Electrospinning has been regarded as a convenient method of manufacturing polymer-based multi-functional and high performance nanofibres that can significantly contribute to the world of advanced materials. The primary requirement of the process is to obtain nanofibres in continuous form with fine diameters and minimum variations. Secondly, the fibre network has to have minimum area occupied by beads to enhance the network's porosity. These two important characteristics, when achieved, render the nanofibre mats acceptable for many membrane type applications. The relationship between processing parameters and microstructures of nanofibrils is still not well understood. The goals of this study are to obtain a set of robust manufacturing parameters that would reduce the variation in quality while electrospinning non-woven mats of nanofibres from poly(L-lactic) acid (PLLA). The study involves sixteen sets of parametric combinations and the scanning electron microscopy of the produced mats. The desirable combination for producing acceptable networks appears to be low concentration of polymer solution, low feed rate, comparatively high applied voltage and a large distance (within the studied range) between the collector and the needle. The analytic structure of the Regge action on a cone in d dimensions over a boundary of arbitrary topology is determined in simplicial minisuperspace. The minisuperspace is defined by the assignment of a single internal edge length to all 1-simplices emanating from the cone vertex, and a single boundary edge length to all 1-simplices lying on the boundary. The Regge action is analyzed in the space of complex edge lengths, and it is shown that there are three finite branch points in this complex plane. A closed contour of integration encircling the branch points is shown to yield a convergent real wave function. This closed contour can be deformed to a steepest descent contour for all sizes of the bounding universe. In general, the contour yields an oscillating wave function for universes of size greater than a critical value which depends on the topology of the bounding universe. For values less than the critical value the wave function exhibits exponential behaviour. It is shown that the critical value is positive for spherical topology in arbitrary dimensions. In three dimensions we compute the critical value for a boundary universe of arbitrary genus, while in four and five dimensions we study examples of product manifolds and connected sums. 相似文献

A restriction to a minimal size of a neutral black hole is obtained in the frame of the model considered. ABSTRACT The liquid chromatographic enantioseparation of the phenylthiohydantoin (PTH) derivatives of various amino acids on four commercial polysaccharide-derived chiral stationary phases (CSPs) is described. Chiralcel OF and Chiralpak AS showed better performance than the other CSPs for resolution of the enantiomers of PTH amino acid derivatives. The enantiomers of all amino acids as their PTH derivatives were well separated on Chiralcel OF and/or Chiralpak AS. The (-)(L) or (-)-enantiomers of all analytes examined were preferentially retained on Chiralpak AS, whereas the (+)(D) or (+)-enantiomers of most of analytes were preferentially retained on Chiralcel OF. 相似文献

A photon transmission method was used to study latex film formation induced by organic solvent vapor. Various films with the same latex content were prepared separately from the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) particles and exposed to vapor of chloroform-heptane mixture in various percentage volumes of chloroform. Transmitted photon intensities, I tr, from these films increased in time under vapor exposure. The increase in I tr is attributed to the increase in 'crossing density' at the junction surface. The Prager-Tirrell model was employed to obtained back-and-forth frequency, ν of the reptating polymer chain during film formation induced by solvent vapor. ν values were obtained and found to be strongly correlated with the percent of chloroform in the solvent mixture. At high and low chloroform contents, polymer chains diffuse according to t 1/2 and t 1/4 laws respectively. 相似文献

The paper reports on the performance of highly dispersed synthetic magnesium silicate as a filler of the styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR). The magnesium silicate has been precipitated and characterized by determination of particle size distribution, electrokinetic potential, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms and SEM observation. At the subsequent stage of the study its surface has been modified by silane coupling agents. The unmodified and silane-grafted magnesium silicate samples have been used as fillers of SBR of standard testing composition. The vulcanizates obtained with the fillers have been tested as to their physical and mechanical performance. The vulcanizates filled with synthetic magnesium silicate have been found to show much better mechanical parameters than unfilled rubber. Modification of the synthetic magnesium silicates with silane coupling agents has further improved the mechanical characteristics of the vulcanizates. 相似文献

Film formation from polystrene (PS) latex doped poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) hydrogels was studied by using photon transmission technique. The transmitted light intensity, I tr was monitored during film formation process. Films were prepared by annealing, 10 wt% PS doped PNIPAM particles at five different heating and cooling rates at temperatures ranging from 10 to 100°C. I tr presented a hysteresis loops during heating–cooling cycles, which were explained by void closure and void reconstruction processes. The corresponding activation energies were measured during reversible film formation process. Void closure and void reconstruction models were introduced to produce the activation energies. 相似文献
