Densities,ρ, ultrasonic speeds, u, viscosities,η, and refractive indices, n, of pure benzene, benzyl alcohol (BA), benzonitrile (BN), benzoyl chloride (BC), chlorobenzene (CB) and their thirty six binary mixtures, with benzene as common component, were measured at 303.15 K over the entire mole fraction range. From these experimental data the values of deviations in ultrasonic speed, △u, isentropic compressibility, △ks,excess acoustic impedance, ZE, deviation in viscosity, Dh, and excess Gibbs free energy of activation of viscous flow, G*E, and partial molar isentropic compressibility, Kφ,20 of BA, BN, BC and CB in benzene were computed. The variation of these derived functions with composition of the mixtures suggested the increased cohesion (molecular order) in the solution and that interaction (A-B)>(A-A) or (B-B).Moreover, theoretical prediction of ultrasonic speed, viscosity and refractive index of all the four binary mixtures was made on the basis of empirical and semi-empirical relations by using the experimental values of the pure components. Comparison of theoretical results with the experimental values was made in order to assess the suitability of these relations in reproducing the experimental values of u, η and n. Also, molecular radii of pure liquids and the average molecular radii of binary mixtures were evaluated using the corresponding refractive indices of pure liquids and binary mixtures. The average molecular radii of binary mixtures were found to be additive with respect to mole fraction of the pure component.  相似文献

The kinetics of SN2 reaction between phenacyl bromide and various amines in 12 different solvents were studied. Solvent effects on the rate of this reaction and free energy of activation, ΔG# , were interpreted by applying the Abraham-Kam-let-Taft (AKT) equation. UK solvent polarity (π1*), solvent hydrogen-bond basicity (β1) and Hildebrand cohesive density energy (δH2) are those parameters which increase the rate constant and decrease ΔG# , while solvent hydrogen-bond acidity (α1) will have the compensatory effect. A comparison among obtained values of second rate constants, k2, for different amines in a given solvent indicates that the amine reactivities are highly dependent on their structures. The consequent decrease of the rate constant for different amines in any given solvent was found to be: primary > secondary> tertiary. This order results from steric effects of amines.  相似文献

A generalized corresponding-state model based on two reference fluids was developed for the prediction of surface tensions for non-polar and weakly polar pure fluids and their binary mixtures. Four parameters,po, Tc, Vc and ω, were used in this model, and the acentric factor ω was used as a scaling parameter. This model has been tested for 69 pure substances and 20 binary mixtures; the average absolute deviations are 0. 28 and 0. 20 mN/m, respectively. The results indicate that the predictions by means of this model were in good agreement with experimental data. In addition, the calculated deviation would increase with the excess surface tension rising, and if the excess surface tension is less than 3 mN/m, the prediction will be good and credible.  相似文献

<正>Base on the principle of absolute quantification of size exclusion chromatography(SEC),a light scattering(LS) detector coupled with a concentration detector(refractive index detector) is utilized to determine the compositions of complicated binary mixtures.A theoretical analysis predicts that the response factors for both LS and RI detectors are linear functions with the composition of any specified polymer mixtures in the binary polymer mixtures. Two pairs of complicated binary mixtures were used to test the theory mentioned in the present paper, and the experimental results show an excellent accordance with the theory.  相似文献

The conformational and dynamic properties of polypropylene (PP) for both pure melts and blends with different chain tacticity were investigated by Monte Carlo simulation of isotactic (iPP), atactic (aPP) and syndiotactic (sPP) polypropylenes. The simulation of coarse-grained PP models was performed on a high coordination lattice incorporating short- and long-range intramolecular interactions from the rotational isomeric state (RIS) model and Lennard-Jones (LJ) potential function of propane pairs, respectively. The dynamics of chains in binary PP/PP mixture were investigated with the composition of C150H302 with different chain taciticity. The diffusion rates of PP with different stereochemistry are generally in the order as: iPP 〉 aPP 〉〉 sPP. For PP/PP blends with 50:50 wt% binary mixtures, immiscibility was observed when sPP was introduced into the mixtures. The diffusion rate of iPP and aPP became slower after mixing, while sPP diffuses significantly faster in the binary mixtures. The mobility of PP chains depends on both intramolecular (molecular size and chain stiffness) and intermolecular (chain packing) interactions. The effect of intramolecular contribution is greater than that of intermolecular contribution for iPP and aPP chains in binary mixtures. For sPP chain, intermolecular interaction has greater influence on the dynamics than intramolecular contribution.  相似文献

A general model for the solution and diffusion behavior in pure gas-polymer membrane systems and gas mixture-polymer membrane systems has been developed. Proved by experiments on different glassy and rubbery polymer membranes at various temperatures and pressures, this model can achieve the prediction of permeation behavior of pure gases and gas mixtures in polymer membranes only using the model parameters obtained from experiments on pure gases. The calculated results are in good agreement with experimental.  相似文献

The rate constants and equilibrium constants of ligand exchange reactions between his(alkylxanthato)palladium(Ⅱ),Pd(S_2COR)_2(R=Am,n-Hex,Bz),and bis(N,N-dialkyldithiocarbamato)palladium(Ⅱ),Pd(S_2CNR_2)_2(K=Et,n-Pr,n-Bu),in chloroform solution have been determined ina temperature range of 20—50°C by means of high-performance liquid chromatography. It was foundthat both the forward and reverse reactions are of second order. All of the equilibrium constants Kdetermined are 10.3±1.0,much greater than the value(K=4)calculated statistically which indicatesthat the ternary complexes are more stable than the binary complexes. The experimental resultsrevealed that the reaction rate decreases with the increase in the size of R and R~1 groups and the latterare more remarkable, consistent with the deduction of steric effect. The activation parameters ofthe reactions have been calculated. In reaction series(11)and(12)(in the text)the isokinetic tempera-tures B=390±8K and β=346±15 K have been observed respectively.A plausiblemechanism in-volving an eight-membered ring intermediate has been proposed on the basis of experimental results.  相似文献

The densities (ρ), viscosities (η), refractive indices (nD), and speeds of sound (u), of binary mixtures of pyridine with 1-hexanol, 1-heptanol, 1-octanol and 1-decanol, including those of pure liquids, were measured over the entire composition range at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. From these experimental data, the values of excess molar volumes (VE), deviations in isentropic compressibilities (Δks), viscosities (Δh), molar refractions (ΔRm), apparent and partial molar volumes (Vf,2 and ), apparent and partial molar compressibilities (Kf,2 and ), of alkanols in pyridine and their corresponding deviations (ΔV and ΔK) were calculated. The variations of these parameters with composition of the mixtures suggest that the strength of interactions in these mixtures follow the order: 1-hexanol>1-heptanol>1-octanol>1-decanol. All the excess and deviation functions were fitted to Redlich-Kister polynomial equation to determine the fitting coefficients and the standard deviations.  相似文献

Second order rate constants, k2 have been determined for three bi-molecular Diels-Alder reactions to demonstrate that the high viscosity of ionic liquids can be a detrimental property in carrying out Diels-Alder reactions, if ionic liquids are employed as solvent media. It is possible to enhance the reaction rates of the reaction if a co-solvent is mixed in pure ionic liquid used as a solvent.  相似文献

The acidity constants of 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR, Scheme 1) in binary mixtures of methanol-water at 25 °C and an ionic strength of 0.1 M have been determined spectrophotometrically. DATa ANalysis (DATAN) program applied for determination of acidity constants. As percent of methanol increases in solvent mixtures the pKa constants also increased. There is linear relationship between acidity constants and the mole fraction of methanol in the solvent mixtures. Effect of solvent composition on acidity constants and pure spectrum of each component are also discussed.  相似文献

The acidity constants of Alizarine Red S were determined spectrophotometrically at 25 degrees C and at constant ionic strength 0.1 M (KNO3) in pure water as well as in aqueous media containing variable mole percentages (5-70%) of organic solvents. The organic solvents used were methanol, ethanol, N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), acetonitrile and dioxan. The acidity constants of all related equilibria are estimated using the whole spectral fitting of the collected data to an established factor analysis model. DATAN program was applied for determining of acidity constants and pure spectra of different form of Alizarine Red S. The obtained results indicated that acidity constants decrease as the content of an organic solvent in the medium increases. There are linear relationship between acidity constants and the mole fraction of various organic solvents in the solvent mixtures. Effect of various solvents on acidity constants and pure spectrum of each component are also discussed.  相似文献

The solvatochromic parameters (ET(N), normalized polarity parameter; pi*, dipolarity/polarizability; beta, hydrogen-bond acceptor basicity; alpha, hydrogen-bond donor acidity) were determined for binary solvent mixtures of 1-(1-butyl)-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([bmim]BF4) with water, methanol, and ethanol at 25 degrees C over the whole range of mole fractions. In nonaqueous solutions, the value of the mixture increases with mole the fraction of [bmim]BF4 and then decreases gradually to the value of pure [bmim]BF4. Positive deviation from ideal behavior was observed for the solvent parameters ET(N), pi*, and alpha, whereas the deviation of the beta parameter is negative. The applicability of the combined nearly ideal binary solvent/Redlich-Kister equation for the correlation of various solvatochromic parameters with solvent composition was proved too for the first time. This equation provides a simple computational model to correlate and/or predict various solvatochromic parameters for many binary solvent systems. The correlation between the calculated and the experimental values of various parameters was in accordance with this model. Solute-solvent and solvent-solvent interactions have been applied for interpretation of the results.  相似文献

Using potentiometric measurements, dissociation constants of two Schiff bases, N,N′-bis(1′-hydroxy-2′-acetonaphthone)propylenediimine (L1) and bis(1′-hydroxy-2′-acetonaphthone)-3,3′-diiminodpropaneamine (L2) were determined in binary mixtures of tetrahydrofuran-water at 25.0 ± 0.1°C and an ionic strength of 0.100 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP). The results show that the pK a values of these acids increases as the percentages of the tetrahydrofuran increase in solvent mixtures. There is a linear relationship between acidity constants and the mole fraction of tetrahydrofuran in the solvent mixtures. Effect of solvent composition on acidity constants is also discussed.  相似文献

Conductometric titrations were performed in pure and binary solvent solutions of ethyl acetate (EtOAc), methyl acetate (MeOAc) and methanol (MeOH) with acetonitrile (AN) at 288, 298, 308, and 318 K to determine the stoichiometry, the complex stability constants and the standard thermodynamic parameters for the complexation of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) cations with 1,13-bis(8-quinolyl)-1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxatridecane (kryptofix 5). The stability constants of the resulting 1:1 complexes formed between the metal cations and the ligand in different solvent mixtures were determined by computer fitting of the conductance-mole ratio data. The results revealed that the stability order of (kryptofix 5)-Ni2+ and (kryptofix 5)-Co2+ complexes changes with nature and composition of the solvent system. There is a non-linear relationship between the logK f values of complexes and the mole fraction of acetonitrile in the mixed solvent system. In addition, the conductometric data show that the stoichiometry of the complexes formed between the nickel(II) and cobalt(II) cations with the acyclic ligand changes with the nature of the solvent. The enthalpy and entropy values for the 1: 1 [ML] complexation reactions were evaluated from the temperature dependence of the formation constants. Thermodynamically, in most of systems, the complexation processes of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) cations with kryptofix 5, are both enthalpy and entropy stabilized and the values of these parameters are influenced by the nature and composition of the binary mixed solvent solutions.  相似文献

The solubilities of water in each of the three binary mixtures benzene-carbon tetrachloride, benzene-cyclohexane, and carbon tetrachloride-cyclohexane were determined as a function of solvent composition at 25°C. It was found that, as with the pure solvents, water in the 0.50 mole fraction binary mixtures of these solvents obeyed Henry's law up to saturation. The experimentally determined solubilities were converted to Henry's law constants of water for the entire range of solvent compositions. These values for the Henry's law constants were compared with theoretically calculated values. The comparisons indicated that water in the benzene-cyclohexane and in the benzene-carbon tetrachloride mixtures was preferentially solvated by benzene. Preferential solvation of water was not indicated for the carbon tetrachloride-cyclohexane mixtures.  相似文献

This work explains the unordinary solvent effect which was observed in the photochemical decay kinetics for the cyanine dye thiacarbocyanine iodide (Cy(+)I(-)) in binary solvent mixtures toluene/dimethylsulfoxide. The interpretation is formulated in terms of the probability density F(R) describing the distribution of interionic distances R in the ion pair Cy(+)I(-) and depending on the solvent composition. The proper normalization of this distribution is expressed via the degree of association α for the ion pair in a given solvent mixture. The α values are, in turn, extracted by means of the mass action law from the ionic association constants computed in a separate publication. The detailed kinetic scheme includes the empirical parametrization of the R-dependent kinetic constants for different decay channels. The multiparameter fitting procedure represents, with the reasonable parameter values, the dependence of the observed quantum yields on the solvent composition.  相似文献

Polyethylene glycols have become more popular alternate reaction media due to interesting properties like non-toxicity, bio-degradability, and full miscibility with water and organic solvents. Binary mixtures of polyethylene glycols with common solvents can be useful to tune their physical and chemical properties and to facilitate chemical and physical processes. In this study, solvatochromic parameters were spectrophotometrically determined for binary solvent mixtures of poly(ethylene glycol)-400 (PEG-400) with methanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, dimethyl sulfoxide, N,N-Dimethylformamide, and dichloromethane under ambient conditions, over the whole range of mole fractions. The solvatochromic parameters showed different trends in protic and aprotic solvents mixed with PEG-400. Methanol/PEG-400 mixtures showed special properties in polarity and polarizability so that the mixtures are more dipolar/polarizable than their pure components. Positive or negative deviations from ideal behavior confirmed that the indicators were involved in a preferential solvation process in the solvent mixtures. These deviations from ideality can be attributed to strong solvent–solvent interactions in the binary mixtures.  相似文献

The binary and mixed ligand complexes of some alkaline earth and transition metal (II) ions with dipicolinic acid (DPA) as a primary ligand and the biologically important secondary ligand (glycine), were studied using potentiometric technique. The acidity constants of the ligands were determined and used for determining the stability constants of the complexes formed in aqueous solutions under the experimental conditions (t=25 degrees C, mu=0.1 M NaNO(3) ). The dissociation constants of DPA were also determined in various water+dioxane mixtures under the same experimental conditions. It is concluded that a pronounced change in the pK values is observed as the solvent is enriched in dioxane. The values of DeltalogK have been evaluated and discussed. In addition, the chelation mode of ternary complexes was ascertained by conductivity measurements.  相似文献
