ABSTRACT

This paper presents an enrichment case study to showcase a possible avenue for attending to the needs of academically strong mathematics students. We report on a group of university students who were presented with the opportunity of exploring a specific first year mathematics topic deeper, using an inquiry-based learning approach as part of an enrichment programme. Following the intervention, students completed a questionnaire and a few were interviewed to establish their experiences of the enrichment programme. We discuss the successes and pitfalls of the intervention and report on the impact it had on the participants.  相似文献

Auf der Grundlage des Zirkulations-Diffusions-Prinzips wurden zwei Trennrohre für die Hochanreicherung von Gasen enytwickelt. Als Modellgasmischungen dienten H2-N2 Kr-CH4 und Luft. Neben Wasserdampf wurden Methanol- und Äthaanoldämpfe als Treibmittel benutzt. Gute Trennungen wurden in einem nur 20 cm langen Rohr erzielt, dessen Trennspalt horizontal durch Lamellen in kleine Sektionen und durch ein Drahtdiaphragma vertikal in zwei Ringkammern geteilt wird. Drei Rohre dieses Typs wurden in einer rechteckigen Kaskadenanordnung getestet. Die Theorie des Transportes im Trennrohr sowie die Behandlung des hydrodynamischen Problems werden angegeben. Eine Anwendung des beschriebenen Trennrohres zur Isotopentrennung und zur Gashochanreicherung erscheint aussichtsreich.  相似文献

Tritium (3H) is an essential tracer of the Earth's water cycle; yet widespread adoption of tritium in hydrologic studies remains a challenge because of analytical barriers to quantification and detection of 3H by electrolytic pre-concentration. Here, we propose a simple tritium electrolytic enrichment system based on the use of solid polymer electrolyte membranes (PEMs) that can be used to enrich 3H in 250–3000?mL environmental water samples to a 10-mL final volume. The IAEA PEM-3H system reported here can produce high enrichment factors (>70-fold) and, importantly, removes some of the deterrents to conventional 3H enrichments methods, including the use of toxic electrolysis and neutralization chemicals, spike standards, a complex electrolysis apparatus that requires extensive cooling and temperature controls, and improves precision by eliminating the need for tracking recovery gravimetrics. Preliminary results with varying operating conditions show 3H enrichments to 70-fold and higher are feasible, spanning a wide range of tritium activities from 5 to 150 TU with a precision of ~4.5?%. Further work is needed to quantify inter-sample memory and to establish lower 3H detection limits. The IAEA PEM-3H system is open source, with 3-D CAD and design files made freely available for adoption and improvement by others.  相似文献

Abstract

Our objective in using column switching is primarily to achieve the desired separation in the minimum analysis time. Complimentary to this aim is the need for sample and column cleanup followed by column re-equilibration. Finally, all operations should be capable of automation. Fundamental to column switching methodology is the concept of Zone cutting, where part of the chromatogram is transferred to another column. This forms the basis of sample cleanup and is a very versatile and powerful method. Multiple zone cutting is also possible to further increase the scope of cleanup or to minimise analysis time. Zone cutting is also complimentary to the techniques of trace enrichment and recycling. Examples will be given involving the use of these techniques in the analysis of complex matrices such as urine, plant extracts, wine and serum. The latter will be used to propose a novel approach to the quantitative analysis of anti-convulsants in serum using hexobarbital as internal standard.  相似文献

An verschiedenen Systemen chemischer Verbindungen wurden Versuche zur Anreicherung des stabilen Isotopes 34S unter Verwendung der Ionenaustauscher Wofatit L 150, SBW und SBK nach den Methoden der Frontalchromatographie und der Bandenverdrāngungschromatographie ausgeführt. Beim Isotopenaustauschsystem Hydrogensulfit (am Ionenaustauscher)/Schwefeldioxid (in wäβriger Lösung) wurden Verfahrensweise und Betriebsparameter hinsichtlich des Anreicherungsgrades optimiert. Mit Hilfe einer einfachen Methode gelang es, aus den Versuchsergebnissen Werle für den elementaren Trennfaktor und die Trennstufenhöhe zu berechnen.  相似文献

Lysine acetylation is a dynamic and reversible modification, which has been proved to be a key posttranslational modification in cellular regulation. However, the low amounts of the acetylated proteins could hardly be detected before enrichment. In this study, for the first time, antibody‐immobilized magnetic carbonaceous microspheres were developed for selective enrichment of acetylated proteins and peptides. At first, standard proteins composed of acetylated bovine serum albumin, myoglobin, α‐casein and ovalbumin were used as model proteins to verify the enrichment efficiency. Then, the synthesized peptide was employed to confirm the selectivity of the method. Besides, the antibody‐immobilized magnetic particles were successfully applied to analyze mouse mitochondrial proteins. After database search, 29 acetylated sites in 26 proteins were identi?ed.  相似文献

We report herein the synthesis, crystallographic analysis and a study of the noncovalent interactions observed in the new 4′‐substituted terpyridine‐based derivative bis[4′‐(isoquinolin‐2‐ium‐4‐yl)‐2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridine‐1,1′′‐diium] tris[tetrachloridozincate(II)] monohydrate, (C24H19N4)2[ZnCl4]3·H2O or (ITPH3)2[ZnCl4]3·H2O, where (ITPH3)3+ is the triply protonated cation derived from 4′‐(isoquinolin‐4‐yl)‐2,2′:6′,2′′‐terpyridine (ITP) [Granifo et al. (2016). Acta Cryst. C 72 , 932–938]. The (ITPH3)3+ cation presents a number of interesting similarities and differences compared with its neutral ITP relative, mainly in the role fulfilled in the packing arrangement by the profuse set of D —H…A [D (donor) = C, N or O; A (acceptor) = O or Cl], π–π and anion…π noncovalent interactions present. We discuss these interactions in two different complementary ways, viz. using a point‐to‐point approach in the light of Bader's theory of Atoms In Molecules (AIM), analyzing the individual significance of each interaction, and in a more `global' analysis, making use of the Hirshfeld surfaces and the associated enrichment ratio (ER) approach, evaluating the surprisingly large co‐operative effect of the superabundant weaker contacts.  相似文献

This study reports the distribution of Cr, Ni, Cu and Pb in waters, sediments, macrophytes and fish of the Yamuna River’s patch in Delhi (India). This is one of the most polluted stretches of rivers in the world. Water from this river is used fosr irrigation, industrial and domestic purposes, including drinking water. The effects of season and anthropogenic practices were identified. Almost zero dissolved oxygen and high levels of lead and phosphate indicate the polluted state of the aquatic system. The enrichment factors in sediments (with respect to reference site) vary in the range of 0.60–82.9% (Cr), 1.40–90.5% (Ni), 1.00–85.3% (Cu) and 3.80–86.6% (Pb). The toxic effects due to Ni and Pb could frequently be visible in aquatic life as their values fall above the probable effect level (36 mg Kg?1 for Ni and 91.3 mg Kg?1 for Pb). The metal contents in the macrophyte (Eichhornia crassipes) and the fish (Oreochromis niloticus) generally increase in the summer season. Cu and Pb accumulate preferentially in E. crassipes. The fish from these waters is unsuitable for human consumption as the levels of Cr, Cu and Pb are above the recommended limits. Significant spatial variations in parameters of water and sediments were confirmed via one-way analysis of variance. The Pearson’s correlation analysis suggests a common source of some of the metals. Principal component analysis highlighted domestic, and industrial waste and coal-fired thermal power plants as the metal sources. This study might act as a benchmark for other investigations focused on similarly affected surface aquatic systems due to agricultural and industrial activities.  相似文献

对天津市某电厂循环流化床(CFB)锅炉燃用的原煤及燃烧产物底灰、飞灰、细飞灰(≤50 μm)进行痕量元素含量的测定,分析了Be、Zn、Hg、V、Cr、Mn、Co、Ni、Cu、As、Se、Cd、Pb 13种痕量元素在燃烧过程中的迁移行为,揭示了痕量元素在CFB锅炉中的分配、富集特性。结果表明,CFB锅炉中,较低的炉温对于痕量元素的迁移富集产生了较大的影响。由相对富集系数得知,Be、V、Co、Se在底灰中耗散,在飞灰中富集,Zn、Mn倾向于在底灰中富集,元素Cd、Pb、Ni、Cu挥发性较强,在底灰和飞灰中均是耗散。As受钙氧化物影响,挥发性表现并不明显。Hg在底灰和飞灰中相对富集系数均很低,表明Hg在整个燃烧过程中以气态形式排放;Hg、As、Se、V、Cr、Mn、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Pb均有向小颗粒物中富集的趋势。根据相对富集系数以及研究的13种元素在低温CFB锅炉中的迁移行为,将这些元素分为三类:A类(ER<0.1),主要是以气态形式排放元素Hg;B类(0.1R≤0.85),较易挥发元素As、Be、Ni、Cu、Se、Cd、Pb、Co、V;C类(ER>0.85),主要残留在固体产物中元素Zn、Mn、Cr。  相似文献

采用高温顶空液相萃取再转移的方法,对中药白术中挥发性成分进行萃取分离富集,采用顶空液液萃取/气相色谱-质谱(HS-LP-LPE/GC-MS)联用法进行测定,并与传统水蒸汽蒸馏法(SD)提取的挥发性成分进行对比。对各种测定条件和影响因素进行了考察,最佳萃取条件为:1.0 mL PEG 400为高温萃取剂,样品用量1.2 g,萃取温度120℃,萃取时间60 min,再将萃取剂用1.0 mL正己烷进行反萃取后进行GC-MS分析;采用HS-LP-LPE/GC-MS鉴定了33个组分,占总组分含量93.18%;SD鉴定了31个组分,占总组分含量97.12%。两种方法共同检测到的组分有29个,均以苍术酮(Atractylone)含量最高。结果表明,两种方法所提取的组分基本相同,可用于白术挥发性成分的测定。  相似文献
