Microwave absorption properties of composite powders with low density

The composites of barium ferrite coated on hollow ceramic microspheres were prepared using sol-gel technique. The crystal structure, morphology and microwave absorption properties of composite powders with different weight ratio of microspheres were studied with XRD, EDS, FESEM and vector network analyzer. The results show that the microwave absorption properties of composite powders are greatly improved. The maximum microwave loss of composite powders reaches 31 dB with an amount of 50 wt.% microspheres, and its density is only about 1.80 g/cm³. The effect of hollow ceramic microspheres on the microwave absorption property is also discussed.     

New Kamenev-type oscillation criteria for second-order nonlinear differential equations with damping

Some new oscillation criteria are established for the nonlinear damped differential equation (r(t)y′)′+p(t)y′+q(t)f(y)=0 that are different from most known ones in the sense that they are based on a class of new functions Φ(t,s,r) defined in the sequel. Our results are sharper than some previous results which can be seen by the examples at the end of this paper.     

Propagation of elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams through an annular apertured paraxial ABCD optical system

Based on the generalized Huygens–Fresnel diffraction integral and the expansion of the hard aperture function into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, the approximate analytical expression of elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams passing through a paraxial ABCD optical system with an annular aperture is derived. Meanwhile, the corresponding closed-forms for the unapertured, circular apertured or circular black screen cases are also given. The obtained results provide more convenience for studying their propagation and transformation than the usual way by using diffraction integral formula directly. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the propagation properties of elegant Laguerre–Gaussian beams.     

双光束相干控制产生多次谐波的实验验证

利用两束相干度可改变的飞秒脉冲光对产生的五次谐波的强度特性进行了研究，发现谐波信号的强度随相干程度的增大而增加，谐波信号的最大值相对于相干零点(双光束相干度最大处)是非对称的，从而证明了合成的激光脉冲波形变化对谐波信号的影响.同时对谐波的受激放大理论进行了初步的实验探索和展望. 关键词： 五次谐波 波形变化 相干 受激放大     

可调谐液晶法-珀滤光片的研究

提出了一种可用于密集波分复用系统中的新型可调谐滤光片的设计方法,该设计利用了液晶的双折射现象,以及液晶盒内法-珀效应,从理论上分析了器件的光谱特性,计算了液晶分子的折射率调制和其分子转动角度的关系.并对器件进行了性能测试.实验结果与理论吻合较好.     

Detection of low caloric power of coal by pulse fast-thermal neutron analysis

This paper introduces the analysis method and principle of pulse fast-thermal neutron analysis (PFTNA). A system for the measurement of low caloric power of coal by PFTNA is also presented. The 14 MeV pulse neutron generator and BGO detector and 4096 MCA were applied in this system. A multiple linear regression method applied to the data solved the interferential problem of multiple elements. The error of low caloric power between chemical analysis and experiment was less than 0.4 MJ/kg. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Ab-initio molecular dynamics simulation on nano-system under external pressure

A new constant-pressure molecular dynamics (MD) method is developed to simulate the dynamic behavior and structure transition of finite system under external pressure. In this method, no artificial parameter is introduced and the computation overheads are very small. As an application, a hard-soft transition of single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) under external pressure is found, which is in agreement with the experiments.

     

The effect of Mn substitution on thermoelectric properties of Ca3MnxCo4−xO9 at low temperatures

The effects of partial substitution of Mn for Co on the thermoelectric properties of Ca₃Mn_xCo_4−xO₉ (x=0, 0.03, 0.9), prepared by sol-gel process, were investigated at the temperatures from 380 K down to 5 K. The results indicate that the substitution of Mn for Co results in increase in thermopower at temperatures >∼80 K, and substantial (23-31% at 300 K) decrease in lattice thermal conductivity in the whole temperature range investigated. The temperature behavior of ZT suggests that Ca₃Mn_xCo_4−xO₉ with light Mn substitution would be a promising candidate for high-temperature thermoelectric applications.     

第十六届国际非线性声学会议在莫斯科市举行

第十六届国际非线性声学会议(InternationalSymposium on Nonlinear Acoustics,简称16thISNA)于2002年8月19日至23日在俄罗斯首都莫斯科市举行。来自全世界28个国家和地区约300人参加了会议,其中俄罗斯160人,美国32人,法国16人,日本11人,德国9人,英国7人,瑞典7人,….等等;中国代表有3人,他们是南京大学龚秀芬教授和王耀俊教授,江西吉安师范学院李化茂教授。ISNA是由国际非线性声学学术委员会主办的国际学术会议,每3年举行一次,自1968年以来已举办了16次,在声学和非线性声学领域具有很大的影响。本届会议由俄罗斯的莫斯科大学组织和承办。会议
