Synthesis and Characterization of Nickel(Ⅱ) and Copper(Ⅱ) Complexes with Schiff Base (1R,2R)-(-)-Diaminocyclohexane-N,N'-bis(3-tert-butyl-5-(4'-benzoic acid)-salicylidene)

Two homochiral metallosalen complexes,Ni(salen) (salen=(1R,2R)-(-)-diaminocyclohexane-N,N'-bis(3-tert-butyl-5-(4'-benzoic acid)-salicylidene) 1 and Cu(salen) 2,have been synthesized and characterized by IR,microanalysis,TGA,powder and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Both 1 and 2 crystallize in orthorhombic space group P2_12_12 with Z=4. For 1,α= 12.082(2),b = 15.447(3),c = 18.784(4)(A),V= 3505.7(12) (A)~3,M_r = 731.50,D_c = 1.386 g/cm~3,μ= 0.606 mm~(-1),F(000)=1544,the final GOOF=1.043,R=0.0496 and wR=0.1248 for 4791 observed reflections with Ⅰ> 2σ(Ⅰ). For 2,α=12.181(2),b=15.501(3),c=18.877(4)(A),V= 3564.3(12)(A)~3,M_r=736.33,Dc = 1.372 g/cm~3,μ=0.665 mm~(-1),F(000)=1548,the final GOOF= 1.062,R=0.0575 and wR=0.1508 for 4562 observed reflections with Ⅰ> 20(Ⅰ). The crystal structures of 1 and 2 are isostructural with very similar supramolecular structures. An infinite two-dimensional network is generated by hydrogen bonding interactions and intermolecular π…π interactions.

Synthesis and Structure of a Hydrogen-bonding Assembled Three-dimensional Supramolecular Indium（Ⅲ） Compound Involving One-dimensional Helices

The title compound [In（H2ip）（pdc）（H2O）] （H3ip = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, H2Pdc = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid） has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 13.830（8）, b = 6.488（4）, c = 17.632（10）A^°, β = 92.510（10）°, C15H10InNO10, Mr= 479.06, V = 1580.6（15）A^°3, Z = 4, De= 2.013 g/cm^3, F（000） = 944,μ = 1.557 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0413 and wR = 0.0793 for 2950 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. The In（Ⅲ） ion is seven-coordinated in a slightly distorted penta-bipyramidal geometry. The mixed ligands connect the In（Ⅲ） ions into 21 helical chains along the [010] direction, and the hydrogen bonds assemble the chains into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.     

A Layered Vanadium Oxide with Cobalt（Ⅱ） Coordination Complex： Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of （py）5Co2（H2O）3[V4O12]

A novel layered mixed metal vanadium-cobadt complex, （py）5Co2（H2O）3[V4O12] 1 （py = pyridine）, was hydro（solvo）thermally synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in orthorhombic, space group Pca21 with a = 17.473（4）, b = 11.447（2）, c = 17.509（4）A^°, V = 5005.3（7）A^°3, Z = 4, Mr = 3502.1（12）, Z = 4, Dc = 1.827 g/cm^3,μ（MoKα） = 2.023 mm^-1, F（000） = 1928, S = 1.020, the final R = 0.0400 and wR= 0.1063 for 6035 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I） and 460 variables. Complex 1 consists of tetrahedral VO4 groups to form the large layers which are alternately bonded by two cobalt complex species Co（py）2（H2O）2 and Co（py）3（H2O）.     

A CuCN-Based Coordination Polymer with Abundant Supramolecular Interactions

Solvothermal reaction of copper(I) cyanide (CuCN) with triphenylphosphine (Ph3P) in anhydrous tetrahydrofuran (THF) leads to a CuCN-based coordination polymer Cu3(CN)3(PPh3)4 (1) by using standard Schlenk techniques. This complex crystallizes in triclinic,space group P1 with a = 13.281(7),b = 13.330(7),c = 20.654(11) ,α = 103.028(5),β = 96.824(5),γ = 101.916(5)°,V = 3433(3) 3,Dc = 1.275 g/cm3,Z = 2,C75H60Cu3N3P4,Mr = 1317.76,μ = 1.057 mm-1,λ(MoKα) = 0.71073  and F(000) = 1356. 6975 observed reflections with I 2σ(I) and 766 parameters gave R = 0.0669,wR = 0.1403 and S = 1.005. The structure exhibits a special stair-like chain along the [111] direction constructed from cyanide groups alternately connecting the Cu(I) and Cu(PPh3)2 moieties. These stair-like chains are further stacked together via abundant π-π and C-H···π interactions to form a 3-D structure.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Bi（Hsal）3（1,10- phenanthroline） （Hsal = O2CC6H4-2-OH）

A new bismuth compound Bi（Hsal）3（1,10-phenanthroline） （Hsal = O2CC6H4-2-OH） has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1, with a = 10.243（2）, b = 11.905（3）, c = 12.934（3） A, α= 76.780（6）, β= 68.683（6）,γ= 80.930（7）°, V = 1425.6（5） A^3, Dc = 1.865 g/cm^3, Mr = 800.51, F（000） = 780, μ= 6.247 mm^-1, Z = 2, R = 0.0456 and wR = 0.1131 for 5612 observed reflections （I 〉 2σ（I））. In this compound, three salicylate ligands coordinate to the Bi atom through the carboxylate groups to form a four-membered chelate ring, and phenanthroline ligand chelates the metal through two N atoms. The structure of the title compound manifests a possible coordination mode between bismuth subsalicylate and N atom containing amino acid in the biological system.     

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 1,4,7,10-Tetrakis （2-（（4-hydroxy）phenoxy）ethyl）-1,4,7,10- tetraazacyclododecane

A novel molecule tetra-N-alkylation of cyclen （1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane）, 1,4,7,10-tetrakis（2-（（4-hydroxy）phenoxy）ethyl）-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane 2, was synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The molecule turned into chiral helical compound crystals grown from EtOH by slow diffusion at room temperature and three of the four hydroquinone groups of the benzene ring formed a g-electron-rich cavity by C-H…π stacking interaction. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic system, space group P21/C with a = 13.9192（9）, b = 13.2871（6）, c = 22.1894（15）A^°, β = 91.4600（10）°, V = 4102.5（4）A^°3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.219 g/cm^3, C40H52N4O8, Mr = 752.89, F（000） = 1616,μ = 0.088 mm^-1, MoKa radiation （λ = 0.71073）, R = 0.0578 and wR = 0.1389 for 5588 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. Moreover, compound 2 was characterized with ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR, IR spectra and MS.     

Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Zinc(Ⅱ) Polymer with a Two-dimensional Layer Structure: [Zn(pzdc)(phen)] n·nH_2O

A metal-organic coordination compound formulated as [Zn(pzdc)(phen)] n·nH_2O 1 (H_2pzdc=pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid,phen=1,10-phenanthroline) has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis,IR,fluorescence spectrum and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system,space group P2_(1/n) with α=11.607(2),b=11.719(2),c=13.140(3)(A),β=110.707(3)°,V=1671.9(6)(A)~3,C_(18)H_(12)ZnN_4O_5,Mr=429.69,D_c=1.707 g/cm~3,μ(MoKα)=1.511 mm~(-1),F(000)=872,Z=4,the final R=0.0356 and wR=0.0853 for 2713 observed reflections (Ⅰ> 2σ(Ⅰ). It exhibits an interesting two-dimensional layer structure and shows yellow photoluminescent property at room temperature.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of the Ring-opening of Amino-oxazoline

The compound C12H19Cl2N20·1/2H2O was obtained as the by-product of synthesizing silylene-bridged amino-oxazoline, and its structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystal is of triclinic, space group P1, with a = 12.132（5）, b = 12.231（5）, c = 16.435（6） A^°, α = 97.485（8）, β = 106.106（7）,γ = 98.538（7）°, λ = 0.7103 A^°, V = 2279.0（15）A^°3, Z = 6, Dc = 1.251 g/cm^3, Mr = 286.19, F（000） = 906, R = 0.0846 and wR = 0.2295 for 6290 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ（I）. It is a Cl-salt. The compound was composed of phenyl, amino ion and amido derivatives. The aforementioned components were held together into a complicated three-dimensional network through three types of hydrogen bonding interactions.     

A New Supramolecular Compound Based on Cd（II）-Schiff-base and Keggin-type [PMo_（12）O_（40）]~3

A new supramolecular compound, {[Cd(L)2]2[PMo12O40NO3]·CH3CN·2H2O}n 1 (L is 1,4-bis(4-imidazolyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene), based on Cd(II)-Schiff-base and Keggin- type [PMo12O40]3- was synthesized via self-assembly and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal is of triclinic, space group P1 with a = 12.0128(11), b = 13.6196(13), c = 13.9995(13) , α = 103.868(2), β = 95.225(2), γ = 101.024(2)°, V = 2160.0(3) 3, Z = 1, C34H39N26O45Cd2Mo12P, Mr = 2938.96, Dc = 2.259 g/cm3, μ = 2.276 mm-1, F(000) = 1400, the final R = 0.0565 and wR = 0.1613 for 4973 observed reflections with I 2σ(I). The crystal structure can be described by the packing of Keggin anionic and Metal-Schiff-base cationic layers.

A new cyanide-bridged bimetallic assembly [Mn(3-meosalpn)(H2O)]2[Fe(CN)5NO](1) was obtained by the reaction of [Fe(CN)5NO]2-with [Mn(3-meosalpn)]+,and characterized by elemental analysis,IR and single-crystal X-ray structure analysis.The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system,space group P21/c with a = 12.992(5),b = 13.274(6),c = 14.644(6) ,β = 115.198(4)o,V = 2285.2(16)3,Z = 2,C43H44FeMn2N10O11,Mr = 1042.61,Dc = 1.515 g/cm3,F(000) = 1072,μ = 0.928 mm-1,S = 1.052,the final R = 0.0347 and wR = 0.0957 for 17377 observed reflections(Ⅰ 2σ(Ⅰ)).X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis reveals that 1 has a trinuclear molecular structure,in which the two [Mn(3-meosalpn)(H2O)]+ cations are linked by the central [Fe(CN)5NO]2-anion via two trans CN-groups.Furthermore,the two [Mn(3-meo-salpn)(H2O)]+ cations and [Fe(CN)5NO]2-anion are connected into a one-dimensional zigzag chain through hydrogen bonding interactions.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 2-Methoxy-benzoic Acid 2-Oxo-3-（2,4,6-trimethyl-phenyl）-1-oxa-spiro[4.4]non-3-en-4-yl Ester

The new title compound 2-methoxy-benzoic acid 2-oxo-3-(2,4,6-trimethyl-phenyl)-1-oxa-spiro[4.4]non-3-en-4-yl ester(3,C25H26O5) has been synthesized by the condensation reaction of 4-hydroxy-3-(2,4,6-trimethyl-phenyl)-1-oxa-spiro[4.4]non-3-en-2-one(2) with 2-methoxylben-zoyl chloride,and characterized by 1H NMR and MS spectra.Its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.The crystal is of monoclinic,space group P21/c with a = 10.6945(7),b = 12.8176(7),c = 16.4223(10) ,β = 103.5665(17)o,V = 2188.3(2) 3,Z = 4,Dc = 1.234 g/cm3,F(000) = 864.000,μ = 0.085 mm-1,the final R = 0.0520 and wR = 0.1132 for 2732 observed reflections with I 2σ(I).In the crystal structure,the C(1)-C(2)(1.478 ) bond is significantly shorter than the normal single C-C bond(1.53 ),suggesting that the carbonyl group on C(1) has formed a conjugated system with a double bond on C(2) and C(12).

A novel lactone derived from dehydroabietic acid,C20H21BrO4,has been charac-terized by IR,1H NMR,13C NMR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction method.It crystallizes in orthorhombic,space group P212121 with a = 6.4195(15),b = 11.535(3),c = 24.654(6) ,V = 1825.5(7) 3,Z = 4,Mr = 405.28,Dc = 1.475 g/cm3,λ = 0.71075 ,μ(MoKα) = 2.27 mm-1,F(000) = 832,the final R = 0.024 and wR = 0.045 for 2152 observed reflections with I 2σ(I).The molecules of lactone are mainly linked through intermolecular hydrogen bonds.     

Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a New Manganese(Ⅱ) Complex with 2,4-Pyridine-dicarboxylic Acid and 2,2'-Bipyridine Ligands

A new metal-organic complex [Mn_2(PDC)_2(bipy)_2(H_2O)_2] (H_2PDC=2,4-pyridinedicarboxylic acid,bipy=2,2'-bipyridine) 1 has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis,IR spectrum,TG and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound crystallizes in triclinic,space group P~(-)1 with α=7.376(3),b=9.990(4),c=11.950(5)(A),α=75.217(5),β=78.052(5),γ=70.655(5)°,V=796.0(5)(A)~3,C_(34)H_(26)Mn_2N_(6O)O_(10),M_r=788.49,D_c= 1.645 g/cm~3,μ(MoKa) = 0.866 mm~(-1),F(000)=235,Z=1,the final R=0.0425 and wR=0.0700 for 1971 observed reflections (Ⅰ > 2σ(Ⅰ)). In the crystal structure,the manganese atom is six-coordinated by two carboxylate oxygen atoms from two different PDC ligands,one aqua ligand,and three nitrogen atoms from 2,2'-bipy and PDC ligands,giving a distorted octahedral geometry. It exhibits a three-dimensional supramolecular network defined by O-H…O hydrogen-bonding interactions.
