This work aimed at modeling chromium biosorption using the biomass of seaweed Sargassum sp. in a fixed-bed column. The mathematical model used was obtained from the mass balance of the component in the liquid phase and in the biosorbent material. The effects of both axial dispersion in the column and the resistance to mass transfer in the solid were considered for the solution of the partial differential equations of the model, using the Galerkin method on finite elements. To represent the equilibrium data of the batch system the Langmuir isotherm were used. The chromium ion adsorption capacity of the seaweed Sargassum sp., at a temperature of 30°C and pH 3.5, was 2.61 mmol/g. The model performance was evaluated from experimental data obtained at 30°C for flow rates of 2, 6 and 8 mL/min. The parameters of the model, mass transfer and axial dispersion coefficients, were adjusted from these experimental data. The model proved adequate to describe chromium biosorption dynamics in fixed-bed columns. 相似文献

A photoemission study of molybdenum hexacarbonyl adsorption and decomposition on TiO2(1 1 0) surface
The adsorption and decomposition of molybdenum hexacarbonyl on (1 1 0) TiO2 surfaces were studied using both core levels and valence band photoemission spectroscopies. It was found that after an adsorption at 140 K, when going back to room temperature, only a small part of molybdenum compounds, previously present at low temperature, remained on the TiO2 surface. This indicates that the desorption temperature on such a surface is lower than the decomposition one. The use of photon irradiation to decompose the hexacarbonyl molecule was also studied. It was shown that during such a decomposition molecular fragments were chemisorbed on the surface allowing a higher amount of metal to remain on the surface. It was also shown that it was possible to get rid of adsorbed subcarbonyl groups and to organize the metal atoms by thermal treatments at temperatures as low as 400 K, i.e. much lower than the one needed to obtain the same structures using physical vapour deposition (PVD). Moreover, due to lower used temperatures, this chemical way of deposition allows a better control of the interface than during PVD growth. 相似文献

Chromium catalysts combined with phosphorous‐bridged bisphenoxy ligands were found to be highly active for ethylene polymerization. The most efficient catalyst precursor among them, generated by combining bis[3‐tert‐butyl‐5‐methyl‐2‐hydroxyphenyl](phenyl)phosphine hydrochloride ( 1a ) and CrCl3(THF)3, was characterized. X‐ray analysis of (3‐tert‐butyl‐5‐methyl‐2‐phenoxy)(3‐tert‐butyl‐5‐methyl‐ 2‐hydroxyphenyl)(phenyl)phosphine bis(tetrahydrofuran)chromium dichloride ( 6 ), obtained by the reaction of 1a and CrCl3(THF)3 in the presence of NaH, revealed a unique structure in which one phenol moiety of the bisphenol did not coordinate to the chromium center. Complex 6 showed higher activities than those observed in the in situ catalyst system. Polyethylene of various molecular weights was obtained with differing activators. The highest activity (113.5 kg mmol (cat)?1 h?1) was observed when TIBA/TB was used as a cocatalyst. A medium molecular weight polymer with narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw = 128,700, Mw/Mn = 1.8) was obtained using a 6 ‐TIBA/B(C6F5)3 system. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A Contribution on Ternary Oxides of the AMO4-Type (A = Ti3+, Cr3+; M = Nb5+, Ta5+ ) CrNbO4, CrTaO4, TiNbO4, and TiTaO4 were prepared by CO2-laser technique. X-ray single crystal investigations show a random distribution of the metal ions in Rutil type structure, space group D–P42/mnm. Calculations of the free energy of reaction between Ti2O3 and Nb2O5 show higher stability of TiO2 beside NbO2. In TiNbO4 both metals exhibit the oxidation state +4. 相似文献
