GSI 对最重的靶元素254Es 的首次轰击

在10月10—18日之间,在GSI,人们利用尤尼拉克(UNILAC)的束流对99号元素锒的同位素~(254)Es(半寿命T_(1/2)=276天)进行了首次轰击,这是迄今使用的最重的靶元素;该实验用了2μg 的Es 同位素,这几乎是世界上仅有的库存。实验是由劳伦斯利弗莫尔实验室和GSI 合作完成的,其目的是想用~(16)O,~(18)O和~(22)Ne 作炮弹对~(254)Es 进行轰击,找到生成丰中子重锕系元素和超锕系同位素的最佳反应条件。去年在利弗莫尔的离线化学实验表明,这个方法将被认为是这次实验的唯一有效的。     

Experimental study of the elastic scattering of ~(10)Be on ~(208)Pb at the energy of around three times the Coulomb barrier

Elastic scattering of 10Be on a 208Pb target was measured at ELab=127 MeV,which corresponds to three times the Coulomb barrier.The secondary 10Be beam was produced at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou of the Heavy-Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou.The angular distribution of elastic scattering in the 10 Be+208Pb system shows a typical Fresnel diffraction peak.Optical model analysis of the angular distribution was performed using the Woods-Saxon,double-folding and global potentials.With the global potential,different density distributions were used.The results indicate that different density distributions for the projectile induce distinct effects in the angular distribution.

Operations on 3-Dimensional Small Covers

The purpose of this paper is to study relations among equivariant operations on 3-dimensional small covers. The author gets three formulas for these operations. As an application, the Nishimura＇s theorem on the construction of oriented 3-dimensional small covers and the Lu-Yu＇s theorem on the construction of all 3-dimensional small covers are improved. Moreover, for a construction of 3-dimensional 2-torus manifolds, it is shown that all operations can be obtained by using the equivariant surgeries.     

Asymptotics of Stationary Navier Stokes Equations in Higher Dimensions

We show that the asymptotics of solutions to stationary Navier Stokes equations in 4, 5 or 6 dimensions in the whole space with a smooth compactly supported forcing are given by the linear Stokes equation. We do not need to assume any smallness condition. The result is in contrast to three dimensions, where the asymptotics for steady states are different from the linear Stokes equation, even for small data, while the large data case presents an open problem. The case of dimension n = 2 is still harder.     

The Picard Theorem on S-metric spaces

Recently, the notion of an S-metric space is defined and extensively studied as a generalization of a metric space. In this paper, we define the notion of the S∞-space and prove its completeness. We obtain a new generalization of the classical "Picard Theorem".
