The hybrid function approximation method for solving Hutchinson’s equation which is a nonlinear delay partial differential equation, is investigated. The properties of hybrid of block-pulse functions and Lagrange interpolating polynomials based on Legendre-Gauss-type points are presented and are utilized to replace the system of nonlinear delay differential equations resulting from the application of Legendre pseudospectral method, by a system of nonlinear algebraic equations. In this article, compactly supported totally interpolating biorthogonal multiwavelet systems are studied. Necessary and sufficient conditions for such systems to have given approximation orders are stated in simple equations. It is shown that the shorter nontrivial filter component that has the minimum possible length for a given approximation order is uniquely determined up to a discrete parameter. Among systems with such property, we provide all totally interpolating biorthogonal stable multiwavelet systems of approximation orders 2 and 3 with minimal total length whose scaling vectors have minimal lengths as well. 相似文献

The boundary-element method (BEM) applied to three-dimensional problems in the linear theory of elasticity is analyzed. The solutions of test problems for spherical and cubic cavities are used as examples to consider the basic aspects and difficulties of applying the traditional BEM to static and nonstationary three-dimensional problems. It is established that using Chebyshev polynomials in the Gaussian quadrature formula to evaluate the singular segments of surface integrals reduces the computation time by a factor of 2 to 3 without loss of accuracy compared with the traditional Gauss–Legendre formula. Based on the improved interpolating moving least-squares (ⅡMLS) method and the Galerkin weak form, an improved interpolating element-free Galerkin (ⅡEFG) method is presented for two-dimensional elasticity problems in this paper. Compared with the interpolating moving least-squares (IMLS) method presented by Lancaster, the ⅡMLS method uses the nonsingular weight function. The number of unknown coefficients in the trial function of the ⅡMLS method is less than that of the MLS approximation and the shape function of the ⅡMLS method satisfies the property of Kronecker δ function. Thus in the ⅡEFG method, the essential boundary conditions can be applied directly and easily, then the numerical solutions can be obtained with higher precision than those obtained by the interpolating element-free Galerkin (IEFG) method.
