POLYMERIZATION OF ETHYLENE AND PROPYLENE WITH VCL4-BUTYLLITHIUM CATALYSTS

Polymerization of ethylene and propylene with VCl₄-BuLi (Bu = n-Bu, sec-Bu, tert-Bu) catalysts was investigated. The VCl₄-BuLi catalysts were found to initiate the polymerization of ethylene and propylene. The VCl₄-BuLi catalysts gave an ultra high molecular polyethylene. The effect of the Li /V mole ratio on the polymerization of ethylene with the VCl₄-BuLi catalysts was observed, an the catalyst gave an optimum rate at the Li/V ratio of about 3.0. The polyethylene obtained with the VCl₄-BuLi catalyst was found to be a linear structure. In the polymerization of propylene with the VCl₄-BuLi catalyst, the polymers contain mm contents of 56–66% were produced.     

Kinetic Study on Models of the Noncatalyzed Reaction Between α, ω -Dicarboxypolyamide-11 and α, ω -Dihydroxypolyoxyalkylenes

The kinetics of the noncatalyzed reaction between α, ω -dicarboxypoly-amide-11 and α, ω -dihydroxypolyoxyalkylenes is investigated by using the reactions of 11-dodecylamidoundecanoic acid with 1-dodecanol, 2-tridecanol, α-dodecyl-ω-hydroxypolyoxyethylene or α-dodecyl-ω;-hydroxypolyoxypropylene as models. Kinetic data fit a 3rd overall order (2 in acid and 1 in alcohol). Rate constants and activation parameters are determined and compared.     

Weight distributions of a class of cyclic codes with arbitrary number of nonzeros in quadratic case

Cyclic codes are an important class of linear codes, whose weight distribution have been extensively studied. So far, most of previous results obtained were for cyclic codes with no more than three nonzeros. Recently, the authors of [37] constructed a class of cyclic codes with arbitrary number of nonzeros, and computed the weight distribution for several cases. In this paper, we determine the weight distribution for a new family of such codes. This is achieved by introducing certain new methods, such as the theory of Jacobi sums over finite fields and subtle treatment of some complicated combinatorial identities.

基于LabVIEW的砝码自动检定系统设计与实现

针对目前砝码检定工作操作过程复杂、检定效率低等问题,设计了一种基于LabVIEW的砝码自动检定系统。在符合砝码检定规程的情况下,系统实现了检定数据实时采集、数据处理、生成原始记录、管理标准器、查询历史数据和衡器控制等功能。相对现有的砝码检定方法有操作简单、高效、程序移植性好等优点。系统由主控计算机、串口转无线扩展卡、多台衡器设备及相应的标准砝码装置组成。通过使用串口转Wi-Fi模块,系统可实现控制多台衡器设备的需求。实验结果证明,系统运行稳定可靠,采集数据准确,容易扩展,且大幅度减轻了检定人员的劳动强度,在计量检定工作中具有一定的实用和推广价值。     

C语言在密立根实验数据处理中的应用

用密立根油滴仪测油滴的电荷,求基本电量,及验证电荷量子性的实验是大学物理实验的经典实验。实验采用倒过来验证法,数据多,计算量较大,本文探讨使用C语言编程来处理实验数据。

Enhanced Optical Image Verification Based on Joint Transform Correlator Adopting Fourier Hologram

In this paper two new architectures for optical image verification are proposed. Both architectures are based on conventional joint transform correlators (JTCs) adopting a Fourier hologram and can significantly improve the recovered image quality. First, an input phase-only function is Fourier transformed and then interferes with a reference wave that is diffracted from a plane wave incident on another random phase mask. Second, two phase-only functions are placed at the two input sides of a beamsplitter such that the interference pattern of their Fourier transforms can be detected. To obtain a predefined target image in the output plane, one of the input phase functions is iteratively retrieved by the use of the projection onto constraint sets algorithm. Simulation results show that the less mean squared error and better image quality are obtained for both the binary and grayscale images.     

Interferometric key readable security holograms with secrete-codes

A new method is described to create secrete-codes in the security holograms for enhancing their anti-counterfeiting characteristics. To imitate these codes is difficult as pure phase objects having complex phase distribution function are used to modulate the object beam that is recorded in conjunction with an encoded interferometric reference beam derived from a key hologram. Lloyd’s folding mirror interferometer is used to convert phase variations of the reconstructed wave-front into an intensity pattern for hologram authenticity verification. Creating the secrete-codes through an interferometric reference beam from the key hologram facilitates a multi-stage authenticity verification as well as easy repositioning of the security hologram through a specific Moiré pattern generated during the verification process.      

Spondias mombin L. as a green corrosion inhibitor for aluminium in sulphuric acid: Correlation between inhibitive effect and electronic properties of extracts major constituents using density functional theory

The inhibition of aluminium in 0.5 M H₂SO₄ by extracts of Spondias mombin L. was investigated using the standard gravimetric technique at 30–60 °C. The trend of inhibition efficiency with temperature was used to propose the mechanism of inhibition. It was found that the S. mombin L. extract acts as an inhibitor for acid-induced corrosion of aluminium. Inhibition efficiency (%I) of the extract increased with an increase in concentration of the S. mombin L. extract but decreased with temperature. Furthermore, inhibition efficiency (%I) synergistically increased on addition of potassium iodide. Inhibitor adsorption characteristics were approximated by Langmuir adsorption isotherm at all the concentrations and temperatures studied. The mechanism of physical adsorption is proposed from the trend of inhibition efficiency with temperature and from the calculated values of Gibbs free energy, activation energy and heat of adsorption. Quantum chemical calculations were performed using the density functional theory at B3LYP/6-31G (d) level of theory to find out whether a clear link exists between the inhibitive effect of the extract and the electronic properties of its main constituents.
