Analysis of Vector Meson Transitions Among Heavy Quarkonium States

In this article,we study the vector meson transitions among the charmonium and bottomonium states with the heavy quark effective theory in a systematic way,and make predictions for the ratios among the vector meson decay widths of a special multiplet to another multiplet.The predictions can be confronted with the experimental data in the future.

北京谱仪合作组利用其在北京正负电子对撞机上采集的ψ（2S）大数据样本,通过ψ（2S）的辐射跃迁及强子跃迁过程,开展了粲偶素物理的广泛研究。测量了xc0、xcl、xc2、ηc和J／ψ粒子有有关性质,寻找了ηc(2s)和hc(1P)粒子。因一系列重要结果中有：xc0粒子的宽度与质量、ηc粒子的质量、J／ψ的轻子衰变分支比的精确测量结果以及xc0、xcl、xc2的许多衰变道的首次测量结果。     

e^＋e^- → charm cross sections via ISR

We discuss recent measurements of exclusive e^＋e^- cross sections for charmed hadron final states near threshold performed by Belle and BABAR. The results are based on a study of events with initial-stateradiation photons in a large data sample collected with the Belle and BABAR detectors at the T（4S） resonance and nearby continuum.     

What''s new with the XYZ mesons?

I review some of the recent experimental results on the so-called XYZ mesons.     

Overveiw of the BES physics

Recent physics results at Beijing Electron-Positron Collider （BEPC） are reviewed, especially on excited baryons. Substantial improvements are expected at the newly built BESIII experiment, which is operational since 2008. The detector performance is excellent and a total of 100 million ψ（2S） and 200 million J/ψ event are collected in 2009. Preliminary results shows that a new era of excited baryon physics will begin.     

Is X(3872) a bound state?

All existing experimental evidence for the bound state nature of X(3872) relies on observing its decay products,which are measured with a finite experimental mass resolution that is typically △m≥2 MeV,and much larger than its alleged binding energy,B_X=0.00(18) MeV.On the other hand,we have found recently that there is a clear cancellation in the 1~(++) channel of the invariant DD~*mass around the threshold between continuum and the bound state.This is very much like a similar cancellation in the proton-neutron continuum with the deuteron in the1~(++) channel.Based on comparative fits with a common Tsallis distribution of the experimental cross-sections for prompt production of deuterons and X(3872) in pp collisions with a finite p_T,we find a strong argument for questioning the bound state nature of this state,which also suggests that the large observed production rate could be consistent with a half-bound state.     

Charmonium results from BES

Using ～14×106ψ(2S) and ～58×106J/ψ data collected at BESⅡ/BEPC,the branching fraction of ψ(2S) →Ω+Ωˉ+ is measured with about 5σ statistical significance.The Λ electric dipole and Λ decay parameter are studied using the decay J/ψ→ΛΛ→ ppˉπ+π-.Using(106±3)×106 ψ(2S) decays collected at BESⅢ/BEPCⅡ,we have obtained some interesting physics results.The branching fractions of χcJ →π0π0,ηη are measured with precision improved.The mass and width of hc(11P1) state,together with the branching fractions of Br(ψ(2S) →π0hc) and Br(hc →γηc) are the first measurements.Surprisingly,the decays of χc1 →φφ,ωω,and ωφ are firstly observed in BESⅢ data.

利用北京谱仪在北京正负电子对撞机上采集的３５０万（２Ｓ）事例，通过（２Ｓ）→γπ－和γＫ＋Ｋ－反应道测量了Ｘｃ０的总宽度．由ＭｏｎｔｅＣａｒｌｏ模拟给出的质量分辨函数，利用拟合Ｘｃ２谱形得到的质量分辨作标定后，用于Ｘｃ０宽度的拟合，得到Ｘｃ０的宽度为（１５．０）ＭｅＶ．同时定出了ＸｃＪ（Ｊ＝０，２）到π＋π＝和Ｋ＋Ｋ－的衰变分支比．结果为Ｂ（Ｘｃ０→π＋π－）＝（４．２７±０．２３±Ｏ．６０）×１０－３；Ｂ（Ｘｃ０→Ｋ＋Ｋ－）＝（３．４４±０．２１±０．４７×１０－３；Ｂ（Ｘｃ２→π＋π－）＝（１．５２±０．１７±０．２９）×１０－３和Ｂ（Ｘｃ２→Ｋ＋Ｋ－）＝（５．２±１．１±１．８）×１０－４，其中第一项误差为统计误差，第二项为系统误差。     

Evidence for resonant structures in e~+e~-→π~+π~-h_c

The cross sections of e+e-→π+π-hc at center-of-mass energies from 3.90 to 4.42 GeV were measured by the BES and the CLEO-c experiments. Resonant structures are evident in the e+e-→π+π-hc line shape. The fit to the line shape results in a narrow structure at a mass of(4216±18) MeV/c2and a width of(39±32) MeV, and a possible wide structure of mass(4293±9) MeV/c2and width(222±67) MeV. Here, the errors are combined statistical and systematic errors. This may indicate that the Y(4260) state observed in e+e-→π+π-J/ψ has a fine structure in it.
