In this paper, we theoretically study the effects of doping concentration ND and an external electric field on the intersubband transitions in InxAl(l-x)N/InyGa(l-y)N single quantum well by solving the Schrodinger and Poisson equations self-consistently. Obtained results including transition energies, the band structure, and the optical absorption have been discussed. The lowest three intersubband transitions (E2 -El), (E3 -El), and (E3 -E2) are calculated as functions of doping concentration ND. By increasing the doping concentration ND, the depletion effect can be reduced, and the ionized electrons will compensate the internal electric field which results from the spontaneous polarization. Our results show that an optimum concentration ND exists for which the transition 0.8 eV (1.55 μm) is carried out. Finally, the dependence of the optical absorption α13(ω) on the external electric field and doping concentration is studied. The maximum of the optical absorption can be red-shifted or blue-shifted through varying the doping concentration and the external electric field. The obtained results can be used for designing optical fiber telecommunications operating at 1.55 μm. 相似文献

Based on the extended Stroh formalism, we first derive the extended Green’s functions for an extended dislocation and displacement discontinuity located at the interface of a piezoelectric bi-material. These include Green’s functions of the extended dislocation, displacement discontinuities within a finite interval and the concentrated displacement discontinuities, all on the interface. The Green’s functions are then applied to obtain the integro-differential equation governing the interfacial crack. To eliminate the oscillating singularities associated with the delta function in the Green’s functions, we represent the delta function in terms of the Gaussian distribution function. In so doing, the integro-differential equation is reduced to a standard integral equation for the interfacial crack problem in piezoelectric bi-material with the extended displacement discontinuities being the unknowns. A simple numerical approach is also proposed to solve the integral equation for the displacement discontinuities, along with the asymptotic expressions of the extended intensity factors and J-integral in terms of the discontinuities near the crack tip. In numerical examples, the effect of the Gaussian parameter on the numerical results is discussed, and the influence of different extended loadings on the interfacial crack behaviors is further investigated. 相似文献

Since the introduction of ceramic‐on‐ceramic couplings in total hip arthroplasty, continuous efforts have been performed to improve the performance of the prosthetic components. To expand the applications of ceramics, in 2000 an innovative alumina–zirconia composite was introduced in the market. The present study represents the first investigation aimed at characterising at the molecular level Biolox® delta retrievals implanted between 1999 and 2009. Fluorescence and Raman results showed that a progressive improvement of the material properties has occurred in the period between 1999 and 2009. Raman spectroscopy showed that wear was the main cause of the in vivo tetragonal‐to‐monoclinic zirconia transformation. Our findings validated the in vitro accelerated ageing protocols proposed in the literature to simulate the effects of the in vivo wear, because the mechanism operating in vivo was found to be the same active in vitro. The in vitro fracture of a new femoral head appeared to be an extreme wear condition that determined the most significant changes in the residual stress state and monoclinic content both in the section of the fragments and on their surface. The micro‐Raman mapping of the fractured articulating surface showed that the tetragonal‐to‐monoclinic transformation involved a region much more extended than as reported in the literature. This work combines two complementary strategies for solving the steady incompressible Navier–Stokes model with a zeroth‐order term, namely, a stabilized finite element method and a mesh–refinement approach based on an error estimator. First, equal order interpolation spaces are adopted to approximate both the velocity and the pressure while stability is recovered within the stabilization approach. Also designed to handle advection dominated flows under zeroth‐order term influence, the stabilized method incorporates a new parameter with a threefold asymptotic behavior. Mesh adaptivity driven by a new hierarchical error estimator and built on the stabilized method is the second ingredient. The estimator construction process circumvents the saturation assumption by using an enhancing space strategy which is shown to be equivalent to the error. In the framework of relativistic mean field theory, the condensations of K- and \bar{K}0 in neutron star matter including baryon octet and Δ quartet are studied. We find that in this case K- and \bar{K}0 condensations canoccur at relative shallow optical potential depth of \bar{K} from -80 MeV to -160 MeV. Both K- and \bar{K}0 condensations favor the appearances of Δ resonances. With \bar{K} condensations all the Δ quartet can appear well inside the maximum mass stars. The appearances of Δ resonances change the composition and distribution of particles at high densities. The populations ofΔ resonances can enhance K- condensation. It is found that in the core of massive neutron stars, neutron star matter includes rich particle species, such as antikaons, baryon octet, and Δ quartet. In the presence of Δ resonances and \bar{K} condensation, the EOS becomes softer and results in smaller maximum mass stars. Furthermore the impact of antikaon condensations,hyperons, and Δ resonances on direct Urca process with nucleons is also discussed briefly. 相似文献
