Use of magnetocumulative generators in experiments on current disruption of shaped-charge jets

Results of experiments on disruption of shaped-charge jets by a pulsed current are reported. An industrially produced helical-coaxial magnetocumulative K-80 generator with transformer energy output was used as a source of energy. The operation of the generator in the experiments performed and the effect of the current-pulse parameters on jet disruption and depth of penetration of a shaped-charge jet into a target are discussed. A prototype of a high-voltage platform for the KRION ion source

A high-voltage platform that has been developed for the KRION ion source is described. The platform design concept is explained. The calculations that have been performed of the influence of the design and materials on the source magnetic field make it possible to define a range of materials suitable for manufacturing the platform. The major components of the high-voltage platform, such as a high-voltage power supplier, and decoupling insulators of the high-voltage power source, and the main and supplementary platforms, are chosen and described. It is determined that, to exclude electric breakdowns and corona discharges, one should use an electrically shielded channel with a cryocooler and power supplies for the KRION-source coupling cables.     

Orientational optical nonlinearity of nematic liquid crystals induced by high-molecular-mass azo-containing compounds

Processes of light-induced reorientation of nematic liquid-crystalline molecules induced by the addition of low concentrations (0.1–2.0 wt %) of comb-shaped polymers and carbosilane dendrimers containing azobenzene fragments are studied. When the molecular structure of the above compounds becomes more complicated, the induced orientational nonlinearity increases. The introduction of 2G and 3G dendrimers into a nematic has for the first time made it possible to visualize and study a purely optical first-order Freedericksz transition in the field of a linearly polarized wave.     

The finite-element simulation of low-frequency bimorph transducers for the diagnostics and activation of oil wells

Through the developed technique, the finite-element optimization and the experimental validation of the construction and parameters of low-frequency bimorph piezoelectric transducers designed for the diagnostics and activation of oil wells are carried out.     

Electromagnetically induced transparency of magnetic nanoclusters under the action of a two-frequency pump field

The effect of electromagnetically induced transparency arising in a crystal of Fe₈ magnetic molecules under the action of a two-frequency pump field is investigated theoretically. The problem of selecting the polarizations of resonance magnetic fields acting on the crystal is discussed. The results of numerical calculation of the magnetic susceptibility are presented.
