Two yellow bis-azo dyes containing anthracene and two azodiphenylether groups (BPA and BTA) were prepared, and an extensive investigation of their physical, thermal and biological properties was carried out. The chemical structure was confirmed by the FTIR spectra, while from the UV–Vis spectra, the quantum efficiency of the laser fluorescence at the 476.5 nm was determined to be 0.33 (BPA) and 0.50 (BTA). The possible transitions between the energy levels of the electrons of the chemical elements were established, identifying the energies and the electronic configurations of the levels of transition. Both crystals are anisotropic, the optical phenomenon of double refraction of polarized light (birefringence) taking place. Images of maximum illumination and extinction were recorded when the crystals of the bis-azo compounds rotated by 90° each, which confirms their birefringence. A morphologic study of the thin films deposited onto glass surfaces was performed, proving the good adhesion of both dyes. By thermal analysis and calorimetry, the melting temperatures were determined (~224–225 °C for both of them), as well as their decomposition pathways and thermal effects (enthalpy variations during undergoing processes); thus, good thermal stability was exhibited. The interaction of the two compounds with collagen in the suede was studied, as well as their antioxidant activity, advocating for good chemical stability and potential to be safely used as coloring agents in the food industry.  相似文献

Two types of graphene oxide-TiO2 composites were prepared: one by including graphene oxide flakes in the TiO2 sol, followed by thermal treatment (GI composite) at 300°C, and the second by including graphene oxide flakes in the calcined (at 500°C) TiO2 xerogel (GII composite). The composites were characterized by SEM, TEM-EDS, TEM-SADP, STEM-HAADF, HRTEM coupled with FT, XRD, and XPS. Photocatalysis results were fitted to different kinetic models (pseudo-first and pseudo-second kinetics, intraparticle Weber-Morris diffusion, film diffusion, and external mass transfer). The results showed that by introducing graphene oxide flakes in the TiO2 sol, followed by thermal treatment at 300°C (GI composite), an efficient graphene oxide-TiO2 catalyst with high specific surface area, heterogeneity, and many graphitized areas can be obtained. Complete crystallization of the composite is not the key issue for the best photoactivity achievement. The rate limiting step in the photocatalytic process is the photooxidation of SA molecules on the TiO2 surface.  相似文献

Food safety and quality control pose serious issues to food industry and public health domains, in general, with direct effects on consumers. Any physical, chemical, or biological unexpected or unidentified food constituent may exhibit harmful effects on people and animals from mild to severe reactions. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), unsafe foodstuffs are especially dangerous for infants, young children, elderly, and chronic patients. It is imperative to continuously develop new technologies to detect foodborne pathogens and contaminants in order to aid the strengthening of healthcare and economic systems. In recent years, peptide-based sensors gained much attention in the field of food research as an alternative to immuno-, apta-, or DNA-based sensors. This review presents an overview of the electrochemical biosensors using peptides as molecular bio-recognition elements published mainly in the last decade, highlighting their possible application for rapid, non-destructive, and in situ analysis of food samples. Comparison with peptide-based optical and piezoelectrical sensors in terms of analytical performance is presented. Methods of foodstuffs pretreatment are also discussed.  相似文献

The theoretical study of chrysanthemin (cyanidin 3-glucoside) as a pigment for TiO2-based dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) was performed with the GAUSSSIAN 09 simulation. The electronic spectra of neutral and anionic chrysanthemin molecules were calculated by density functional theory with B3LYP functional and DGDZVP basis set. A better energy level alignment was found for partially deprotonated molecules of chrysanthemin, with the excited photoelectron having enough energy in order to be transferred to the conduction band of TiO2 semiconductor in DSSCs. In addition, we used the raw aqueous extracts of roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) calyces as the source of chrysanthemin and the extracts with various pH values were tested in DSSCs. The extracts and photosensitized semiconductor layers were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, and DSSCs based on raw extracts were characterized by current density-voltage measurements.  相似文献

Based on an analysis of second-order hydrodynamic forces induced by coupling of first-order wave potentials, second-order hydroelastic equations are established and solved in the frequency domain. The responses of a very large floating structure in multidirectional irregular waves are studied. The characteristics of the difference and sum frequency coordinates are discussed in detail; peaks can be found at the difference and sum frequencies close to the wet resonant frequencies of each mode. We present and analyze the maximum vertical displacement of different points as well as the time history of the vertical displacements of selected points. The differences of the combined (the summation of the linear and non-linear responses) and linear displacements of the selected points are calculated. Our results demonstrate that non-linear fluid forces influence the total responses of the referenced floating structure.  相似文献

The azo-ester, namely 4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenyl 2-furoate (PPF) by a coupling reaction between 4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenol and 2-furoyl chloride in the presence of pyridine was obtained. For characterization of this compound UV–Vis, FTIR, and thermal analysis were used. PPF was investigated as corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in saline waters using potentiodynamic polarization. Morphology of the surface before and after corrosion was examined by optical microscopy. Potentiodynamic polarization shows that the corrosion current densities decrease and values of polarization resistance and inhibition efficiency increase with PPF concentration reaching a maximum of 89.6 %, at 0.1 mmol L?1.  相似文献

Dental pulp vitality is a desideratum for preserving the health and functionality of the tooth. In certain clinical situations that lead to pulp exposure, bioactive agents are used in direct pulp-capping procedures to stimulate the dentin-pulp complex and activate reparative dentinogenesis. Hydraulic calcium-silicate cements, derived from Portland cement, can induce the formation of a new dentin bridge at the interface between the biomaterial and the dental pulp. Odontoblasts are molecularly activated, and, if necessary, undifferentiated stem cells in the dental pulp can differentiate into odontoblasts. An extensive review of literature was conducted on MedLine/PubMed database to evaluate the histological outcomes of direct pulp capping with hydraulic calcium-silicate cements performed on animal models. Overall, irrespective of their physico-chemical properties and the molecular mechanisms involved in pulp healing, the effects of cements on tertiary dentin formation and pulp vitality preservation were positive. Histological examinations showed different degrees of dental pulp inflammatory response and complete/incomplete dentin bridge formation during the pulp healing process at different follow-up periods. Calcium silicate materials have the ability to induce reparative dentinogenesis when applied over exposed pulps, with different behaviors, as related to the animal model used, pulpal inflammatory responses, and quality of dentin bridges.  相似文献

The TiO2 powders were synthesized by versatile and low cost sol–gel process using HNO3 and titanium tetra-isopropoxide (volumetric ratio of 4:1) following by the hydrolysis reaction. The powders show the two polymorphs of TiO2: 96 % anatase and 4 % brookite, due to acidic condition (pH = 3). Thin films of titanium oxide were obtained by dip-coating, using the sol–gel of titanium oxide mixed with commercial Degussa P25 into a weight ratio 1:1 or 1:1.5, to enhance the synergistic effect of anatase/rutile ratio aiming at increasing the efficiency of the TiO2 photocatalyst in dyes degradation. The thin film surface (charge and morphology) was controlled by polymer (poly-ethylene glycol) and surfactant (Sodium dodecyl sulphate, Triton X100) addition. The titanium oxide was characterized by particle size analyzer, contact angle measurements, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy. The photocatalytic properties of powders and coatings were evaluated based on the degradation efficiency of two reference dyes (methyl orange and methylene blue). The results outline that poly(ethylene glycol) and films morphologies are the most influential factors that affecting the photocatalytic activity.  相似文献
