Total Variation-based regularization, well established for image processing applications such as denoising, was recently introduced for Maximum Penalized Likelihood Estimation (MPLE) as an effective way to estimate nonsmooth probability densities. While the estimates show promise for a variety of applications, the nonlinearity of the regularization leads to computational challenges, especially in multidimensions. In this article we present a numerical methodology, based upon the Split Bregman L1 minimization technique, that overcomes these challenges, allowing for the fast and accurate computation of 2D TV-based MPLE. We test the methodology with several examples, including V-fold cross-validation with large 2D datasets, and highlight the application of TV-based MPLE to point process crime modeling. The proposed algorithm is implemented as the Matlab function TVMPLE. The Matlab (mex) code and datasets for examples and simulations are available as online supplements.  相似文献

以溴代环戊烷和丙二酸二乙酯为起始原料,经缩合、水解、脱羧、还原、氧化、环合六个步骤合成了目标化合物环戊噻嗪;所得产物结构经核磁共振氢谱和质谱确证,产物纯度经高效液相色谱(HPLC)归一化法测定.结果表明,目标产物总收率可达25.5%,纯度为99.4%;经过改进的工艺条件稳定,操作简便,收率明显提高,适合于工业化生产.  相似文献

Electro‐optic side‐chain polymers have been synthesized by the post‐functionalization of methacrylate isocyanate polymers with novel phenyl vinylene thiophene vinylene bridge (FTC) nonlinear optical chromophores. For this application, FTC‐based chromophores were modified in their electronic donor structure, exhibiting much larger molecular hyperpolarizabilities compared with the benchmark FTC. Of these new chromophores, absorption spectra, hyper‐Rayleigh scattering experiment, and thermal analysis were carried out to confirm availability as effective nonlinear optical units for electro‐optic side‐chain polymers. The electro‐optic coefficients (r33) of obtained polymers were investigated in the process of in situ poling by monitoring the temperature, current flow, poling field, and electro‐optic signal. Compared with the nonsubstituted analogue, benxyloxy modified FTC chromophore significantly achieved higher nonlinear optical property, exhibiting molecular hyperpolarizability at 1.9 μm of 4600 × 10?30 esu and an r33 value of 150 pm/V at the wavelength of 1.31 μm. Synthesized electro‐optic polymers showed high glass transition temperature (Tg), so that the temporal stability examination exhibited >78% of the electro‐optic intensity remaining at 85 °C over 500 h. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis and characterizations of fluorinated telomers based on vinylidene fluoride (VDF) by iodine transfer polymerization (ITP) are presented. These telomers were prepared in the presence of ω‐iodoperfluorinated functional chain transfer agents, C6F13I or C4F9I. ITPs were initiated by thermal decomposition of bis(4‐tert‐butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate (BBCHPDC), in solution (in the presence of acetonitrile). The obtained telomers were characterized by different analyses such as elemental analyses, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatography, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and finally by thermal analyses such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analyses. These technical analyses enabled one to assess their chemical structures, various thermal properties, and their crystalline forms. The assignments of the characteristic signals obtained by 19F NMR spectroscopy enabled one to calculate the average degrees of polymerization (DPn) and percentages of ? CH2CF2I end group functionalities that depend on the initiator and the fractionation process after reaction. A good control of polymerization was shown by the absence of reversed ? CH2CF2? CF2CH2? (VDF–VDF dyads) and narrow polydispersity indices (<1.2). The XRD and DSC evidenced the influence of the chain length of the telomers on the crystallinity rate (>70%) and indicated two crystalline forms, α and β, that depended on DPn values. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis of a molecular brush was accomplished by combining step‐growth polymerization and reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization in a “grafting from” methodology. A symmetrical N‐alkyl urea peptoid sixmer containing alkyne functional groups was prepared using a divergent strategy, and the structure of the product was confirmed using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. A step‐growth process was used to prepare a linear poly(N‐alkyl urea peptoid) by reacting the diamine‐functionalized N‐alkyl urea peptoid sixmer with a diisocyanate. RAFT chain transfer agents were coupled to the poly(N‐alkyl urea peptoid) backbone through a copper‐catalyzed azide/alkyne cycloaddition reaction. The afforded macro‐RAFT agent was used to sequentially polymerize styrene and tert‐butyl acrylate block copolymer arms from the poly(N‐alkyl urea peptoid) backbone. The tert‐butyl groups were removed using dilute trifluoroacetic acid affording hydrophilic polyacrylic acid segments. Aqueous emulsion polymerizations of styrene were performed in the presence of a macromolecular reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent (macroRAFT) composed of acrylic acid (AA) and poly(ethylene oxide) methyl ether acrylate (PEOA), end‐capped by a reactive dodecyl trithiocarbonate group (P(AA‐co‐PEOA)‐TTC). The influence of the stirring speed or the presence of different amounts of a divalent salt, CaCl2, were investigated in this polymerization‐induced self‐assembly process, in which spherical and nonspherical nano‐objects were formed upon the synthesis of amphiphilic diblock copolymers in situ. It appeared that the addition of CaCl2 led to the controlled formation of different nano‐objects such as spheres, fibers or vesicles, whereas an appropriate stirring speed was required for the formation of nanofibers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(3‐hexylthiophene)‐b‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) diblock copolymer was synthesized by RAFT polymerization of 4‐vinyl pyridine using a trithiocarbonate‐terminated poly(3‐hexylthiophene) macro‐RAFT agent. The optoelectronic properties and the morphology of the block copolymer blends with CdSe quantum dots were investigated. In this work, a strategy for chemical synthesis of ascorbic acid functionalized polyacrylates (PAAA) was accomplished in a two‐step process, first a reversible addition fragmentation chain‐transfer (RAFT) polymerization on a benzyl‐protected ascorbyl acrylate monomer, followed by a deprotection (debenzylation) reaction. The polymers were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and gel permeation chromatograph. The polymerization ability of redox pair including PAAA and H2O2 were conducted through the measurement of 2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) conversion against time via real‐time FT‐NIR. It was found that PAAA in the presence of H2O2, independent on itself chain length, exhibited much faster polymerization than small molecule ascorbic acid (smAA) as reductant at identical condition. Interestingly, when the concentration of ascorbate repeating unit was over some critical value, the polymerization kinetics of HEA could be tunable by simply adjusting the initial molar ratio of reductant to oxidant and environmental pH. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Employing enediynes as crosslinking precursors, a novel yet efficient strategy, namely photo‐triggered Bergman cyclization, was integrated with intramolecular chain collapse to yield polymeric nanoparticles with the size regime below 20 nm. Enediyne motif was designed delicately to possess a high photo‐reactivity, with the double bond locked in a methyl benzoate ring while triple bonds substituted with phenyls. Single electron transfer‐living radical polymerization was conducted to provide linear acrylate copolymers with controlled molecular weights and narrow polydispersities. Poly(butylarylate‐co‐ 5 ) went through UV‐irradiation with a concurrent Bergman cyclization, resulting in well‐defined ultrafine polymeric nanoparticles. Results from NMR, Raman scattering, photoluminescence and UV‐vis spectra corroborated the presence of conjugative structures in the polymeric nanoparticles, indicating the occurrence of photo‐induced Bergman cyclization. A series of other acrylate‐based nanoparticles were investigated to confirm the applicability of such a unique strategy in thermal sensitive but UV‐stable polymeric structures, making photo‐Bergman cyclization a promising tool towards polymeric nanoparticles. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
