Significant increases in the measured elastic moduli with decreasing indentation depth have been previously found in various polymers by indentation tests with a Berkovich tip at micro-to nanometer length scales. These increases in the determined elastic moduli were related to second order displacement gradients which increase with decreasing depth when a conical tip is applied. When a spherical tip is applied, such depth dependence should not be present as the second order displacement gradients remain essentially unchanged with indentation depth. However, these gradients should be proportional to the radius of the spherical tip. To examine the notion of second order displacement gradient dependence in measurements of elastic moduli, indentation experiments are conducted on epoxy with spherical tips of different nominal radii. Accounting for tip imperfections, an increase in the determined elastic moduli is found with decreasing tip radius, which corroborates the notion of second order displacement gradient dependence. 相似文献

In Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of materials, estimating the effects of environmental and operational conditions such as temperature is important. Indeed, temperature changes induce modifications of the mechanical properties of the material and therefore cause a dilation of the acoustic signals characterized by a scale factor. This paper described four scale factor estimators able to monitor changes in temperature: The short-time cross-correlation (STXC) method, the stretching method (STRE), the Minimum Variance Based Estimator method (MVBE) and the Scale Transform Based Estimator method (STBE). The first two methods have already been assessed in the literature while the latter two have been specifically developed for this study. First, closed-form for the Cramer-Rao bound on the estimates of the scale factor, from a simplified deterministic signal, are derived and simplified expressions are given. Then, a statistical evaluation of the quality of estimates is conducted through Monte-Carlo simulations using synthetic signals, based on a model taking into account the influence of temperature. A raw estimate of the computational complexity of signal processing methods also completes this evaluation phase. Finally, the experimental validation of estimation methods is conducted on an aluminum plate subjected to temperatures variations in a controlled thermal environment. The temperature estimates are then faced with an analytical model describing the material behavior. 相似文献
An operationally simple method enabling hydrochlorofluoromethylation of unactivated alkenes under visible light activation is reported. The procedure has various benefits. It uses commercially available and inexpensive chlorofluoroacetic acid and phenyliodine(III) diacetate for the generation of the required chlorofluoromethyl radical, it converts feedstock olefins into attractive 1-chloro-1-fluoroalkanes, and it tolerates a broad variety of functional groups. The chlorofluoromethyl radical has a reactivity profile towards alkenes similar to the nucleophilic difluoromethyl radical. 相似文献
Flammability studies are conducted to evaluate the behavior of materials exposed to fire. In this study, microscale combustion calorimetry (MCC) and cone calorimetry methods were applied to acquire the flammability characteristics of red and grey extruded polystyrene (XPS) samples. To understand the effect of changes between parameters, Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to examine their linear relationships. From the research, moderate and weak correlations were recorded between the total heat release rates from both methods for red and grey XPS, respectively. Plotting peak heat release rate against heat release temperature for MCC and ignition temperature for cone test showed that 25, 35 and 50 kW m?2 incident heat fluxes of the cone test fall within 0.2 K s?1 and 0.5 K s?1 heating rates of MCC. Also, all the MCC parameters except char yield and total heat release presented good correlations with the cone calorimetry flammability characteristics. Hence, MCC could be used in conjunction with cone calorimetry to accurately and reliably assess the flammability of materials.
For the efficient extraction of kamebakaurin(KA), the ultrasound-assisted extraction(UAE) of KA from Rabdosia excisa(R, excisa) via response surface methodology(RSM) was investigated with high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). Effects of the experimental parameters such as extraction solvent, ratio of liquid to plant material, extraction time and extraction temperature on the extracting efficiency of KA from R. excisa were evaluated, and the purity of KA in residual was calculated. The optimized conditions were 65.5%(volume fraction) acetone, 35 ℃, time of 24.6 min with ultrasound of 80 W/L, 40 kHz, ratio of liquid to plant material at 30:1(mL/g). The maximum yield of KA is 0.708 mg/kg, with mean purity of 6.09%, indicating that ultrasound-assisted extraction is a feasible and useful method for extracting KA from R. excisa. 相似文献
Organic ultraviolet photodetectors (OUV-PDs) were fabricated utilizing 2-TNATA as an electron donor with Bphen and TPBi as electron acceptors. A high sensitivity of OUV-PDs to UV light was obtained in the range of 300–420 nm. The optimized OUV-PDs composed of Bphen as the acceptor offered a photocurrent density up to 336 µA/cm2 at ?8 V with 365 nm UV light at a power of 1.2 mW/cm2. The high response is attributed to the excellent electron transport ability of Bphen and the matched energy level between 2-TNATA and Bphen. 相似文献
