An ultrasound-assisted nanoscaled supramolecular coordination polymer (nanosized 1′ ) has been synthesized using a self-assembly reaction of K3[Cu (CN)4] and hexamethylenetetramine in the presence of Me3SnCl under ambient conditions. Nanosized 1′ was examined using elemental analysis, Fourier transform–infrared, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray powder diffractions. It was structurally compared with the single crystal supramolecular coordination polymer ∞3[Cu6(CN)7(C6H12N4)2(OH3)]; SCP 1. The photocatalytic activities of nanosized 1′ and SCP 1 toward different hazardous organic dyes were determined under ambient, UV-light irradiation and ultrasonic conditions. SCP 1 and nanosized 1′ as heterogeneous nanoparticles catalysts exhibited high catalytic activity for degradation of Congo Red, Methyl Violet 2B and Methylene Blue dyes. The effects of operational parameters on catalytic degradation process, identification of the degradation products and recycling of the catalyst were also investigated. SCP 1 and nanosized 1′ are recyclable heterogeneous catalysts and can be reused with efficient activities. The mechanism of degradation using different scavenger techniques iss proposed and discussed. The catalytic oxidation process is mainly caused by •OH radicals. 相似文献

Platinum metal complexes are the most common chemotherapeutics currently used in cancer treatment. However, the frequent adverse effects, as well as acquired resistance by tumor cells, urge the development of effective alternatives. In the recent past, copper complexes with Schiff base ligands have emerged as good alternatives, showing interesting results. Accordingly, and in continuation of previous studies in this area, three new camphoric acid-derived halogenated salen ligands and their corresponding Cu (II) complexes were synthesized and their antitumor activity was evaluated in order to determine the influence of the type and number of halogens present (Br, Cl). The in vitro cytotoxic activity was screened against colorectal WiDr and LS1034 and against breast MCF-7 and HCC1806 cancer cell lines. The results proved the halogenated complexes to be very efficient, the tetrachlorinated Cu (II) complex being the most promising, presenting IC50 of 0.63–1.09 μM for the cell lines studied. The complex also shows selectivity to colorectal cancer cells compared to non-tumor colon cells. It is worth highlighting that the tetrachlorinated Cu (II) complex, our most efficient complex, shows a significantly more powerful antitumor effect than the reference drugs currently used in conventional chemotherapy. The halogenated salen and corresponding complexes were also screened for their antimicrobial activity against four bacterial species-Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa-and four fungal species-Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Aspergillus fumigatus and Alternaria alternata. The compounds were found to exhibit moderate to strong antibacterial activity against the bacterial strains studied. NMR studies and theoretical calculations provided some insight into the structure of the ligands and copper complexes. Considering the results presented herein, our work validates the potential use of copper-based chemotherapeutics as alternatives for cancer treatment. 相似文献

A new series of transition-metal complexes of Schiff base ligand containing the amino mercapto triazole moiety ( HL ) was prepared. The Schiff base and its metal complexes were elucidated by different spectroscopic techniques (infrared [IR], 1H nuclear magnetic resonance, UV–Visible, mass, and electron spin resonance [ESR]), and magnetic moment and thermal studies. Quantum chemical calculations have been carried out to study the structure of the ligand and some of its complexes. The IR spectra showed that the ligand is chelated with the metal ion in a neutral, tridentate, and bidentate manner using NOS and NO donors in complexes 1 – 6 , 10–12 , and 7 and 8 , respectively, whereas it behaves in a monobasic tridentate fashion using NOS donor sites in copper(II) nitrate complex ( 9 ). The magnetic moment and electronic spectra data revealed octahedral and square pyramidal geometries for complexes 2 , 11 , 12 , and 5 – 8 and 10 , respectively. However, the other complexes were found to have tetrahedral ( 4 ), trigonal bipyramidal ( 1 and 3 ), and square planar ( 9 ) structures. Thermal studies revealed that the chelates with different crystallized solvents undergo different types of interactions and the decomposition pathway ended with the formation of metal oxygen (MO) and metal sulfur (MS) as final products. The ESR spectrum of copper(II) complex 10 is axial in nature with hyperfine splitting with 2B1g as a ground state. By contrast, complexes 7 and 8 undergo distortion around the Cu(II) center, affording rhombic ESR spectra. The HL ligand and some of its complexes were screened against two bacterial species. Data showed that complex 12 demonstrated a better antibacterial activity than HL ligand and other chelates. 相似文献

Tyrosyl-DNA phosphodiesterase 1 (Tdp1) is a promising target for anticancer therapy due to its ability to counter the effects topoisomerase 1 (Top1) poison, such as topotecan, thus, decreasing their efficacy. Compounds containing adamantane and monoterpenoid residues connected via 1,2,4-triazole or 1,3,4-thiadiazole linkers were synthesized and tested against Tdp1. All the derivatives exhibited inhibition at low micromolar or nanomolar concentrations with the most potent inhibitors having IC50 values in the 0.35–0.57 µM range. The cytotoxicity was determined in the HeLa, HCT-116 and SW837 cancer cell lines; moderate CC50 (µM) values were seen from the mid-teens to no effect at 100 µM. Furthermore, citral derivative 20c, α-pinene-derived compounds 20f, 20g and 25c, and the citronellic acid derivative 25b were found to have a sensitizing effect in conjunction with topotecan in the HeLa cervical cancer and colon adenocarcinoma HCT-116 cell lines. The ligands are predicted to bind in the catalytic pocket of Tdp1 and have favorable physicochemical properties for further development as a potential adjunct therapy with Top1 poisons. 相似文献

Infrared (IR) absorption in the 1000–3700 cm−1 range and 1H NMR spectroscopy reveal the existence of an asymmetric protonated water trimer, H7+O3, in acetonitrile. The core H7+O3 motif persists in larger protonated water clusters in acetonitrile up to at least 8 water molecules. Quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) molecular dynamics (MD) simulations reveal irreversible proton transport promoted by propagating the asymmetric H7+O3 structure in solution. The QM/MM calculations allow for the successful simulation of the measured IR absorption spectra of H7+O3 in the OH stretch region, which reaffirms the assignment of the H7+O3 spectra to a hybrid-complex structure: a protonated water dimer strongly hydrogen-bonded to a third water molecule with the proton exchanging between the two possible shared-proton Zundel-like centers. The H7+O3 structure lends itself to promoting irreversible proton transport in presence of even one additional water molecule. We demonstrate how continuously evolving H7+O3 structures may support proton transport within larger water solvates. 相似文献

Besides human red blood cells (RBC), a standard model used in AFM-single cell force spectroscopy (SCFS), little is known about apparent Young’s modulus (Ea) or adhesion of animal RBCs displaying distinct cellular features. To close this knowledge gap, we probed chicken, horse, camel, and human fetal RBCs and compared data with human adults serving as a repository for future studies. Additionally, we assessed how measurements are affected under physiological conditions (species-specific temperature in autologous plasma vs. 25 °C in aqueous NaCl solution). In all RBC types, Ea decreased with increasing temperature irrespective of the suspension medium. In mammalian RBCs, adhesion increased with elevated temperatures and scaled with reported membrane sialic acid concentrations. In chicken only adhesion decreased with higher temperature, which we attribute to the lower AE-1 concentration allowing more membrane undulations. Ea decreased further in plasma at every test temperature, and adhesion was completely abolished, pointing to functional cell enlargement by adsorption of plasma components. This halo elevated RBC size by several hundreds of nanometers, blunted the thermal input, and will affect the coupling of RBCs with the flowing plasma. In order to preserve the physical properties of the flow (scaling laws, conservation laws, …) during the simulation, a class of subgrid models respecting the symmetry group of the Navier–Stokes equations is built. The class is then refined such that models satisfy the second law of thermodynamics and are suited to take into account the inverse energy cascade. The in situ formed Ti(IV) complexes of pyrrolidine-based chiral salen ligands derived from natural l-tartaric acid were evaluated as catalysts in the enantioselective trimethylsilylcyanation of aromatic aldehydes. The different activity and selectivity of the catalysts in the formation of the products were found to be dependent on the N-substituent of the pyrrolidine. 相似文献
