven-membered borondifluoride-3,3-dimethyl-2-[2-(2-pyrrolyl)ethenyl] indole (BOPYIN) ligands has been developed by using the unexplored 3,3-dimethyl-2-[2-(2-pyrrolyl)ethenyl] indole. The simple synthetic approach has enabled modification of the electronic structure by changing the substituents on the indole unit. X-ray analysis indicated that conformations of the seven-membered BF₂ complex including BOPYIN and diazaborepin differ from that of the five- and six-membered organoboron complexes. Interestingly, the bond angle of the N⋅⋅⋅B−N bond increases with the number of atoms in the core ring, based on Baeyer strain theory. These unsymmetric BOPYIN derivatives have excellent photophysical properties, including high fluorescence quantum yields, except for BOPYIN- 4 in the solution state, large Stokes shifts, and good molar absorptivity. The dipole moment of BOPYIN- 3 in the first excited singlet state and ground state was demonstrated by a linear Lippert–Mataga plot. The absorption and emission spectra were not mirror images for BOPYIN- 1 – 3 and 5 , in contradiction to Kasha's rule, as determined by TDDFT. The synthesized BOPYINs have been shown to be biocompatible fluorophores in cell bioimaging.     

Cluster synchronization of linearly coupled complex networks via linear and adaptive feedback pinning controls

Cluster synchronization is investigated for complex networks via linear and adaptive feedback control strategies. It is shown that two different controllers can be designed to achieve the cluster synchronization. Unlike most existing papers, we need not nondelayed and delayed coupling matrices to be symmetric or irreducible. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.     

Antifungal activity of phenolic monoterpenes and structure-related compounds against plant pathogenic fungi

The aim of this work is to explore the possibility of using the phenolic monoterpenes (PMs) as leading compounds with antifungal activity against plant disease. The in vitro antifungal activities of carvacrol and thymol against seven kinds of plant pathogenic fungi were evaluated on mycelium growth rate method, and the results showed that carvacrol and thymol exhibited broad spectrum antifungal activity. Structure requirement for the antifungal activity of PMs was also investigated. The preliminary conclusion was that phenolic hydroxyl and monoterpene were basic structures for the antifungal activity of PMs, and the position of phenolic hydroxyl showed less effect. Ester derivatives of carvacrol and thymol were more effective than carvacrol and thymol against plant pathogenic fungi. We suggested that carvacrol, thymol and their ester derivatives could potentially be used as new fungicide leading compounds.
