A new family of distorted ribbon-shaped nanographenes was designed, synthesized, and their optical and electrochemical properties were evaluated, pointing out an unprecedented correlation between their structural characteristics and the two-photon absorption (TPA) responses and electrochemical band gaps. Three nanographene ribbons have been prepared: a seven-membered-ring-containing nanographene presenting a tropone moiety at the edge, its full-carbon analogue, and a purely hexagonal one. We have found that the TPA cross-sections and the electrochemical band gaps of the seven-membered-ring-containing compounds are higher and lower, respectively, than those of the fully hexagonal polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH). Interestingly, the inclusion of additional curvature has a positive effect in terms of non-linear optical properties of those ribbons.  相似文献

In this work, the isolation step in the linear ion trap was performed using different “q values” conditions at a low collision-induced dissociation (CID) energy leading to the parent ion resolution improvements, reasonably due to better ion energy distribution. According to the results, we obtained a greater resolution and mass accuracy operating in both traditional electrospray and low voltage ionization near the q value = 0.778 and with a CID energy of 10%. This effect was evaluated with low-molecular-mass compounds (skatole and arginine). The proposed optimization yielded a superior instrument performance without adding technological complexity to mass spectrometry analyses.  相似文献

This Minireview provides a critical analysis of the success factors and of the main obstacles that had to be overcome on the long way from the discovery to the commercialization of gold catalysts. Theoretical calculations at the MP2 level, NBO and AIM analysis, and matrix-isolation infrared spectroscopy have been used to investigate the structure of the isolated molecule of 1,4-butanediol (1,4-BDO). Sixty-five structures were found to be minima on the potential energy surface, and the three most stable forms are characterized by a folded backbone conformation leading to the formation of an intramolecular H-bond. To better characterize the intramolecular interactions and particularly the hydrogen bonds, natural bond orbital analysis (NBO) was performed for the four most stable conformers, and was further complemented with an atoms-in-molecules (AIM) topological analysis. Infrared spectra of 1,4-BDO isolated in low-temperature argon and xenon matrixes show a good agreement with a population-weighted mean theoretical spectrum, and the spectral features of the conformers expected to be trapped in the matrixes were observed experimentally. Annealing the xenon matrix from 20 to 60 K resulted in significant spectral changes, which were interpreted based on the barriers to intramolecular rotation. An estimation of the intramolecular hydrogen bond energy was carried out following three different methodologies.  相似文献

A unique rippled nanographene consisting of 52 fused rings is presented in which six out‐of‐plane motifs are fully fused into a triangular aromatic surface with a size of approximately 2.5 nm. Three units of an unprecedented fully lateral π‐extended octabenzo[5]helicene together with three units of saddle‐shaped heptagonal rings are combined in a single structure, leading to a well‐soluble warped nanographene. The two diastereomeric pairs of possible enantiomers were isolated, and their linear, non‐linear, and chiroptical properties were evaluated, revealing outstanding quantum yield and brightness values at low energy, together with good chiroptical responses in both absorption and emission.  相似文献

In a classical 1986 paper by Erdös, Saks and Saós every graph of radius r has an induced path of order at least 2r ? 1. This result implies that the independence number of such graphs is at least r. In this paper, we use a result of S. Fajtlowicz about radius-critical graphs to characterize graphs where the independence number is equal to the radius, for all possible values of the radius except 2, 3, and 4. In this study, the thermal behavior of butanediol isomers is investigated for temperatures ranging from 103 to 303 K using differential scanning calorimetry, complemented, when necessary, by polarized light thermal microscopy. The butanediol isomers display quite different thermal behaviors: for 1,2- and 1,3-isomers, glass transition is the only thermal event observed; for 1,4-butanediol, crystallization occurs on cooling even at a high scanning rate and no glass formation was detected; and for the 2,3-isomer, glass or crystal formation is dependent on the experimental conditions employed. The glass-forming ability of the isomers is correlated with data available on their molecular symmetry.  相似文献

Novel sandwich-type phthalocyanines containing a rare earth metal core (Pr, Nd, Eu-Lu) and macrocycles peripherally substituted by pentadecylphenoxy groups were synthesized using a cardanol-based phthalonitrile precursor and the respective lanthanide acetate. Additionally, the metal free-base analog compound was studied for comparison. The purified reaction products were all found to be thick and viscous substances at room temperature, showing liquid crystalline behavior with a distinct increase in fluidity at ca. 40 °C. The complexes are readily soluble in chloroalkyl solvents and dissolve fairly well in DMF with some tendency to form aggregates. Besides they are strongly hydrophobic and reveal a peculiar affinity for lipophilic media. The compounds have been characterized by UV-Vis (absorption and emission), FTIR, MS and DSC methods. Photochemical activity in the liquid phase (dimethylformamide, dichloromethane, mineral oil) and the degree of photodegradation demonstrated under constant UV-irradiation (λ = 352 nm) have been analyzed and discussed in terms of photostability.  相似文献
