Today, wide variety of adsorbents have been developed for sample pretreatment to concentrate and separate harmful substances. However, only a few solid phase microextraction Arrow adsorbents are commercially available. In this study, we developed a new solid phase microextraction Arrow coating, in which nanosheets layered double hydroxides and poly(vinylpyrrolidone) were utilized as the extraction phase and poly(vinyl chloride) as the adhesive. This new coating entailed higher extraction capacity for several volatile organic compounds (allyl methyl sulfide, methyl propyl sulfide, 3‐pentanone, 2‐butanone, and methyl isobutyl ketone) compared to the commercial Carboxen 1000/polydimethylsiloxane coating. Fabrication parameters for the coating were optimized and extraction and desorption conditions were investigated. The validation of the new solid phase microextraction Arrow coating was accomplished using water sample spiked with volatile organic compounds. Under the optimal conditions, the limits of quantification for the five volatile organic compounds by the new solid phase microextraction Arrow coating and developed gas chromatography with mass spectrometry method were in the range of 0.2‐4.6 ng/mL. The proposed method was briefly applied for enrichment of volatile organic compounds in sludge.  相似文献

In this study, the experimental extraction conditions on applying headspace solid‐phase microextraction and cold fiber headspace solid‐phase microextraction (CF‐HS‐SPME) procedures to samples of six medicinal herbs commonly found in southern Brazil were optimized. The optimized conditions for headspace solid‐phase microextraction were found to be an extraction temperature of 60°C and extraction time of 40 min. For CF‐HS‐SPME, the corresponding values were 60°C and 15 min. In the case of the coating temperature for the CF‐HS‐SPME system, two approaches were investigated: (i) Temperature of 5°C applied during the whole extraction procedure; and (ii) the use of two fiber temperatures in the same extraction procedure with the aim of extracting the volatile and semivolatile compounds, the ideal condition being 60°C for the first 7.5 min and 5°C for the final 7.5 min. The three extraction procedures were compared. The CF‐HS‐SPME procedure had good performance only for the more volatile compounds whereas the strategy using two coating temperatures in the same procedure showed good performance for all compounds studied. It was also possible to determine the profile for the volatile fraction of each herb studied applying this technique followed by GC‐MS.  相似文献

A solid‐phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry method has been developed for the determination of ten nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water samples. Five different kinds of commerical fibers were used to compare the extraction efficiency, including 65 μm polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene, 100 μm polydimethylsiloxane, 30 μm polydimethylsiloxane, 7 μm polydimethylsiloxane, and 85 μm polyacrylate fibers. Five factors were also selected to optimize conditions, including extraction temperature, time, stirring speed, salt concentration, and headspace volume. Taguchi design was applied to design the experiments and obtain the best parameters. The results show that 65 μm polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene fiber directly immersed into aqueous solution for 35 min at 55°C with a constant stirring rate of 1150 rpm were the optimal conditions. Under these conditions, the limits of quantification were 0.007–0.063 μg/L, and the relative standard deviation based on six replicates ranged from 2.8 to 9.5%. The spiked recoveries ranged from 69.1 to 110.1%. Intra‐ and inter day relative standard deviations at three concentration levels were less than 12%, and the recoveries were 66.4–111.5%. The proposed method is reliable for analyzing nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in different water samples.  相似文献

A constant problem in veterinary medicine, human healthcare, agriculture, forestry and horticulture is the large number of pests, and the lack of effective methods to combat them which cause no harm to the rest of the environment. It is recommended and desired to reduce the use of chemicals and increase the use of agents based on knowledge acquired in the fields of biology, chemistry and agrochemicals. To learn the defense mechanisms of insects we should consider not only the site of their physiological ability to protect against external factors (cuticle), but also the possibility of chemical protection, formed by all compounds on the surface and in the body of insects. In this study, a procedure was developed to determine the esters of carboxylic acids in insect lipids. Headspace solid‐phase microextraction was followed by gas chromatography coupled with gas spectrometry. First, the best conditions were selected for the analysis to obtain the best chromatographic separation. An RTx‐5 column was used for this purpose. Polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB) and polyacrylate fibers were used to isolate acid esters. PDMS/DVB fiber achieved the best conditions for the extraction; the extraction time was 50 min, the extraction temperature was 105°C and the desorption time was 10 min at 230°C. These solid‐phase microextraction conditions were used to analyze volatile compounds extracted from insects belonging to the Dermestidae family.  相似文献

The frankincense resins, secreted from Boswellia species, are an uncommon example of a natural raw material where every class of terpenoids is present in similar proportions. Diterpenoids (serratol, incensole, and incensole acetate) are used to discriminate samples from different species and origins. Headspace solid‐phase microextraction has been used for frankincense analysis, although it requires long sampling time for medium‐ to low‐volatility markers; headspace solid‐phase microextraction under vacuum can overcome this limit. Gas chromatography is used for analysis but the separation of incensole and serratol needs polar stationary phases. In this study, we develop a method to discriminate frankincenses based on vacuum‐assisted headspace solid‐phase microextraction combined with fast gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry with ionic liquid–based stationary phases. The optimized conditions for solid samples were: air evacuation below 0°C, 15 min of incubation time, and 15 min of extraction time. Losses of volatiles due to vial air‐evacuation in the presence of the sample were minimized by sample amount above 100 mg and low sample temperature. Fast gas chromatography provides the baseline separation of all markers in 20 min. By applying vacuum sampling and fast gas chromatography, the total analysis was reduced to 50 min compared to 120 min (60 min sampling plus 60 min analysis) as previously reported. The method was successfully applied to commercial frankincense samples.  相似文献

Extraction of dry cured ham volatile compounds by solid-phase microextraction (SPME) was optimized. Different fiber coatings (carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane (CAR/PDMS), divinylbenzene/carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane (DVB/CAR/PDMS), polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene (PDMS/DVB)), times of extraction (15, 30, 60 min) and sample preparation (ground samples and homogenates with NaCl saturated solution) were assayed. CAR/PDMS and DVB/CAR/PDMS fiber coatings extracted more than 100 volatile compounds and showed the highest area counts for most volatile compounds. CAR/PDMS coating extracted better those compounds whose Kovats index (KI) was lower than 980 (on average) and DVB/CAR/PDMS those with higher KI. Fifteen minutes of extraction provided a volatile compound profile with lower area counts for most compounds and qualitatively different to that obtained with 30 and 60 min of extraction. Homogenates gave a different profile compared to ground samples, with lower total counts for most compounds but higher proportion of aldehydes, and presence of several compounds not found in ground samples.  相似文献

Modified stainless‐steel wires with a layer of polyaniline conductive polymer were coated by electrochemical deposition with Zn/Al layered double hydroxide to make solid‐phase microextraction fibers. The coating layer was also electrochemically deposited on the inner surface of a stainless‐steel tube. Then, ten prepared fibers were put inside the inner coated tube to make a fiber‐in‐tube solid phase microextraction device. The device was applied for the extraction of caffeine (1,3,7‐trimethylxanthine) from domestic wastewater samples. Extraction conditions including extraction and desorption times, pH and ionic strength of the sample solution, and content of the organic desorption solvent were investigated and optimized. Under the optimized conditions, the fiber‐in‐tube solid phase microextraction exhibited excellent extraction efficiency toward caffeine. The precision of the method was evaluated. Average relative standard deviation of 5.7% (n = 6) for intraday analysis and 8.3% (n = 5) for interday analysis was obtained. The limits of detection and limits of quantification of the method (at signal to noise ratio of 3 and 10) were obtained as 0.14 and 0.37 ng/mL, respectively. The current study can provide new prospective applications of layered double hydroxide conductive polymer fiber coatings.  相似文献

A solvent‐free method that uses headspace solid‐phase microextraction and gas chromatography with flame ionization detection is proposed for the determination of lignin‐derived phenols in sediments. The extraction and derivatization conditions for the simultaneous analysis of acetosyringone, acetovanillone, syringaldehyde, vanillin, ferulic acid, syringic acid, vanillic acid, p‐hydroxybenzoic acid, and p‐coumaric acid were optimized using a central composite design. After optimization, the best results were obtained with the following conditions: exposure of the polyacrylate fiber to the headspace with 60 μL of N ,O‐bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide as a derivatizing agent for 15 min and then extraction in the headspace of 100 mg of sediment (previously spiked with lignin‐derived phenols) for 35 min. The accuracy of the method was estimated based on recovery tests at two concentration levels and by comparison with a high‐performance liquid chromatography method reported in the literature. Based on the t‐test with a confidence level of 95%, no statistical differences were observed. The detection and quantification limits for the target compounds varied according to their characteristics: values at the microgram per gram level for nonacid compounds and milligram per gram level for phenolic acids, due to the lower volatility of the derivatives.  相似文献

A novel design of hollow‐fiber liquid‐phase microextraction containing multiwalled carbon nanotubes as a solid sorbent, which is immobilized in the pore and lumen of hollow fiber by the sol–gel technique, was developed for the pre‐concentration and determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental water samples. The proposed method utilized both solid‐ and liquid‐phase microextraction media. Parameters that affect the extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were optimized in two successive steps as follows. Firstly, a methodology based on a quarter factorial design was used to choose the significant variables. Then, these significant factors were optimized utilizing central composite design. Under the optimized condition (extraction time = 25 min, amount of multiwalled carbon nanotubes = 78 mg, sample volume = 8 mL, and desorption time = 5 min), the calibration curves showed high linearity (R 2 = 0.99) in the range of 0.01–500 ng/mL and the limits of detection were in the range of 0.007–1.47 ng/mL. The obtained extraction recoveries for 10 ng/mL of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons standard solution were in the range of 85–92%. Replicating the experiment under these conditions five times gave relative standard deviations lower than 6%. Finally, the method was successfully applied for pre‐concentration and determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental water samples.  相似文献

A novel infrared‐assisted extraction coupled to headspace solid‐phase microextraction followed by gas chromatography with mass spectrometry method has been developed for the rapid determination of the volatile components in tobacco. The optimal extraction conditions for maximizing the extraction efficiency were as follows: 65 μm polydimethylsiloxane‐divinylbenzene fiber, extraction time of 20 min, infrared power of 175 W, and distance between the infrared lamp and the headspace vial of 2 cm. Under the optimum conditions, 50 components were found to exist in all ten tobacco samples from different geographical origins. Compared with conventional water‐bath heating and nonheating extraction methods, the extraction efficiency of infrared‐assisted extraction was greatly improved. Furthermore, multivariate analysis including principal component analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, and similarity analysis were performed to evaluate the chemical information of these samples and divided them into three classifications, including rich, moderate, and fresh flavors. The above‐mentioned classification results were consistent with the sensory evaluation, which was pivotal and meaningful for tobacco discrimination. As a simple, fast, cost‐effective, and highly efficient method, the infrared‐assisted extraction coupled to headspace solid‐phase microextraction technique is powerful and promising for distinguishing the geographical origins of the tobacco samples coupled to suitable chemometrics.  相似文献

A low‐cost and simple cooling‐assisted headspace liquid‐phase microextraction device for the extraction and determination of 2,6,6‐trimethyl‐1,3 cyclohexadiene‐1‐carboxaldehyde (safranal) in Saffron samples, using volatile organic solvents, was fabricated and evaluated. The main part of the cooling‐assisted headspace liquid‐phase microextraction system was a cooling capsule, with a Teflon microcup to hold the extracting organic solvent, which is able to directly cool down the extraction phase while the sample matrix is simultaneously heated. Different experimental factors such as type of organic extraction solvent, sample temperature, extraction solvent temperature, and extraction time were optimized. The optimal conditions were obtained as: extraction solvent, methanol (10 μL); extraction temperature, 60°C; extraction solvent temperature, 0°C; and extraction time, 20 min. Good linearity of the calibration curve (R2 = 0.995) was obtained in the concentration range of 0.01–50.0 μg/mL. The limit of detection was 0.001 μg/mL. The relative standard deviation for 1.0 μg/mL of safranal was 10.7% (n = 6). The proposed cooling‐assisted headspace liquid‐phase microextraction device was coupled (off‐line) to high‐performance liquid chromatography and used for the determination of safranal in Saffron samples. Reasonable agreement was observed between the results of the cooling‐assisted headspace liquid‐phase microextraction high‐performance liquid chromatography method and those obtained by a validated ultrasound‐assisted solvent extraction procedure.  相似文献

Halitosis with the main components of trace volatile sulfur compounds widely affects the quality of life. In this study, an adaptable active sampling system with two sample‐collection modes of direct injection and solid‐phase microextraction was developed for the rapid and precise determination of trace volatile sulfur compounds in human halitosis coupled with gas chromatography–flame photometric detection. The active sampling system was well designed and produced for efficiently sampling and precisely determining trace volatile targets in halitosis under the optimized sampling and detection conditions. The analytical method established was successfully applied for the determination of trace targets in halitosis. The limits of detection of H2S, CH3SH, and CH3SCH3 by direct injection were 0.0140–23.0 μg/L with good recoveries ranging from 82.2 to 118% and satisfactory relative standard deviations of 0.4–9.5% (n = 3), respectively. The limit of detections of CH3SH and CH3SCH3 by solid‐phase microextraction were 2.03 and 0.186 × 10?3 μg/L with good recoveries ranging from 98.3 to 108% and relative standard deviations of 5.9–9.0% (n = 3). Trace volatile targets in positive real samples could be actually found and quantified by combination of direct injection and solid‐phase microextraction. This method was reliable and efficient for the determination of trace volatile sulfur compounds in halitosis.  相似文献

In this study, a new covalent organic framework, consisting of tetra(4‐aminophenyl)porphyrin and tris(4‐formyl phenyl)amine, was layer‐by‐layer immobilized on stainless‐steel wire as a coating for microextraction. The fabrication process was easy and controllable under mild conditions. The as‐grown fiber was applied to extract polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in aqueous solution via head‐space solid‐phase microextraction. Furthermore, it was analyzed by gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector. A wide linear range (0.1–50 µg/L), low limits of detection (0.006–0.024 µg/L, signal‐to‐noise ratio = 3), good repeatability (intra‐fiber, n = 6, 3.1–8.50%), and reproducibility (fiber to fiber; n = 3, 5.79–9.98%), expressed as relative standard deviations, demonstrate the applicability of the newly developed coating. This new material was successfully utilized in real sample extraction with a satisfactory result. Potential parameters affecting the extraction efficiency, including extraction temperature and extraction time, salt concentration, agitation speed, sample volume, desorption temperature, and time, were also optimized and discussed.  相似文献

A suitable analytical procedure based on static headspace solid-phase microextraction (SPME) followed by thermal desorption gas chromatography-ion trap mass spectrometry detection (GC-(ITD)MS), was developed and applied for the qualitative and semi-quantitative analysis of volatile components of Portuguese Terras Madeirenses red wines. The headspace SPME method was optimised in terms of fibre coating, extraction time, and extraction temperature. The performance of three commercially available SPME fibres, viz. 100 mum polydimethylsiloxane; 85 mum polyacrylate, PA; and 50/30 mum divinylbenzene/carboxen on polydimethylsiloxane, was evaluated and compared. The highest amounts extracted, in terms of the maximum signal recorded for the total volatile composition, were obtained with a PA coating fibre at 30 degrees C during an extraction time of 60 min with a constant stirring at 750 rpm, after saturation of the sample with NaCl (30%, w/v). More than sixty volatile compounds, belonging to different biosynthetic pathways, have been identified, including fatty acid ethyl esters, higher alcohols, fatty acids, higher alcohol acetates, isoamyl esters, carbonyl compounds, and monoterpenols/C(13)-norisoprenoids.  相似文献

Chitosan derivatives have been studied widely, but poor solubility in water restricts their applications. In this study, four types of amine‐based chitosan derivatives were prepared and modified further with beta‐cyclodextrin. The sequential microextraction of catechins ((+)‐catechin and (?)‐epigallocatechin gallate) from green tea powder by an optimized solid‐phase extraction method using these four derivatives was investigated. The optimal conditions for the extraction of catechins were 60°C for a 40 min extraction period. The purity and amount of each catechin were determined by high‐performance liquid chromatography. The different amines strengthened the extraction capacity of chitosan. Among the four types of amines, ethylene diamine grafted chitosan beta‐cyclodextrin had the highest extraction capacity to catechins. Therefore, this material was used in the extraction assay, and the standard curves of (+)‐catechin and (?)‐epigallocatechin gallate were linear over the concentration range, 0.25–500 µg/mL, after assaying five data points in duplicate. Solid‐phase extraction with the amino‐based chitosan beta‐cyclodextrin system is a new application of chitosan, which has potential applications in the extraction of bioactive compounds from plant materials or the removal of different impurities from specific extracts.  相似文献

We present an on‐line, single step coupling between liquid‐liquid extraction and capillary electrophoresis with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection, which allows an efficient analysis of complex food matrices with high sodium content. The sodium depletion was demonstrated using an aqueous two‐phase system. The aqueous two‐phase system enables the electrically driven extraction of the target compounds. The sample was prepared in Dextran‐rich phase (8% w/v 500 kDa Dextran, DEX). The background electrolyte (acetic acid 5.0 mol/L) contained 6% w/v of 6 kDa PEG. As proof of applicability, we employed the developed method for glutamic acid quantification on soy sauces. The peak area of glutamic acid presents no significant difference (α = 0.05), while the peak area of the sodium presented a reduction of 11.7 ± 0.2 and 19 ± 3% for premium and low‐cost soy sauce samples analyzed. The glutamic acid concentration for premium soy sauce sample was 2.7 ± 0.8 and 4.8 ± 0.4 g/L, and for low‐cost soy sauce sample, the concentration was 9.9 ± 0.9 g/L, which agreed with those obtained by other analytical techniques.  相似文献

A kind of molecularly imprinted polymers modified with biocompatible medium was prepared by suspension polymerization. The obtained hybrid materials were used as the adsorbents for the solid‐phase extraction of aflatoxins B1 in real samples. A structural analog of the target, 6‐methyl‐4‐phenylchroman‐2‐one was used as the pseudo‐template, owing to their lower toxicity and cheaper price compared with aflatoxins B1; and methacrylic acid and glycidyl methacrylate were used as the co‐monomers. Scanning electron microscopy and size distribution analysis were used to characterize the obtained polymers. The extraction parameters were optimized to achieve the desired extraction performance. The polymer solid‐phase extraction coupled with high‐performance liquid chromatography was successfully applied to determine aflatoxins B1 from soy sauce without the process of protein removal. Under the optimum extraction conditions, the detection results of aflatoxins B1 in lab‐made column in soy sauce samples was carried out, with a recovery rate of 96%. The established method presented a linear range from 10 to 1000 ng/mL with the coefficient of determination of 0.9994 and the limit of detection of 0.05 ng/mL. Likewise, the inherent selectivity of lab‐made column towards aflatoxins B1, Ochratoxin A, and Zearalenone was demonstrated.  相似文献

The quantification of three alkaloids is important because quantitative study is a means of assessing the reliability of the experimental method, and three alkaloids of peimine, peiminine, and peimisine are main active ingredients in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2015. An effective method based on the matrix solid‐phase dispersion microextraction was developed for the extraction of alkaloid compounds in Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus. Target analytes were analyzed by capillary electrophoresis coupled with quadrupole time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry. The optimized experimental condition was that 50 mg Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus was blended homogeneously with 10 mg citric acid for 5 min. Two hundred microliters of water acidized by 1 mol/L hydrochloric acid (pH = 4.5) was selected to elute tested alkaloids. The results demonstrated that the investigated method had low limits of detection (1.32–1.59 ng/mL), good recoveries (86.63–98.12%), and reproducibility (relative standard deviations of peak areas < 0.87%). The proposed matrix solid‐phase dispersion microextraction coupled with capillary electrophoresis combined with quadrupole time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry was successfully applied for the extraction of alkaloids in plants.  相似文献
