We first experimentally demonstrate a laser-diode end-pumped self-Q-switched and mode-locked Nd,Cr:YAG green laser with a KTP crystal as the intra-cavity frequency doubler. The device produces an average output power of 680 mW at 532 nm. The corresponding pulse width of the Q-switched envelope of the green laser is 170±20 ns. The mode-locked pulses have a repetition rate of approximately 183 MHz and the average pulse duration is estimated to be around sub-nanosecond. It is found that the intra-cavity frequency doubling greatly improves the modulation depth and stability of the mode-locked pulses within the Q-switched envelope.  相似文献

通过在非线性偏振旋转环形腔内引入一种可旋转的在线起偏器,在保证装置的全光纤化结构的前提下,简化了被动锁模光纤激光器的结构.通过联合调节可旋转的在线起偏器、1/2波片和1/4波片的角度实现了掺饵光纤锁模脉冲20 nm间隔的双波长调谐输出,调谐过程中观察到了锁模脉冲双波长状态.另外,从装置中去掉1/2波片后,仅调谐可旋转的在线起偏器和1/4波片也能够实现锁模脉冲的单波长稳定输出.  相似文献

A simple configuration is proposed to perform wavelength switching in actively mode-locked fiber ring lasers, in which a sampled fiber Bragg grating and a tunable optical filter are cascaded in the ring cavity to exactly select the operating wavelength. The switching of four wavelengths with a spacing of 1.6 nm is obtained. The experimental results demonstrate that this technique is reliable and convenient.  相似文献

A general theoretical model for passively mode-locked lasers is presented, in which both the self-frequency shift and either a fast or a slow saturable absorber response are taken into account. An exact soliton-like solution and condition for its existence are obtained under a definite compatible condition. The stability of the solution is analyzed by using a variational method, and a parameter region, in which the solution is linearly stable, is acquired theoretically. To verify the theoretical predictions, a typical example is given for stable pulse propagation over a long distance. The numerical results show that the soliton-like solution is stable under some perturbations within the linearly stable region and an arbitrary Gaussian pulse converges to the exact soliton-like solution after evolution in a distance.  相似文献

Typically 31P in vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopic studies are limited by SNR considerations. Although phased arrays can improve the SNR; to date 31P phased arrays for high-field systems have not been combined with 31P volume transmit coils. Additionally, to provide anatomical reference for the 31P studies, without removal of the coil or patient from the magnet, double-tuning (31P/1H) of the volume coil is required. In this work we describe a series of methods for active detuning and decoupling enabling use of phased arrays with double-tuned volume coils. To demonstrate these principles we have built and characterized an actively detuneable 31P/1H TEM volume transmit/four-channel 31P phased array for 4 T magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) of the human brain. The coil can be used either in volume-transmit/array-receive mode or in TEM transmit/receive mode with the array detuned. Threefold SNR improvement was obtained at the periphery of the brain using the phased array as compared to the volume coil.  相似文献
