Competing reaction pathways from α-halo-α-protioalkyl aryl sulfoxides initiated by organometallic reagents

The reactions of syn-1-haloethyl p-chlorophenyl sulfoxides (halogen = Cl, Br) with main-group organometallic reagents (n-BuMgCl, MeLi, n-BuLi, s-BuLi, and t-BuLi) in THF and PhMe solvents were examined. Product distributions were analyzed to determine the extent of competing sulfoxide ligand exchange, halogen-metal exchange, and deprotonation reaction pathways. A combination of t-BuLi in PhMe was optimal for initiation of sulfoxide ligand exchange from syn-1-chloroethyl p-chlorophenyl sulfoxide.

ansa-Metallocene derivatives XXXIII. 2-Dimethylamino-substituted bis-indenyl zirconium dichloride complexes with and without a dimethylsilyl bridge: syntheses, crystal structures and properties in propene polymerization catalysis

Bis(2-N,N-dimethylamino-indenyl) zirconium dichloride, (2-(CH₃)₂N-C₉H₆)₂ZrCl₂, and dimethylsilyl-bridged bis(2-N,N-dimethylamino-indenyl) zirconium dichloride, (CH₃)₂Si(2-(CH₃)₂N-C₉H₅)₂ZrCl₂, were prepared by reaction of the corresponding ligand lithium salts with ZrCl₄ in toluene. Diffractometric structure determinations reveal C₂-symmetric complex geometries for both complexes. An increased electron density at the Zr center of the dimethylamino-substituted complexes is indicated by reduction potentials which are 0.3–0.4 V more negative than those of their unsubstituted analogs. When activated with methyl aluminoxane in toluene solution, (CH₃)₂Si(2-(CH₃)₂N-C₉H₅)₂ZrCl₂ catalyzes the polymerization of propene to polymers with a microstructure comparable with that of polymers produced with other Me₂Si-bridged bis(indenyl)ZrCl₂ complexes, but with a substantially increased fraction of i-propyl end groups derived from alkyl exchange between Zr-polymer and Al---Me species.     

稀土长链配合物的合成及其性质研究

通过筛选配体、优化合成条件,设计合成了以Tb3 为中心离子,以苯甲酸、水杨酸、对羟基苯甲酸、对甲基苯甲酸、大茴香酸、间氯苯甲酸、对氨基苯甲酸、磺基水杨酸为第一配体,以十一烯酸为第二配体合成8种铽三元荧光配合物。通过红外光谱分析、紫外光谱分析、元素分析、EDTA配位滴定分析以及电导率的测定确定了铽三元荧光配合物的分子结构和组成,采用热分析仪研究了铽三元荧光配合物的热稳定性能,其热稳定性强弱顺序为:Tb(SSA)(UA).3H2O磺基水杨酸>大茴香酸>对氨基苯甲酸>苯甲酸>水杨酸>对羟基苯甲酸>间氯苯甲酸,同时对产生上述现象的原因进行了初步的理论探讨。     

Electrocatalytic Proton Reduction by a Cobalt Complex Containing a Proton-Responsive Bis(alkylimdazole)methane Ligand: Involvement of a C−H Bond in H2 Formation

Homogeneous electrocatalytic proton reduction is reported using cobalt complex [ 1 ](BF₄)₂. This complex comprises two bis(1-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)methane (HBMIM ) ligands that contain an acidic methylene moiety in their backbone. Upon reduction of [ 1 ](BF₄)₂ by either electrochemical or chemical means, one of its HBMIM ligands undergoes deprotonation under the formation of dihydrogen. Addition of a mild proton source (acetic acid) to deprotonated complex [ 2 ](BF₄) regenerates protonated complex [ 1 ](BF₄)₂. In presence of acetic acid in acetonitrile solvent [ 1 ](BF₄)₂ shows electrocatalytic proton reduction with a k_obs of ≈200 s⁻¹ at an overpotential of 590 mV. Mechanistic investigations supported by DFT (BP86) suggest that dihydrogen formation takes place in an intramolecular fashion through the participation of a methylene C−H bond of the HBMIM ligand and a Co^II−H bond through formal heterolytic splitting of the latter. These findings are of interest to the development of responsive ligands for molecular (base)metal (electro)catalysis.     

聚苯乙烯邻氨基苯甲酸负载钯催化剂的加氢性能研究

含有双配位基的聚苯乙烯邻氨基苯甲酸与钯络合物反应制得螫合的配位高分子钯催化剂。用甲醇-水(pH=12)还原可得晶粒分布均匀的胶态钯催化剂,它们对烯烃的加氢具有良好的催化作用。研究表明,钯络合物上原有配体的给予性常数(E_n)与负载后络合催化剂的加氢活性具有良好的线性关系,金属粒径为40—50A的催化剂对己烯-1的加氢活性最高。本文还研究了溶剂极性,载体孔结构及底物对催化剂活性的影响。     

Novel Chiral Aminophosphine Ligand:Synthesis and Application in Saymmetric Catalytic Hydrogenation Reaction

A new chiral aminophosphine ligand 6,6′-dimethoxy-2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphinoamino)biphenyl(DMBDPPABP) was prepared and its rhodium complex was found to be an effective catalyst for the asymmetric hydrogenation of amidoacrylic acid and its dervatives.The effects of solvent and reaction temperature on enantioselectivity were also studied.     

Exchange reactions of copper complexes with amines

Square planar mixed ligand complexes of the type [CuLL′] where L = 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde and L′ = acetoacetanilide, have been synthesized on treatment with ammonia. Amine exchange of the above Schiff base complexes has been carried out on treatment with different amines. The reaction with ethanol amine is quite interesting compared to other amines. It reacts with 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde to form a Schiff base, while the β-diketone part is removed in the complex formation. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, spectral studies, magnetic measurement, TLC, and conductane.     

Syntheses, Structures and Coordination Behavior of Central Hydroxyl Group Containing Polydentate Ligands

Synthesis and characterization of segmented liquid crystal poly(azoxy polyester-co-polyoxypropylene)

In this study a series of a segmented copolyester, poly(4,4′-dioxy-2,2′-dimethyl-azoxybenzene dodecanedioyl) (PMABD)-co-polyoxypropylene 400 (POP), was prepared. The chain length of PMABD studied (n) was varied from 7.8-18.2, and that of POP was unchanged. The intrinsic viscosity of the segmented copolyesters was 1.04-1.30, and the number average molecular weight obtained was 2.53 × 10⁴?3.49 × 10⁴ g/mol. The mesophase texture and thermal properties of the segmented copolyesters were measured as functions of n. It was found that the insert of flexible POP between those liquid crystalline domains of PMABD did affect thermotropic properties of PMABD. As the n value was 9.0 and 7.8 (or 7.4 and 8.6% by weight POP) the texture appeared as cholesteric-like oily streaks. The effect could not be attained by simply copolymerizing a mesogenic moiety with a pair of spacers of different lengths. The fluidity and domain structure of the flexible dodecanedioyl-POP-dodcanedioyl segments are taken into account for the obtained results. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
