In this paper we report on the effects of the insertion of Cr atoms on the electrical and optical properties of indium tin oxide (ITO) films to be used as electrodes in spin-polarized light-emitting devices. ITO films and ITO(80 nm)/Cr-doped ITO(20 nm) bilayers and Cr-doped ITO films with a thickness of 20 nm were grown by pulsed ArF excimer laser deposition. The optical, structural, morphological and electrical properties of ITO films and ITO/Cr-doped structures were characterized by UV–Visible transmission and reflection spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Hall-effect analysis. For the different investigations, the samples were deposited on different substrates like silica and carbon coated Cu grids. ITO films with a thickness of 100 nm, a resistivity as low as ~4×10?4 Ω?cm, an energy gap of ~4.3 eV and an atomic scale roughness were deposited at room temperature without any post-deposition process. The insertion of Cr into the ITO matrix in the upper 20 nm of the ITO matrix induced variations in the physical properties of the structure like an increase of average roughness (~0.4–0.5 nm) and resistivity (up to ~8×10?4 Ω?cm). These variations were correlated to the microstructure of the Cr-doped ITO films with particular attention to the upper 20 nm.  相似文献

This paper describes the investigation of the potential of a quadrupole orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight mass spectrometer (Q-TOF) equipped with an atmospheric pressure ionisation interface for quantitative measurements of small molecules separated by reversed phase liquid chromatography. To this end, the detection limits and linear dynamic range in particular were studied in an LC/MS/MS experiment using 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine standards and 3,4-methylenedioxyethylamphetamine for internal standardisation. In a second phase, the experiment was repeated with real biological extracts (whole blood, serum, and vitreous humour). A calibration for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine and its metabolite 3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine was prepared in each of these matrices again using 3,4-methylenedioxyethylamphetamine as internal standard. The resulting quantitative data were compared with those obtained by liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection for the same extracts. The Q-TOF results revealed excellent sensitivity and a linear dynamic range of nearly four decades (2-10 000 pg on-column, r(2) = 0.9998, 1/x weighting). Furthermore, all the calibration curves prepared in biological material were superimposable, LC/MS/MS and LC-fluorescence, and the quantitative results for actual samples compared very favourably. It was concluded that the Q-TOF achieves a linear dynamic range for quantitative LC/MS/MS work exceeding that of fluorescence detection and at much better absolute sensitivity. This work presents an extention of the polarizable continuum model to explicitly describe the time-dependent response of the solvent to a change in the solute charge distribution. Starting from an initial situation in which solute and solvent are in equilibrium, we are interested in modeling the time-dependent evolution of the solvent response, and consequently of the solute-solvent interaction, after a perturbation in this equilibrium situation has been switched on. The model introduces an explicit time-dependent treatment of the polarization by means of the linear-response theory. Two strategies are tested to account for this time dependence: the first one employs the Debye model for the dielectric relaxation, which assumes an exponential decay of the solvent polarization; the second one is based on a fitting of the experimental data of the solvent complex dielectric permittivity. The first approach is simpler and possibly less accurate but allows one to write an analytic expression of the equations. By contrast, the second approach is closer to the experimental evidence but it is limited to the availability of experimental data. The model is applied to the ionization process of N,N-dimethyl-aniline in both acetonitrile and water. The nonequilibrium free-energy profile is studied both as a function of the solvent relaxation coordinate and as a function of time. The solvent reorganization energy is evaluated as well.  相似文献

We report the use of PLD to grow different ZnO nanostructures. Very different film morphologies have been observed using different laser wavelengths to ablate the target. The influence of substrate temperature and oxygen background pressure on the film morphology has been investigated too. Smooth and rough films, hexagonal pyramids and columns have been obtained by using a KrF excimer laser (248 nm) for the target ablation, while hexagonal hierarchical structures and pencils have been obtained by using ArF (193 nm). Photoluminescence and X-ray diffraction measurements revealed the good quality of the samples, in particular of those deposited using the ArF laser beam.  相似文献

The environment may significantly affect molecular properties. Thus, it is desirable to account explicitly for these effects on the wave function and its derivatives, especially when the latter are evaluated with accurate methods, such as those belonging to coupled cluster (CC) theory. In this tutorial review, we discuss how to combine CC methods with the polarizable continuum model of solvation (PCM). We describe useful approximations that include the solvent response to the correlation and excited state equations while maintaining the computational cost comparable to in vacuo calculations. Although applied to PCM, the theoretical framework presented in this review is general and can be used with any polarizable embedding model. Representative applications of the CC-PCM method to ground and excited state properties of solvated molecules are presented, and comparisons with experiment, and between the full and approximate schemes are discussed.  相似文献

Pulsed laser photodeposition from amorphous selenium aqueous colloid solutions using ArF laser radiation at a wavelength of λ = 193 nm has been investigated. Nanometer thick layers were obtained on UV transparent silica substrates in contact with the solution for various photodeposition parameters. Amorphous Se layers, 20 nm thick, were obtained typically by 40 laser pulses of 30 ns duration with a fluence of 50 mJ/cm2. Deposition thresholds for depositing 1 nm thick layers were as low as 5 pulses. The deposited nanometer thin surface morphology was analyzed by Evanescent Field Optical Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy. The nanometer thicknesses were evaluated by utilizing the differential evanescent light pattern emanating from the substrates.  相似文献
