The copper‐mediated atom transfer radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in 1,1,1,3,3,3‐hexafluoro‐2‐propanol (HFIP) was studied to simultaneously control the molecular weight and tacticity. The polymerization using tris[2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl]amine (Me6TREN) as a ligand was performed even at ?78°C with a number‐average molecular weight (Mn) of 13,400 and a polydispersity (weight‐average molecular weight/number‐average molecular weight) of 1.31, although the measured Mn's were much higher than the theoretical ones. The addition of copper(II) bromide (CuBr2) apparently affected the early stage of the polymerization; that is, the polymerization could proceed in a controlled manner under the condition of [MMA]0/[methyl α‐bromoisobutyrate]0/[CuBr]0/[CuBr2]0/[Me6TREN]0 = 200/1/1/0.2/1.2 at ?20°C with an MMA/HFIP ratio of 1/4 (v/v). For the field desorption mass spectrum of CuIBr/Me6TREN in HFIP, there were [Cu(Me6TREN)Br]+ and [Cu(Me6TREN)OCH(CF3)2]+, indicating that HFIP should coordinate to the CuI/Me6TREN complex. The syndiotacticity of the obtained poly(methyl methacrylate)s increased with the decreasing polymerization temperature; the racemo content was 84% for ?78°C, 77% for ?30°C, 75% for ?20°C, and 63% for 30°C. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The number of perfect rnatchings for the linear 2 × 2 ×n cubic lattice was analytically derived by diagonalizing the skew—symmetric 4n × 4n determinant, whose non—zero off—diagonal elements are either ±1 or ±i (pure imaginary number). The reaction of bis(2-bromoethyl)selenium dibromide (1a) with 1,5-hexadiene (2) in methanol or ethanol affords 2,5-bis(alkoxymethyl)tetrahydroselenophene-1,1-dibromides (R = CH3 (3b), R = C2H5 (3c)) via 2,5-bis(bromomethyl)tetrahydroselenophene-1,1-dibromide (3a). The reaction of 1a with 2 in 1-propanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol or 1-butanol in the presence of sodium carbonate gave 2,5-bis(alkoxymethyl)tetrahydroselenophene (R = C3H7 (4a), R = (CH3)2CHCH2 (4b) and R = C4H9 (4c)) via 3a. The ratios of the trans and cis isomers of 3a–3c are 3:2. In addition, the structure of trans-2,5-bis(methoxymethyl)tetrahydroselenophene-1,1-dibromide (trans-3b) was determined by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Two new copper(II) compounds of chloranilate and 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine have been synthesized, and the structures have been solved by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The crystal structure of [[Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)][Cu(CA)(2)]](n)(1), where H(2)CA = chloranilic acid and terpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine, consists of two modules, the dimer unit [Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)](2+) and the anionic mononuclear unit [Cu(CA)(2)](2)(-), forming an alternated chain. The chain is stabilized by semicoordinating and additional but efficient secondary bonding interactions. The crystal structure of [[Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)(dmso)(2)][Cu(CA)(2)(dmso)(2)](EtOH)](n)(2), where dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide, consists of solvent molecules and two discrete modules, the dimer unit [Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)(dmso)(2)](2+) and the anionic mononuclear unit [Cu(CA)(2)(dmso)(2)](2)(-). The dimer units form a layer by secondary bonding interactions, and the monomer units and ethanol molecules are introduced between the layers. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 have been investigated in the temperature range 2.0-300 K. A weak ferromagnetic interaction was observed in 1, J(a) = 2.36 cm(-)(1) and zJ(b) = -0.68 cm(-)(1) while no exchange coupling was observed in 2.  相似文献

An efficient solution‐phase synthesis of rac‐15‐deoxy‐Δ12,14‐PGJ2 (15dPGJ2) derivatives that contain variable α and ω chains based on a polymer‐assisted strategy and their neurite‐outgrowth‐promoting activity are described. The strategy for the synthesis of PGJ2 derivatives involves the use of a vinyl iodide bearing cyclopentenone as a key intermediate, which undergoes Suzuki–Miyaura coupling and subsequent Lewis acid catalyzed aldol condensation for incorporation of the ω and α chains, respectively. For easy access to the PGJ2 derivatives, a polymer‐supported catalyst and scavengers were adapted for use in these four diverse steps, in which workup and purification can be performed by simple filtration of the solid‐supported reagents. By using this methodology, we succeeded in the synthesis of 16 PGJ2 derivatives with four alkyl boranes and four aldehydes. The neurite‐outgrowth‐promoting activity of the 16 synthetic compounds in PC12 cells revealed that the side‐chains play a major role in modulating their biological activity. The carboxylic acid on the α chain improved the biological activity, although it was not absolutely required. Furthermore, a PGJ2 derivative with a phenyl moiety on the ω chain was found to exhibit an activity comparable to that of natural 15dPGJ2.  相似文献

Photovisco-elastoplasticity has been developed and applied to various problems in nonlinear stress analysis as an extension of photoelasticity into nonlinear photomechanics. In photoelasticity, because stress is simply related to strain, isochromatics are proportional to either the principal stress difference or the principal strain difference and isoclinics indicate the directions of either principal stresses or principal strains separately. However, in photovisco-elastoplasticity, these optical responses are nonlinearly related to both stress and strain state simultaneously. Thus isochromatics are related nonlinearly with both the principal stress and strain differences. Isoclinics depend on the direction of principal strain as well as that of principal stress. Concerning now isoclinic parameter: according to the results of experiments performed by us for the deformation state where the directions of principal stress and strain do not coincide with one another, it has been found that isoclinic parameter moves gradually from the direction of principal stress to that of principal strain with increasing viscous deformation under constant stress. In the present research, extending our previous investigations, the behavior of isoclinic parameter has been examined experimentally under cyclic stressing, where the direction of principal stress changes alternately. In the course of an experiment, the variation of isoclinic parameter in relation to the number of cycles was measured together with the corresponding strain state on the thin-walled tubular specimen of celluloid softened by heating, subjected to combined loading conditions consisting of constant axial tension and cyclic torsion. The results obtained may be summarized as follows.
  1. The cyclic-variation phase of isoclinic parameter lags behind the cyclic-variation phase of the direction of principal stress. The phase difference between these cyclic variations remains constant regardless of the number of cycles.
  2. Isoclinic parameter has a value close to the direction of the principal stress within a range of a small number of cycles and decreases with an increase in the number of cycles. However, it does not approach the direction of principal strain but a value between the direction of the principal stress and that of the principal strain, with a certain constant ratio to them.

Molecular dynamics simulations have been performed to examine the thermodynamic properties of methane/water interface using two different water models, the TIP4P/2005 and SPC/E, and two sets of combining rules. The density profiles, interfacial tensions, surface excesses, surface pressures, and coexisting densities are calculated over a wide range of pressure conditions. The TIP4P/2005 water model was used, with an optimized combining rule between water and methane fit to the solubility, to provide good predictions of interfacial properties. The use of the infinite dilution approximation to calculate the surface excesses from the interfacial tensions is examined comparing the surface pressures obtained by different approaches. It is shown that both the change of methane solubilities in pressure and position of maximum methane density profile at the interface are independent of pressure up to about 2 MPa. We have also calculated the adsorption enthalpies and entropies to describe the temperature dependency of the adsorption.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations of a Lennard-Jones (LJ) liquid were applied to compare the isotropic periodic sum (IPS) method [X. Wu and B. R. Brooks, J. Chem. Phys. 122, 044107 (2005)], which can reduce the calculation cost of long-range interactions, such as the Lennard-Jones and Coulombic ones, with the cutoff method for the transport coefficients which includes the self-diffusion coefficient, bulk viscosity, and thermal conductivity. The self-diffusion coefficient, bulk viscosity, and thermal conductivity were estimated with reasonable accuracy if the cutoff distance of the LJ potential for the IPS method was greater than 3sigma. The IPS method is an effective technique for estimating the transport coefficients of the Lennard-Jones liquid in a homogeneous system.  相似文献
