An Organotrifluoroborate for Broadly Applicable One‐Step 18F‐Labeling

A new zwitterionic organotrifluoroborate is appended to three radiosynthons that afford undergo facile bioconjugation to several clinically relevant peptides and one enzyme inhibitor. Molecularly complex bioconjugates are ¹⁸F‐labeled in a single aqueous step in rapid time (<15 min) without HPLC purification to afford tracers in good yields (>200 mCi, 20–40 %) at high specific activity (≥3 Ci/μmol) and at >98 % purity. PET imaging shows in vivo stability and tumor uptake.     

Electrochemical synthesis of copper sulfide nanoparticles

Cu₂S nanoparticles were electrosynthesized by cyclic voltammetry between 0.10 and 1.50 V in the presence of polyvinylalcohol as stabilizer. The structure and nature of the resulting Cu₂S poly (vinyl alcohol) composite were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results show that electrochemically synthesized Cu₂S nanoparticles are homogeneously dispersed and well separated from one another with a mean diameter of about 12 nm.     

Determination of Cysteine at Bismuth Nanostructure – Carbon Ionic Liquid Electrode by Square Wave Voltammetry

Bismuth nanostructure‐carbon ionic liquid electrode has been employed for sensitive determination of cysteine (Cys). Bismuth nanostructure was incorporated into the carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE) and applied for determination of cysteine. An interaction was taking place between bismuth nanostructure and the thiol group of cysteine. The bismuth cysteinate complex oxidation potential occurred at more negative potential compared to the cysteine oxidation peak obtained at bare carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE). Square wave voltammetry (SWV) was used for the determination of the cysteine and satisfactory results were obtained. The calibration curve was linear in the concentration range of 1 to 500 µM and 0.5–2 mM of Cys. A low detection limit of 0.5 µM was achieved for Cys. The electrode showed a good selectivity for determination of cysteine in the presence of other amino acids. The proposed electrode was satisfactory applied for the determination of cysteine in human serum plasma sample.     

Synthesis of polysubstituted furans via a novel and efficient heterocyclization approach

A new catalyst-free, one-pot synthesis of polysubstituted furans is reported. A series of [4-(4-aryl)-5-(cyclohexylamino)-2-(pyridin-2-yl)furan-3-yl](pyridin-2-yl)methanones was synthesized via multicomponent reaction of 1,3-di(pyridin-2-yl)propane-1,3-dione, aryl aldehydes, and cyclohexyl isocyanide.
