Effects of precipitated silica (PSi) and silica from fly ash (FA) particles (FASi) on the cure and mechanical properties before and after thermal and oil aging of natural rubber (NR) and acrylonitrile–butadiene rubber (NBR) blends with and without chloroprene rubber (CR) or epoxidized NR (ENR) as a compatibilizer have been reported in this paper. The experimental results suggested that the scorch and cure times decreased with the addition of silica and the compound viscosity increased on increasing the silica content. The mechanical properties for PSi filled NR/NBR vulcanizates were greater than those for FASi filled NR/NBR vulcanizates in all cases. The PSi could be used for reinforcing the NR/NBR vulcanizates while the silica from FA was regarded as a semi‐reinforcing and/or extending filler. The incorporation of CR or ENR enhanced the mechanical properties of the NR/NBR vulcanizates, the ENR being more effective and compatible with the blend. The mechanical properties of the NR/NBR vulcanizates were improved by post‐curing effect from thermal aging but deteriorated by the oil aging. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The problem on large deformations of round cylinders made of homogeneous and fiber-reinforced elastomeric materials under the action of inertia forces caused by rotatory motion is solved. The solution is given in a plane axisymmetric statement, where the deformation parameters of the cylinders depend only on the radial coordinate. Based on the mathematical model presented, the deformation of revolving cylinders made of homogeneous elastomeric materials and reinforced with fibers in the axial, circumferential, and radial directions is investigated. The ultimate rotational speeds for cylinders with different reinforcement schemes and tight and loose fits are found at which their limiting configurations are reached. Stationary kinks (elastostatic shocks) are examined in the context of a base neo-Hookean response augmented with unidirectional reinforcing that is characterized by a single additional constitutive parameter for the additional fiber reinforcing stiffness. Previous work has shown that such a transversely isotropic material can support stationary kinks in plane deformation if the reinforcing is sufficiently great. If the deformation on one side of the kink involves a load axis aligned with the fiber axis, then the more general plane deformation on the other side of the kink is characterized in terms of a one-parameter family of (kink orientation, kink strength)-pairs. Here, the ellipticity status of the two correlated deformation states is shown to span all four possible ellipticity/nonellipticity permutations. If both deformation states are elliptic, then a suitable intermediate deformation is shown to be nonelliptic. Maximally dissipative quasi-static kink motion is examined and interpreted in terms of kink band broadening in on-axis loading. Such maximally dissipative kinks nucleate only in compression as weak kinks, with subsequent motion converting nonelliptic deformation to elliptic deformation. The associated fiber rotation involves three periods: an initial period of slow rotation, a secondary period of rapid rotation, and a final period of essentially constant orienation.  相似文献

Strontium has a beneficial role on bone remodeling and is proposed for the treatment of pathologies associated to excessive bone resorption, such as osteoporosis. Herein, the possibility to utilize a biomimetic scaffold as strontium delivery system is explored. Porous 3D gelatin scaffolds containing about 30% of strontium substituted hydroxyapatite (SrHA) or pure hydroxyapatite (HA) are prepared by freeze‐drying. The scaffolds display a very high open porosity, with an interconnectivity of 100%. Reinforcement with further amount of gelatin provokes a modest decrease of the average pore size, without reducing interconnectivity. Moreover, reinforced scaffolds display reduced water uptake ability and increased values of mechanical parameters when compared to as‐prepared scaffolds. Strontium displays a sustained release in phosphate buffered saline: the quantities released after 14 d from as‐prepared and reinforced scaffolds are just 14 and 18% of the initial content, respectively. Coculture of osteoblasts and osteoclasts shows that SrHA‐containing scaffolds promote osteoblast viability and activity when compared to HA‐containing scaffolds. On the other hand, osteoclastogenesis and osteoclast differentiation are significantly inhibited on SrHA‐containing scaffolds, suggesting that these systems could be usefully applied for local delivery of strontium in loci characterized by excessive bone resorption.  相似文献

The combination of polymers with magnetic particles displays novel and often enhanced properties compared to the traditional materials. They can open up possibilities for new technological applications. The magnetic field sensitive elastomers represent a new type of composites consisting of small particles, usually from nanometer range to micron range, dispersed in a highly elastic polymeric matrix. In this paper, we show that in the presence of built‐in magnetic particles it is possible to tune the elastic modulus by an external magnetic field. We propose a phenomenological equation to describe the effect of the external magnetic field on the elastic modulus. We demonstrate the engineering potential of new materials on the examples of two devices. The first one is a new type of seals fundamentally different from those used before. In the simplest case, the sealing assembly includes a magnetoelastic strip and a permanent magnet. They attract due to the magnetic forces. This ensures that due to high elasticity of the proposed composites and good adhesion properties, the strip of magnetoelastic will adopt the shape of the surface to be sealed, this fact leading to an excellent sealing. Another straightforward application of the magnetic composites is based on their magnetic field dependent elastic modulus. 我国现行混凝土结构设计规范关于腹筋对深梁抗剪承载力影响的考虑,主要基于简支深梁的试验数据和计算模型,相关规定对于连续深梁的适用性有待验证。腹筋对连续深梁抗剪性能的影响机理十分复杂,系统的试验研究较少,试验结果比较分散。为了弥补试验研究的不足,采用非线性有限元方法模拟钢筋混凝土连续深梁的受力性能。利用已有的试验数据,验证了基于ATENA软件建立的有限元模型,并以此为基础,对以腹筋配筋率和剪跨比为变量的64根连续深梁进行分析,研究腹筋对连续深梁受剪承载力的影响。有限元分析结果与规范公式和压杆-拉杆模型(STM)及最新提出的三参数机动法(3PKT)的比较表明,中国规范高估了水平腹筋对构件受剪承载力的贡献,STM和3PKT方法也存在各自的不足。  相似文献

This current study aimed to enhance the thermal conductivity of thin film composites without compromising other polymer qualities. The effect of adding high thermal conductivity nanoparticles on the thermal properties and moisture absorption of thin film epoxy composites was investigated. Three types of fillers in nanosize with high thermal conductivity properties, boron nitride (BN), synthetic diamond (SD), and silicon nitride (Si3N4) were studied. SN was later used as an abbreviation for Si3N4. The contents of fillers varied between 0 and 2 vol.%. An epoxy nanocomposite solution filled with high thermal conductivity fillers was spun at 1500–2000 rpm to produce thin film 40–60 µm thick. The effects of the fillers on thermal properties and moisture absorption were studied. The addition of 2 vol.% SD produced the largest improvement with 78% increment in thermal conductivity compared with the unfilled epoxy. SD‐filled epoxy thin film also showed good thermal stability with the lowest coefficients of thermal expansion, 19 and 124 ppm, before and after Tg, respectively, which are much lower compared with SN‐filled and BN‐filled epoxy thin film composites. However the SD‐filled epoxy film has its drawback as it absorbs more moisture compared with BN‐filled and SN‐filled epoxy film. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Prediction of near field overpressure from quarry blasting   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper investigates the propagation of airblast or pressure waves in air produced by bench blasting (i.e. detonation of the explosive in a row of blastholes, breaking the burden of rock towards the free vertical face of the block). Peak overpressure is calculated as a function of blasting parameters (explosive mass per delay and velocity at which the detonation sequence proceeds along the bench) and the polar coordinates of the position of interest (distance to the source and azimuth with respect to the free face). The model has been fitted to empirical data using linear least squares. The data set is composed of 122 airblast records monitored at distances less than 400 m in 41 production blasts carried out in two quarries. The model is statistically significant and has a determination coefficient of 0.87. The formula is validated from 12 airblast measurements gathered in five additional blasts.  相似文献
