We simulate gas-liquid flows caused by rapid depressurization using a molecular dynamics model. The model consists of two types of Lennard-Jones particles, which we call liquid particles and gas particles. These two types of particles are distinguished by their mass and strength of interaction: a liquid particle has heavier mass and stronger interaction than a gas particle. By simulations with various initial number densities of these particles, we found that there is a transition from a spray flow to a network flow with an increase of the number density of the liquid particles. At the transition point, the size of the liquid droplets follows a power-law distribution, while it follows an exponential distribution when the number density of the liquid particles is lower than the critical value. The comparison between the transition of the model and that of models of percolation is discussed. The change of the average droplet size with the initial number density of the gas particles is also presented. 相似文献

This paper aims at investigating the influence of acoustic streaming induced by low-frequency (24 kHz) ultrasound irradiation on mass transfer in a two-phase system. The main objective is to discuss the possible mass transfer improvements under ultrasound irradiation. Three analyses were conducted: i) experimental analysis of mass transfer under ultrasound irradiation; ii) comparative analysis between the results of the ultrasound assisted mass transfer with that obtained from mechanically stirring; and iii) computational analysis of the systems using 3D CFD simulation. In the experimental part, the interactive effects of liquid rheological properties, ultrasound power and superficial gas velocity on mass transfer were investigated in two different sonicators. The results were then compared with that of mechanical stirring. In the computational part, the results were illustrated as a function of acoustic streaming behaviour, fluid flow pattern, gas/liquid volume fraction and turbulence in the two-phase system and finally the mass transfer coefficient was specified. It was found that additional turbulence created by ultrasound played the most important role on intensifying the mass transfer phenomena compared to that in stirred vessel. Furthermore, long residence time which depends on geometrical parameters is another key for mass transfer. The results obtained in the present study would help researchers understand the role of ultrasound as an energy source and acoustic streaming as one of the most important of ultrasound waves on intensifying gas-liquid mass transfer in a two-phase system and can be a breakthrough in the design procedure as no similar studies were found in the existing literature. 相似文献

A Galerkin approach for a class of multiscale reaction-diffusion systems with nonlinear coupling between the microscopic and macroscopic variables is presented. This type of models are obtained e.g. by upscaling of processes in chemical engineering (particularly in catalysis), biochemistry, or geochemistry. Exploiting the special structure of the models, the functions spaces used for the approximation of the solution are chosen as tensor products of spaces on the macroscopic domain and on the standard cell associated to the microstructure. Uniform estimates for the finite dimensional approximations are proven. Based on these estimates, the convergence of the approximating sequence is shown. Using neutron reflectivity, we directly and self-consistently obtained all the parameters of the critical adsorption profile
of three critical mixtures (n-hexane+perfluorohexane, deuterated methanol+cyclohexane and methanol+deuterated cyclohexane)
assuming only a Liu-Fisher form for the profile. The characteristic exponent and the amplitude ratio which can be deduced
from the neutron spectra alone are in good agreement with one another, with ellipsometric data and with theoretical values.
Owing to auxiliary measurements of coexistence curves and correlation lengths, we could also check the amplitude of the intermediate
and distal parts of the profile with good agreements for the methanol cyclohexane mixtures only. The adsorbed amount is much
greater in the n-hexane+perfluorohexane mixture where both the power-law amplitude and the characteristic length of the profile
are affected.

In order to improve 4-CP degradation efficiency, a novel gas-liquid hybrid discharge (HD) reactor was developed. Removal of 4-CP with spark-spark discharge (SSD) was higher than that with spark-corona discharge (SCD). Amount of H2O2 and O3 produced with SSD were larger than that with SCD. ·OH formation was increased by the combination of H2O2 and O3. The contribution of ·OH (38 % formed by O3 conversion) oxidation on removal of 4-CP accounted for nearly 60 %. The other effects of ultraviolet radiation, intense shock waves and pyrolysis, played partial roles in about 40 % of removal rate. 相似文献
