Smoke–wire flow visualization is used to investigate the behavior of a round jet issuing from a straight tube and impinging on a convex surface. Video analysis of the impinging jet shows the initiation and growth of ring vortices in the jet shear layer and their interaction with the cylindrical surfaces. Effects of relative curvature, nozzle-to-surface distance, and Reynolds number on vortex initiation, vortex separation from the surface and vortex breakup are described. 本文严格按照实验程序,首次系统地研究了沸腾起始点受圆形浸没射流冲击速度大小、液体流动方向、液体过冷度和喷嘴直径等因素的影响,将沸腾终止点与理论值进行了比较。结果表明:起沸点随液体过冷度增加而降低,与其它因素无关。并从强润湿性液体沸腾机理的角度对起沸点的影响因素给出了相应的解释。  相似文献

The spray–wall impingement process in gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines, which is caused by the interaction among spray, wall and air to move the air–fuel mixture near the spark plug, directly influences the engine performance and emissions. Therefore, a detailed understanding of this process is very important in designing an injection system and controlling a strategy of GDI engines. The purpose of this study is to understand the spray–wall impingement characteristics for more efficient designing of the injection system in GDI engines and to supply the fundamental data under engine operation conditions. The wall impingement processes of hollow-cone fuel spray according to ambient gas conditions and wall geometry are calculated by validated spray models. The calculated results were compared with the experimental results obtained by the laser-induced exciplex fluorescence (LIEF) technique. It was found that the spray and vortex cloud at the high ambient pressure were distributed at inner area of cavity and the more fuel film mass observed at this condition. The fuel film mass decreased with the increase of ambient temperature, while the fuel film mass increased at high cavity angles.  相似文献

在考虑空气阻力影响,确定液滴撞击球面速度的基础上,对较高韦伯数液滴撞击干燥球面动态行为过程进行了实验研究,分析了球面曲率与韦伯数对液滴撞击行为和铺展因子的影响,并与前人撞击平面结果进行了对比.实验表明,靠近撞击球面时,液滴降落速度出现明显波动;球面曲率对液滴撞击后行为影响明显,曲率较大时,液滴撞击后铺展液膜会超出球面直径并滑落,曲率较小时,液滴撞击后在球面上呈现明显的铺展、回缩、震荡、着附动态变化行为,此时最大铺展因子受曲率影响小,随曲率减小,逐渐趋向于撞击平面时的最大铺展因子;韦伯数对液膜铺展速率影响较小,但对液膜回缩时间影响明显,最大铺展因子随韦伯数增加逐渐增大,获得的关联式呈指数变化.  相似文献

Danggui Buxue Tang (DBT), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula for ‘invigorating qi and enriching blood’, has been reported to produce a good effect on chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). However, the related mechanism remains largely undetermined. This study devised a metabolomics approach with GC–MS combined with pattern recognition to estimate the extent to which DBT alleviated CFS induced by food restriction and force swimming in rats. After 4 weeks of treatment, the endurance capability of rats was significantly better, and the motionless time was significantly shorter in the DBT group than in the CFS model group. Moreover, the activities of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase increased, whereas the levels of malondialdehyde, interleukin 6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha decreased in the DBT treatment group. Fifteen significantly changed metabolites were observed in the serum of rats with CFS, which was reversed markedly by DBT treatment. Metabolic pathway analysis showed that DBT could possibly alleviate CFS in rats by regulating the biosynthesis of phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan and the metabolism of glycine, serine, threonine, glycerolipid, glyoxylate, dicarboxylate, and tyrosine. It was observed that the metabolism of glycine, serine, and threonine was most closely related to the improvement in CFS by DBT treatment. This study showed that DBT could improve CFS effectively, and metabolomics was a powerful means to gain insights into the TCM formulas against CFS.  相似文献

This paper describes the generation of high-speed liquid jets by the impact acceleration method using a vertical two-stage light gas gun specially designed and constructed for this project at the Interdisciplinary Shock Wave Research Laboratory, Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University. Results of pressure measurements and double exposure holographic interferometric visualization and high speed video-recording of shadow graph images of waves propagating in a conically shaped container of liquid are included. In the experiments, an optical fiber pressure transducer of 0.1 mm in diameter and resonant frequency of 100 MHz was used for precise pressure measurements of waves in the container at 300 m/s projectile impacts. To verify the contribution of longitudinal and transversal waves created in metal containers, we used a 10.6 mm × 10.6 mm container of water with thick acrylic observation windows and quantitatively visualized waves by using double exposure holographic interferometry. We found that: (1) longitudinal and transversal waves did exist in the metal parts of the container and also in the acrylic observation windows; (2) before the nozzle flow started, these waves and their reflected waves coalesced with the main impact generated shock wave; (3) the primary jet was driven by pressures of 12.4 GPa caused by the 300 m/s projectile impingement; (4) successive shock reflections inside the container of liquid drove intermittent multiple liquid jets; (5) the contribution of released longitudinal and transversal waves to multiple jet formation is marginal; and (6) negative pressures detected with the optical fiber pressure transducer are attributable to impact flash and have no physical significance.   相似文献

Introduction

In this study,a novel numerical implementation for the adhesion of liquid droplets impacting normally on solid dry surfaces is presented. The advantage of this new approach, compared to the majority of existing models, is that the dynamic contact angle forming during the surface wetting process is not inserted as a boundary condition, but is derived implicitly by the induced fluid flow characteristics (interface shape) and the adhesion physics of the gas–liquid-surface interface (triple line), starting only from the advancing and receding equilibrium contact angles. These angles are required in order to define the wetting properties of liquid phases when interacting with a solid surface.

Methodology

The physical model is implemented as a source term in the momentum equation of a Navier-Stokes CFD flow solver as an “adhesion-like” force which acts at the triple-phase contact line as a result of capillary interactions between the liquid drop and the solid substrate. The numerical simulations capture the liquid–air interface movement by considering the volume of fluid (VOF) method and utilizing an automatic local grid refinement technique in order to increase the accuracy of the predictions at the area of interest, and simultaneously minimize numerical diffusion of the interface.

Results

The proposed model is validated against previously reported experimental data of normal impingement of water droplets on dry surfaces at room temperature. A wide range of impact velocities, i.e. Weber numbers from as low as 0.2 up to 117, both for hydrophilic (θadv = 10° – 70°) and hydrophobic (θadv = 105° – 120°) surfaces, has been examined. Predictions include in addition to droplet spreading dynamics, the estimation of the dynamic contact angle; the latter is found in reasonable agreement against available experimental measurements.

Conclusion

It is thus concluded that theimplementation of this model is an effective approach for overcoming the need of a pre-defined dynamic contact angle law, frequently adopted as an approximate boundary condition for such simulations. Clearly, this model is mostly influential during the spreading phase for the cases of low We number impacts (We < ˜80) since for high impact velocities, inertia dominates significantly over capillary forces in the initial phase of spreading.  相似文献

Obesity and hyperlipidemia are metabolic dysregulations that arise from poor lifestyle and unhealthy dietary intakes. These co-morbidity conditions are risk factors for vascular diseases. Piper sarmentosum (PS) is a nutritious plant that has been shown to pose various phytochemicals and pharmacological actions. This study aimed to investigate the effect of PS on obesity and hyperlipidemia in an animal model. Forty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five experimental groups. The groups were as follows: UG—Untreated group; CTRL—control; FDW—olive oil + 20% fructose; FDW-PS—PS (125 mg/kg) + 20% fructose; FDW-NGN—naringin (100 mg/kg) + 20% fructose. Fructose drinking water was administered daily for 12 weeks ad libitum to induce metabolic abnormality. Treatment was administered at week 8 for four weeks via oral gavage. The rats were sacrificed with anesthesia at the end of the experimental period. Blood, liver, and visceral fat were collected for further analysis. The consumption of 20% fructose water by Wistar rats for eight weeks displayed a tremendous increment in body weight, fat mass, percentage fat, LDL, TG, TC, HMG-CoA reductase, leptin, and reduced the levels of HDL and adiponectin as well as adipocyte hypertrophy. Following the treatment period, FDW-PS and FDW-NGN showed a significant reduction in body weight, fat mass, percentage fat, LDL, TG, TC, HMG-CoA reductase, and leptin with an increment in the levels of HDL and adiponectin compared to the FDW group. FDW-PS and FDW-NGN also showed adipocyte hypotrophy compared to the FDW group. In conclusion, oral administration of 125 mg/kg PS methanolic extract to fructose-induced obese rats led to significant amelioration of obesity and hyperlipidemia through suppressing the adipocytes and inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase. PS has the potential to be used as an alternative or adjunct therapy for obesity and hyperlipidemia.  相似文献
