设计并合成了7种新型甲壳型液晶高分子,研究了液晶基元的化学结构和立体效应对单体及其聚合物液晶性的影响.发现在液晶基元的末端引入极性或可极化的原子基团提高了单体的熔点和液晶相的热稳定性;液晶基元的长径比越大,单体的熔点和清亮点越高;聚合使单体的液晶稳定性增加、液晶相温度范围变宽;侧链液晶基元的极性、刚性和空阻越大,聚合物的玻璃化温度越高;酰胺基团无论是在分子的末端还是在连接部位,都使单体的熔点和聚合物的玻璃化温度提高,但在分子末端时液晶相较稳定,作为中心桥键时不利于液晶相的稳定形成.  相似文献

合成了燕尾型液晶单体4-(3,5-二乙酰氧基)苯甲酰氧基-4′-对烯丙氧基苯甲酰氧基联苯(M),手性液晶单体4-烯丙氧基苯甲酰氧基异丙酰氧基胆甾基酯(N),将它们与聚甲基含氢硅氧烷接枝共聚,得到燕尾型手性侧链液晶聚合物PW1~PW6。通过红外、核磁共振、差示扫描量热、偏光显微镜和热重分析等手段对所合成单体及聚合物的结构、液晶相行为及热稳定性进行了研究。结果表明,PW1~PW6为互变胆甾相热致液晶,升降温均呈现彩色Grandjean织构,液晶区间宽泛在102~160℃之间,5%热失重温度达303℃以上,热稳定性良好。  相似文献

聚丙烯酸酯侧链液晶聚合物的合成与表征   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
以对羟基苯甲酸、氯乙醇和丙烯酸为主要原料,经醚化、酯化和酰氯化反应合成了中间体和含液晶基元的丙烯酸酯单体,后者经自由基聚合合成了聚丙烯酸酯侧链液晶聚合物。用偏光显微镜观察了单体和聚合物的织态结构,用DSC和IR对聚合物进行了表征。结果表明,单体和聚合物均呈现向列型液晶织态结构,聚合物在较宽的温度范围内有很好的液晶性。  相似文献

合成了含液晶基元侧基的二氨基化合物——— 3,5 二氨基苯甲酸 4′ 联苯酯 ,并以 3,3′ 4,4′ 二苯醚四羧酸二酐 (ODPA)、二氨基二苯醚 (ODA)为共聚单体 ,制备了具有液晶侧链原位复合自增强功能的新型聚酰亚胺 (PI)薄膜材料 .这种含液晶基元侧链的PI能溶解在极性非质子有机溶剂中 ,显示出良好的可加工性能 .由于液晶基元侧链的原位复合自增强作用 ,该类膜材料显示出良好的力学性能和热稳定性能在热台偏光显微镜下观察 ,该类聚合物在较高的温度区域内显示液晶行为 ,并呈现向列相织构  相似文献

通过改变侧链中柔性间隔基的长度,合成了一系列含有两个手性中心的侧链液晶(甲基)丙烯酸酯类聚合物.红外、核磁和GPC表征各中间体、单体及聚合物的结构和分子量.通过DSC和热台偏光显微镜系统地研究了单体和聚合物的液晶态织构.结果表明,含有六个碳的柔性间隔基的丙烯酸酯类聚合物表现为近晶SA和手性近晶SC^*液晶相.  相似文献

采用大单体与小单体共聚的技术,通过自由基引发溶液聚合,合成了一系列水溶性梳状聚合物———聚丙烯酸接枝聚乙二醇单甲醚(PAA-g-mPEG).制备过程分两步进行,首先合成大单体聚乙二醇单甲醚丙烯酸酯,然后将大单体与丙烯酸单体共聚,合成了梳状聚合物.通过控制反应条件,获得了一系列主链和支链组成比不同的接枝共聚物.用傅立叶变换红外光谱(FT-IR)和核磁共振氢谱(1H-NMR)表征了共聚物的结构,并对其侧链的结晶行为进行了研究.采用差热扫描量热法(DSC)表征并分析了不同侧链长度的mPEG的热性能及其结晶情况.利用相差显微镜和原子力显微镜(AFM)观察薄膜的结晶形貌,表明梳状聚合物的侧链mPEG在受限条件下的薄膜结晶形貌为高度支化的晶体,初步分析了mPEG链长及其在共聚物中的重量百分含量对晶体形貌的影响.  相似文献

甲壳型液晶聚合物(mesogen-jacketed liquid crystal polymer,MJLCP)是1987年由周其凤教授[1]首先提出的概念.从化学结构看,甲壳型液晶聚合物属于侧链型,由烯类单体经链式聚合制得,容易得到高分子量的产物,具有一般柔性侧链型液晶聚合物的一些优点.但是与柔性侧链型液晶聚合物不同的是,MJLCP分子中的刚性液晶基元是通过腰部或重心位置与主链相联结的,在主链与刚性液晶基元的侧基之间只有很短或者没有柔性间隔基.由于在这类液晶聚合物的分子主链周围空间内刚性液晶基元的密度很高,分子主链被由液晶基元形成的外壳所包裹并被迫采取相对伸直的刚性链构象.因此,这类液晶聚合物又和主链型刚性链液晶聚合物相似,具有较明显的链刚性.近年来,周其凤课题组围绕甲壳型液晶聚合物深入开展了分子设计与合成、分子结构与性能等多方面的研究.其中,设计合成具有特定功能的甲壳型液晶聚合物是在以往研究工作和学科交叉融合的基础上发展起来的一项新的研究工作.将一些有特殊功能的基团引入到甲壳型液晶聚合物中会使其具有崭新的特性.  相似文献

对一系列具有不同长度间隔基的含联苯基团的侧链液晶聚炔的稳态荧光和荧光衰减行为进行了研究.为便于比较,选取其中一个单体作为模型化合物.稳态荧光光谱结果表明,聚合物和单体均显示一个荧光发射,该荧光发射来源于聚合物侧链的联苯基团.随着间隔基长度的减小,聚合物的荧光强度降低.荧光衰减结果表明单体的荧光衰减可以拟合为一个单指数衰减,而聚合物的荧光衰减拟合为三指数衰减.这种三指数衰减可能由溶液局部高浓度引起的猝灭和侧链联苯基团的旋转受阻所引起.溶剂效应表明,溶剂与联苯基团之间的相互作用随溶剂极性增加而增大.  相似文献

采用饥饿态半连续种子乳液聚合方法, 在十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)/辛基苯基聚氧乙烯醚(TX-10)复合乳化剂的作用下, 分别选用甲基丙烯酸三氟乙酯(TFEM)、甲基丙烯酸六氟正丁酯(HFBM)和甲基丙烯酸十二氟庚酯(DFHM)为含氟单体, 合成以丙烯酸正丁酯(BA)、甲基丙烯酸甲酯(MMA)和含氟单体为原料的核壳型结构含氟丙烯酸酯共聚物乳液. FTIR, 1H NMR, TEM和DSC分析结果显示, 获得了BA/MMA/含氟单体的共聚物乳液, 且乳液具有明显的核壳结构. DSC, TGA和SEM-EDX的分析显示, 核壳型结构的共聚物具有优异的热力学稳定性能和成膜性能; 长侧链或短侧链含氟单体对共聚物的热稳定性影响不明显, 但侧链较长的含氟单体所获得的聚合物在成膜过程中更易向表面迁移, 更能体现含氟聚合物的优点.  相似文献

合成了两种含有联苯刚性基元的甲基丙烯酸酯单体M1和M2,其中M1为含有可光交联的肉桂酸酯端基的单体.通过溶液自由基聚合,得到一系列含不同比例M1和M2单体单元的聚丙烯酸酯类侧链液晶共聚物.采用1H-NMR、FT-IR等方法对单体和聚合物的结构进行了详细表征.用示差扫描量热法、偏光显微镜以及广角和小角X-射线衍射对单体和聚合物的液晶性进行了研究.结果表明,末端为肉桂酸酯基团的单体M1无液晶性,其均聚物P1有微弱的液晶性,而端基为正丁基的单体M2及其均聚物P9则表现出近晶相液晶行为.共聚物P2~P5均为向列型液晶,P6~P9则为近晶型液晶.随在聚合物中M2单体含量的增加,共聚物的玻璃化转变温度、熔点及清亮点温度均呈现增加趋势.  相似文献

Side‐chain liquid‐crystalline polymers (SCLCPs) as nucleating agents for high‐density polyethylene (HDPE) were investigated. For this purpose, the molecular architectures of four different vinyl monomers with liquid‐crystalline properties were designed and prepared with 1‐butanol, 1‐pentanol, 4‐hydroxybenzoic acid, hydroquinone, and acryloyl chloride as the starting materials through alkylation and acylation reactions. The corresponding polymers were synthesized by homopolymerization in 1,4‐dioxane with benzoyl peroxide as the initiator at 60 °C. Both the monomers and the synthesized polymers were characterized with elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared, and 1H NMR measurements. Differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and hot stage polarized optical microscopy were employed to study the phase‐transition temperature, mesophase texture, and thermal stability of the liquid‐crystalline polymers. The results showed that all the polymers had thermotropic liquid‐crystalline features. Being used as nucleating agents, SCLCPs effectively increased both the crystallization temperature and rate and, at the same time, raised the crystallinity for HDPE. In comparison with common small‐molecule nucleating agents, such as 1,3:2,4‐dibenzylidenesorbitol, SCLCPs are more efficient and are indeed excellent nucleating agents for HDPE. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Series of thiophenes containing mesogenic side chains at the 3rd position are synthesized. The thermal transitions and thermal stability of the synthesized monomers and polymers are studied. The polarizing microscopic studies of synthesized monomers showed nematic liquid crystalline phase and these mesophases further confirmed by differential scanning calorimetric study. The obtained melting and the isotropic temperatures decrease linearly with the increase of aliphatic chain length. The transition temperatures determined from DSC analysis, overlap well with the temperatures obtained from optical microscopy studies. Thermal stability of the compounds is analysed using thermogravimetric studies. Thermal stability of monomers and polymers has been determined by calculating IPDT values. Structural influence on thermal degradation patterns of monomers and polymers are also discussed.  相似文献

Ferrocene‐containing polyphosphate and phosphonate esters were synthesized by the solution polycondensation method. The structure of the polymers was confirmed using various spectroscopic techniques. The formation of two types of chain blocks was confirmed by 31P NMR spectroscopy. Hot stage optical polarized microscope (HOPM) analysis revealed that all the polymers have a liquid–crystalline property. The char yields of the synthesized similar polymers were much higher than those of nonphosphorus polymers already reported in the literature. DSC analysis confirmed our predictions over the liquid–crystalline property, glass‐transition temperature, isotropization temperature, and thermal stability of the polymers. The effects of substitution on the side chain, structure of the liquid‐–crystalline phase, and thermal stability of the polymers have also been discussed. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Supramolecular side chain liquid crystalline polymers (SCLCPs) based on poly(3-carboxypropylmethylsiloxane-co-dimethylsiloxane) (PSIX, X=100, 76, 60, 41 or 23, denoting the mole percentage of 3-carboxypropylmethylsiloxane unit in the polymer) and stilbazole derivatives have been obtained through intermolecular hydrogen bonding (H-bonding) interactions between the carboxylic acid and the pyridyl moieties. The formation of H-bonding and self-assembly results in the formation of new mesogenic units, in which H-bonds function as molecular connectors. FTIR shows the existence of H-bonding in the complexes. The polymeric complexes behave as single component liquid crystalline polymers and exhibit stable and enantiotropic mesophases. The liquid crystalline properties of the supramolecular SCLCPs were studied using differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction, and were found to exhibit smectic A phases with focal-conic textures. The thermal stability of the SCLCP increases on increasing the carboxylic acid content in the polysiloxane and the concentration of the stilbazole derivative in the complex. However, the thermal stability decreases on increasing the chain length of the stilbazole derivative. The crystal phase was not formed even on cooling to the glass transition temperature of the polymeric complex.  相似文献

以自由基聚合方法,合成了一系列含有三个苯环通过酯键相联的液晶性单体及其聚合物.在这类新的液晶高分子中,刚性液晶基元不通过柔性间隔基而直接竖挂在聚甲基丙烯酸酯大分子主链上.这些高分子有很高的玻璃化转变温度,表明其分子链刚性较大,因而代表了一类新的刚性链侧链型液晶高分子.它们的液晶行为用DSC、偏光显微镜和X-光衍射进行了表征.发现所有单体和聚合物均为向列型热致性液晶.  相似文献

A series of novel mesogenic polyamides containing a flexible pendent side group wassynthesized by solution condensation polymerization. The new monomers, diacids and di-amines containing flexible elements of diferent lengths, were also synthesized and character-ized by ~1HNMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The polymers were character-ized by viscosity measurements, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffiactionand polarizing optical microscopy These studies revealed that polyamides containingflexible elements of a sufficient length exhibited thermotropic liquid crystalline(LC) pro-perties. The melting temperatures of this series of polymers were particularly sensitive tothe length of the flexible segment on the main chain and that of the flexible pendent esterside chain. Lyotropic LC behaviours were also observed in solution.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of spacer length and linkages between the rigid mesogenic core and the terminal group on the molecular interaction and physical properties of polymers, two series of novel side chain liquid crystalline polyacrylates were synthesized. These were composed of liquid crystalline monomers with six or eleven methylene segments as spacers, and chiral monomers end capped with menthyl or cholesteryl groups. Liquid crystalline phases of the polymers were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscopy, and confirmed with X‐ray diffractometry. Color image recording of the synthesized polymer films was achieved using a thermal treatment, and then fixed by quenching. This investigation demonstrates that the introduction of carbonate linking groups between the rigid mesogenic core and terminal group decreases both the lateral molecular interaction and thermal stability of the liquid crystalline polymers. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
