On Vector Quasi-Equilibrium Problems with Set-Valued Maps

In this paper, we introduce a new class of vector quasi-equilibrium problems with set-valued maps. Almost all the vector equilibrium models of the Blum-Oettli type in the literature are special cases of our new class of equilibrium problems under consideration. Moreover, a number of C-diagonal quasiconvexity properties are proposed for set-valued maps, which are natural generalizations of the -diagonal quasiconvexity for real functions. Together with an application of continuous selection and fixed-point theorems, these conditions enable us to prove unified existence results of solutions for such vector equilibrium problems.     

On bifurcation points of a complex polynomial

Let be a polynomial of degree . Assume that the set there is a sequence s.t. and is finite. We prove that the set of generalized critical values of (hence in particular the set of bifurcation points of ) has at most points. Moreover, We also compute the set effectively.

     

A zero topological entropy map with recurrent points not

We show that there is a continuous map of the unit interval into itself of type which has a trajectory disjoint from the set of recurrent points of , but contained in the closure of . In particular, is not closed. A function of type , with nonclosed set of recurrent points, was found by H. Chu and J. Xiong [Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 97 (1986), 361-366]. However, there is no trajectory contained in , since any point in is eventually mapped into . Moreover, our construction is simpler.

We use to show that there is a continuous map of the interval of type for which the set of recurrent points is not an set. This example disproves a conjecture of A. N. Sharkovsky et al., from 1989. We also provide another application of .

     

Regularity of Pressure in the Neighbourhood of Regular Points of Weak Solutions of the Navier-Stokes Equations

In the context of the weak solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations we study the regularity of the pressure and its derivatives in the space-time neighbourhood of regular points. We present some global and local conditions under which the regularity is further improved.

We study the arithmetic properties of higher Weierstrass points on modular curves for primes . In particular, for , we obtain a relationship between the reductions modulo of the collection of -Weierstrass points on and the supersingular locus in characteristic .

     

Fixed points of commuting holomorphic mappings other than the Wolff point

Let be the unit disc of and let be such that . For 1$">, let . We study the behavior of on . In particular, we prove that . As a consequence, besides conditions for , we prove a conjecture of C. Cowen in case and are univalent mappings.

     

Primal-Dual Solution Perturbations in Convex Optimization

Solutions to optimization problems of convex type are typically characterized by saddle point conditions in which the primal vector is paired with a dual multiplier vector. This paper investigates the behavior of such a primal-dual pair with respect to perturbations in parameters on which the problem depends. A necessary and sufficient condition in terms of certain matrices is developed for the mapping from parameter vectors to saddle points to be single-valued and Lipschitz continuous locally. It is shown that the saddle point mapping is then semi-differentiable, and that its semi-derivative at any point and in any direction can be calculated by determining the unique solutions to an auxiliary problem of extended linear-quadratic programming and its dual. A matrix characterization of calmness of the solution mapping is provided as well.

Strong Nearness Frames Having Enough Cauchy Filters

We prove results establishing sufficient conditions for the sum of two nearness frames to have enough Cauchy filters. From these results and the fact that, in the category of strong nearness frames having enough Cauchy filters and uniform frame maps, complete spatial frames form a coreflective subcategory, follow a variety of results where the open-sets contravariant functor from topological spaces to frames transforms products into sums and inverse limits into direct limits.
