A mild and efficient oxidation of alcohols with o-iodoxybenzoic acid (IBX) catalyzed by beta-cyclodextrin in a water/acetone mixture (86:14) has been developed. A series of alcohols were oxidized at room temperature in excellent yields.  相似文献

Fourier transform Raman spectra of eight mixtures of four organic solids, namely dicyandiamide, melamine, acetamide and urea were measured. Matrices formed from these spectra were first subjected to singular value decomposition to obtain the right singular vectors. The right singular vectors were then subjected to blind source separation using band-target entropy minimization (BTEM), thus no a priori information (i.e. involving the nature of the components present, their spectra, nor their concentrations) was included in the analysis. The recovered pure component spectra are of exceptionally high quality and are consistent with pure reference spectra. Various empirical and statistical tests, such as the Euclidean norm and target transform factor analysis, were employed to assess the quality of the recovered spectra. The present results indicate the applicability of combined Raman and BTEM analysis for solid mixtures.  相似文献

Aromatic acetals have been deprotected to the corresponding aldehydes under biomimetic conditions for the first time using beta-cyclodextrin in water under neutral conditions, thereby overcoming many of the drawbacks associated with earlier methodologies. Properties of PtRu nanoparticles prepared using high-intensity sonochemistry are reported. Syntheses were carried out in tetrahydrofuran (THF) containing Ru3+ and Pt4+ in a fixed mole ratio of either 1:10 or 1:1. X-ray diffraction measurements confirmed sonocation produces an alloy phase and showed that the composition of the nanometer scale metal particles is close to the mole fraction of Ru3+ and Pt4+ in solution with deviations that tend toward Ru enrichment in the alloy phase. The materials gave responses that are similar in terms of peak potential and current density, referenced to the catalyst active surface area, to those of bulk alloys in voltammetry experiments involving CO stripping and CH3OH electrochemical oxidation in 0.1 M H2SO4. The results show that sonochemical methods have the potential to produce nanometer scale bimetallic electrocatalysts that possess alloy properties. The materials have application in mechanistic studies of fuel cell reactions and as platforms for the development of CO tolerant fuel cell catalyst.  相似文献

The adsorption of NO and CO was studied on an alumina-supported palladium catalyst by in situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy (DRIFTS). The temperature range was 50-160 degrees C and a wide variety of partial pressures was used. The band-target entropy minimization (BTEM) algorithm was applied to the DRIFTS data sets resulting in the pure component spectra of numerous species adsorbed on both the Pd (primarily a variety of Pd-CO and Pd-NO species, in various oxidation states and coordinations) and alumina surface species (i.e. nitrates, nitrites, carbonates, bicarbonates, formates, and isocyanates) as well as gas phase species. Twenty seven previously known species were identified as well as three new and previously unreported or previously unassigned spectra. The present study indicates that BTEM can be meaningfully applied to Pd/Al2O3 DRIFTS in order to provide enhanced spectroscopic analysis. Moreover, the present results are compared in detail with the recent BTEM analysis of CO and NO adsorption on Pt/Al2O3 using DRIFTS (Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 2008, 10, 3535).  相似文献
