A series of boron-containing lipids were prepared by reactions of cyclic oxonium derivatives of polyhedron boranes and metallacarboranes (closo-dodecaborate anion, cobalt and iron bis(dicarbollides)) with amine and carboxylic acids which are derived from cholesterol. Stable liposomal formulations, on the basis of synthesized boron-containing lipids, hydrogenated soybean l -α-phosphatidylcholine and (HSPC) 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[methoxy(polyethylene glycol)-2000] (DSPE-PEG) as excipients, were prepared and then characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS) that revealed the formation of particles to be smaller than 200 nm in diameter. The resulting liposomal formulations showed moderate to excellent loading and entrapment efficiency, thus justifying the design of the compounds to fit in the lipid bilayer and ensuring ease of in vivo use for future application. The liposomal formulations based on cobalt and iron bis(dicarbollide)-based lipids were found to be nontoxic against both human breast normal epithelial cells MCF-10A and human breast cancer cells MCF-7. 相似文献

Herein, we report a Mott-Schottky catalyst by entrapping cobalt nanoparticles inside the N-doped graphene shell (Co@NC). The Co@NC delivered excellent oxygen evolution activity with an overpotential of merely 248 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm–2 with promising long-term stability. The importance of Co encapsulated in NC has further been demonstrated by synthesizing Co nanoparticles without NC shell. The synergy between the hexagonal close-packed (hcp) and face-centered cubic (fcc) Co plays a major role to improve the OER activity, whereas the NC shell optimizes the electronic structure, improves the electron conductivity, and offers a large number of active sites in Co@NC. The density functional theory calculations have revealed that the hcp Co has a dominant role in the surface reaction of electrocatalytic oxygen evolution, whereas the fcc phase induces the built-in electric field at the interfaces with N-doped graphene to accelerate the H+ ion transport. 相似文献

Herein, we report a facile method for synthesizing MoCo-layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets employing Prussian blue analog (PBA) as the precursor. The introduction of Mo in Co-LDH modulates the electronic structure, increases the number of active sites and electrochemical surface area to improve the hydrogen evolution, oxygen evolution, and overall water splitting activity. As a result, PBA-derived Mo0.25Co0.75-LDH nanosheets demonstrated 10 mA cm?2 current density at only 220 mV and 115 mV overpotentials for OER and HER, respectively. Organometallic metal(arene) anticancer agents require ligand exchange for their anticancer activity and this is generally believed to confer low selectivity for potential cellular targets. However, using an integrated proteomics-based target-response profiling approach as a potent hypothesis-generating procedure, we found an unexpected target selectivity of a ruthenium(arene) pyridinecarbothioamide (plecstatin) for plectin, a scaffold protein and cytolinker, which was validated in a plectin knock-out model in vitro. Plectin targeting shows potential as a strategy to inhibit tumor invasiveness as shown in cultured tumor spheroids while oral administration of plecstatin-1 to mice reduces tumor growth more efficiently in the invasive B16 melanoma than in the CT26 colon tumor model. 相似文献

Habenaria edgeworthii Hook. f. ex Collett is an important terrestrial orchid used in different Ayurvedic formulations. In the present study, variations among morphological, phytochemical and molecular markers were assessed. A significant difference was observed among populations using morphological traits. Inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) data revealed lower genetic diversity at population level (He = 0.207) as compared to species level (He = 0.334). Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) indicates 74 % variation among populations and 26 % within population. Tuber extracts showed significantly (p < 0.05) higher total phenolics and flavonoids among the populations. Antioxidant activity determined by 2,2′-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays exhibited considerable antioxidant potential. Furthermore, the associations between molecular and morphological and phytochemical attributes were studied using multiple regression analysis (MRA). Several ISSR fragments were associated with some morphological and phytochemical traits. These ISSR fragments can be useful for breeding programme of the species when no other genetic information, such as linkage maps and quantitative trait loci, is available. 相似文献

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) may become ideal reinforcing materials for high-performance nano-composites due their exceptional
properties. Still, much work is needed to be done before the potentials of CNT based composites can be fully realized. The
evaluation of effective material properties of nano-composites is one of many difficult tasks. Simulations using continuum
mechanics approach can play a significant role in the analysis of these composites. In the present work, nonlinear heat conduction
analysis of CNT based composites has been carried out using continuum mechanics approach. Element free Galerkin method has
been applied as a numerical tool. Thermal conductivities of nanotube and polymer matrix are assumed to vary quadratically
with temperature. Picard and quasi-linearization schemes have been utilized to obtain the solution of a system of nonlinear
equations. Cylindrical representative volume element has been used to evaluate the thermal properties of nano-composites.
Present simulations show that the temperature dependent matrix thermal conductivity has a significant effect on the equivalent
thermal conductivity of the composite, whereas temperature dependent nanotube thermal conductivity has a small effect on the
equivalent thermal conductivity of the composite. The results obtained by Picard method have been found almost similar with

This article describes synthesis, characterization and properties of blends of benzoxazine (Bz) monomers, i.e., m-alkylphenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzoxazine (Bz-C), 6,6′-(propane-2,2-diyl)bis(3-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzoxazine (Bz-A) and 3-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-benzoxazine-p-carboxylic acid (Bz-pA). Binary blends of Bz-C with Bz-pA, and Bz-A with Bz-pA were prepared by first synthesizing Bz-C or Bz-A followed by the addition of all the ingredients of Bz-pA. In a similar manner, ternary blends of Bz-C, Bz-A and Bz-pA were prepared by first synthesizing Bz-C and subsequent addition of all the ingredients of Bz-A and Bz-pA in one pot. The Bz monomer blends were characterized by 1H-NMR, FTIR spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. The temperature of onset of curing (T o), due to ring-opening polymerization of Bz was found to decrease significantly by incorporation of carboxyl groups (Bz-pA) showing thereby the catalytic effect of acid functionality. Bz polymers showed good thermal stability and incorporation of Bz-pA in blends resulted in a highly cross-linked network. The interlaminar shear strength of glass fabric reinforced composites and the lap shear strength of metal–metal joints using these resin blends was also investigated. 相似文献
