In this study, we developed an approach to fabricate novel 1D Ag NWs‐Ag NPs hybrid substrate for enhanced fluorescene detection of protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) based on surface plasmon‐enhanced fluorescence. The Ag NWs‐Ag NPs hybrid was synthesized by combining the hydrothermal method and self‐assembly method with the asisstance of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). When the Ag NWs‐Ag NPs hybrid was deposited on the glass substrate and employed as active substrate to detect PpIX, the fluorescence intensity of PpIX was enhanced greatly due to the coupling effect of localized surface plasmon‐localized surface plasmon (LSP‐LSP) and localized surface plasmon‐surface plasmon propagation (LSP‐SPP) which induced great enhancement of the electromagnetic field. Furthermore, the enhancement effect was approximately linear when the concentration of PpIX was ranged from 1×10?7 mol/L to 2×10?5 mol/L, and the photobleaching phenomenon of PpIX was reduced greatly, indicating that the fabricated Ag NWs‐Ag NPs hybrid substrate had well performance for PpIX imaging. This work provides an effective approach to prepare highly sensitive and stable fluorescence enhancement substrate, and has great potential application in fluorescence imaging.  相似文献

Au nanoparticles (NPs) functionalized with thioaniline and cysteine are used to assemble bis‐aniline‐bridged Au‐NP composites on Au surfaces using an electropolymerization process. During the polymerization of the functionalized Au NPs in the presence of different amino acids, for example, L ‐glutamic acid, L ‐aspartic acid, L ‐histidine, and L ‐phenylalanine, zwitterionic interactions between the amino acids and the cysteine units linked to the particles lead to the formation of molecularly imprinted sites in the electropolymerized Au‐NP composites. Following the elimination of the template amino acid molecules, the electropolymerized matrices reveal selective recognition and binding capabilities toward the imprinted amino acid. Furthermore, by imprinting of L ‐glutamic or D ‐glutamic acids, chiroselective imprinted sites are generated in the Au‐NP composites. The binding of amino acids to the imprinted recognition sites was followed by surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy. The refractive index changes occurring upon the binding of the amino acids to the imprinted sites are amplified by the coupling between the localized plasmon associated with the Au NPs and the surface plasmon wave.  相似文献

Hollow SiO2/TiO2 nanoparticles decorated with Ag nanoparticles (NPs) of controlled size (Ag@HNPs) were fabricated in order to enhance visible‐light absorption and improve light scattering in dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). They exhibited localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) and the LSPR effects were significantly influenced by the size of the Ag NPs. The absorption peak of the LSPR band dramatically increased with increasing Ag NP size. The LSPR of the large Ag NPs mainly increased the light absorption at short wavelengths, whereas the scattering from the SiO2/TiO2 HNPs improved the light absorption at long wavelengths. This enabled the working electrode to use the full solar spectrum. Furthermore, the SiO2 layer thickness was adjusted to maximize the LSPR from the Ag NPs and avoid corrosion of the Ag NPs by the electrolyte. Importantly, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) increased from 7.1 % with purely TiO2‐based DSSCs to 8.1 % with HNP‐based DSSCs, which is an approximately 12 % enhancement and can be attributed to greater light scattering. Furthermore, the PCEs of Ag@HNP‐based DSSCs were 11 % higher (8.1 vs. 9.0 %) than the bare‐HNP‐based DSSCs, which can be attributed to LSPR. Together, the PCE of Ag@HNP‐based DSSCs improved by a total of 27 %, from 7.1 to 9.0 %, due to these two effects. This comparative research will offer guidance in the design of multifunctional nanomaterials and the optimization of solar‐cell performance.  相似文献

DNA and RNA analysis is of high importance for clinical diagnoses, forensic analysis, and basic studies in the biological and biomedical fields. In this paper, we report the ultrahighly sensitive homogeneous detection of DNA and microRNA by using a novel single‐silver‐nanoparticle counting (SSNPC) technique. The principle of SSNPC is based on the photon‐burst counting of single silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) in a highly focused laser beam (about 0.5 fL detection volume) due to Brownian motion and the strong resonance Rayleigh scattering of single Ag NPs. We first investigated the performance of the SSNPC system and then developed an ultrasensitive homogeneous detection method for DNA and microRNA based on this single‐nanoparticle technique. Sandwich nucleic acid hybridization models were utilized in the assays. In the hybridization process, when two Ag‐NP–oligonucleotide conjugates were mixed in a sample containing DNA (or microRNA) targets, the binding of the targets caused the Ag NPs to form dimers (or oligomers), which led to a reduction in the photon‐burst counts. The SSNPC method was used to measure the change in the photon‐burst counts. The relationship between the change of the photon‐burst counts and the target concentration showed a good linearity. This method was used for the assay of sequence‐specific DNA fragments and microRNAs. The detection limits were at about the 1 fM level, which is 2–5 orders of magnitude more sensitive than current homogeneous methods.  相似文献

This paper describes unique plasmonic characteristics of two dimensional (2D) crystalline sheets composed of homogeneous Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) fabricated by the Langmuir-Schaefer method at an air-water interface. The localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) band of the Ag nanosheet was tuned by changing the interparticle distance of AgNPs via the length of the organic capping molecules. Red shift of the LSPR band of the AgNPs sheet followed an exponential law against the interparticle distance in a similar manner to the previous reports of metal nanodisc pairs. However, the shift was much larger and less dependent on the interparticle separation gap. This phenomenon is reasonably interpreted as the long-range interaction of LSPR in the 2D sheet ('delocalized' LSPR) confirmed by simulation using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The FDTD simulation also revealed additional enhancement of local electric fields on the 2D sheet compared to those on the single or paired particles.  相似文献

Metal‐enhanced processes arising from the coupling of a dye with metallic nanoparticles (NPs) have been widely reported. However, few studies have simultaneously investigated these mechanisms from the viewpoint of dye fluorescence and photoactivity. Herein, protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) is grafted onto the surface of silver core silica shell NPs in order to investigate the effect of silver (Ag) localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) on PpIX fluorescence and PpIX singlet oxygen (1O2) production. Using two Ag core sizes, we report a systematic study of these photophysical processes as a function of silica (SiO2) spacer thickness, LSPR band position and excitation wavelength. The excitation of Ag NP LSPR, which overlaps the PpIX absorption band, leads to the concomitant enhancement of PpIX fluorescence and 1O2 production independently of the Ag core size, but in a more pronounced way for larger Ag cores. These enhancements result from the increase in the PpIX excitation rate through the LSPR excitation and decrease when the distance between PpIX and Ag NPs increases. A maximum fluorescence enhancement of up to 14‐fold, together with an increase in photogenerated 1O2 production of up to five times are obtained using 100 nm Ag cores coated with a 5 nm thick silica coating.  相似文献

Recent advances in photocatalysis focus on the development of materials with hierarchical structure and on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) phenomenon exhibited by metal nanoparticles (NPs). In this work, both are combined in a material where size‐controllable Ag‐NPs are uniformly loaded onto the hierarchical microporous and mesoporous and nanocolumnar structures of ZnO, resulting in Ag‐NP/ZnO nanocomposites. The embedded Ag‐NPs slightly decrease the hydrophobicity of fibrous ZnO, improve its wettability, and increase the absorption of formaldehyde (H2CO) onto the photocatalyst, all of this resulting in excellent photodegradation of formaldehyde in aqueous solution. Besides, we found that Ag‐NPs with optimal size not only accelerate the charge transfer to the surface of ZnO, but also strengthen the SPR effect in the intercolumnar channels of fibrous ZnO particles combining with high concentration of photo‐generated radical species. The micro‐to‐mesoporous ZnO is like a nanoarray packed Ag‐NPs. With Ag‐NPs of diameter 2.5 < ? < 6.5 nm, ZnO exhibits the most superior photodegradation rate constant value of 0.0239 min?1 with total formaldehyde removal of 97%. This work presents a new feasible approach involving highly sophisticated Ag‐NP/ZnO architecture combining the SPR effect and hierarchically ordered structures, which results in high photocatalytic activity for formaldehyde photodegradation.  相似文献

Recent advances in direct‐use plasmonic‐metal nanoparticles (NPs) as photocatalysts to drive organic synthesis reactions under visible‐light irradiation have attracted great interest. Plasmonic‐metal NPs are characterized by their strong interaction with visible light through excitation of the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR). Herein, we review recent developments in direct photocatalysis using plasmonic‐metal NPs and their applications. We focus on the role played by the LSPR of the metal NPs in catalyzing organic transformations and, more broadly, the role that light irradiation plays in catalyzing the reactions. Through this, the reaction mechanisms that these light‐excited energetic electrons promote will be highlighted. This review will be of particular interest to researchers who are designing and fabricating new plasmonic‐metal NP photocatalysts by identifying important reaction mechanisms that occur through light irradiation.  相似文献

A key to realizing the sustainable society is to develop highly active photocatalysts for selective organic synthesis effectively using sunlight as the energy source. Recently, metal‐oxide‐supported gold nanoparticles (NPs) have emerged as a new type of visible‐light photocatalysts driven by the excitation of localized surface plasmon resonance of Au NPs. Here we show that visible‐light irradiation (λ>430 nm) of TiO2‐supported Au NPs with a bimodal size distribution (BM‐Au/TiO2) gives rise to the long‐range (>40 nm) electron transport from about 14 small (ca. 2 nm) Au NPs to one large (ca. 9 nm) Au NP through the conduction band of TiO2. As a result of the enhancement of charge separation, BM‐Au/TiO2 exhibits a high level of visible‐light activity for the one‐step synthesis of azobenzenes from nitrobenzenes at 25 °C with a yield greater than 95 % and a selectivity greater than 99 %, whereas unimodal Au/TiO2 (UM‐Au/TiO2) is photocatalytically inactive.  相似文献

In recent years, tremendous research efforts have been made towards developing metal–organic framework (MOF)‐based composites for photocatalytic applications. In this work, bipyramid‐like MIL‐125(Ti) frustum enwrapped with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and dispersed silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) was fabricated using an efficient one‐pot self‐assembly and photoreduction strategy. The as‐obtained materials were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption–desorption isotherms, and X‐ray photoelectron, ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance and photoluminescence spectroscopies. It is found that the as‐prepared Ag/rGO/MIL‐125(Ti) ternary hybrids have large surface area, microporous structure, enhanced visible light absorption and prolonged lifetime of charge carriers. Compared with pure MIL‐125(Ti) and its binary counterparts, the ternary composite exhibits more efficient photocatalytic performance for Rhodamine B (RhB) degradation from water under visible light irradiation. The photodegradation rate of RhB on Ag/rGO/MIL‐125(Ti) is 0.0644 min?1, which is 1.62 times higher than that of the pure MIL‐125(Ti). The improved photocatalytic performance is ascribed to the indirect dye photosensitization, the Ag NP localized surface plasmon resonance, the Ti3+–Ti4+ intervalence electron transfer and the synergistic effect among MIL‐125(Ti), Ag NPs and rGO. Ag NPs serve as an efficient ‘electron reservoir’ and rGO as an electron transporter and collector. Therefore, this work provides a new pathway into the design of MOF‐based composites for application in environmental and energy fields. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Designing the photoanode structure in dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) is vital to realizing enhanced power conversion efficiency (PCE). Herein, novel multifunctional silver‐decorated porous titanium dioxide nanofibers (Ag/pTiO2 NFs) made by simple electrospinning, etching, and chemical reduction processes are introduced. The Ag/pTiO2 NFs with a high surface area of 163 m2 g?1 provided sufficient dye adsorption for light harvesting. Moreover, the approximately 200 nm diameter and rough surface of the Ag/pTiO2 NFs offered enough light scattering, and the enlarged interpores among the NFs in the photoanode also permitted electrolyte circulation. Ag nanoparticles (NPs) were well dispersed on the surface of the TiO2 NFs, which prevented aggregation of the Ag NPs after calcination. Furthermore, a localized surface plasmon resonance effect by the Ag NPs served to increase the light absorption at visible wavelengths. The surface area and amount of Ag NPs was optimized. The PCE of pTiO2 NF‐based DSSCs was 27 % higher (from 6.2 to 7.9 %) than for pure TiO2 NFs, whereas the PCE of Ag/pTiO2 NF‐based DSSCs increased by about 12 % (from 7.9 to 8.8 %). Thus, the PCE of the multifunctional pTiO2 NFs was improved by 42 %, that is, from 6.2 to 8.8 %.  相似文献

A method for the region‐selective deposition of nanoparticles (NPs) by the Huisgen 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition is presented. The approach enables defined stacking of various oxide NPs in any order with control over layer thickness. Thereby the reaction is performed between a substrate, functionalized with a self‐assembled monolayer of an azide‐bearing phosphonic acid (PA) and aluminum oxide (AlOx) NPs functionalized with an alkyne bearing PA. The layer of alkyne functionalized AlOx NPs is then used as substrate for the deposition of azide‐functionalized indium tin oxide (ITO) NPs to provide a binary stack. This progression is then conducted with alkyne‐functionalized CeO2 NPs, yielding a ternary stack of NPs with three different NP cores. The stacks are characterized by AFM and SEM, defining the region‐selectivity of the deposition technique. Finally, these assemblies have been tested in devices as a dielectric to form a capacitor resulting in a dramatic increase in the measured capacitance.  相似文献

Color‐controlled spherical Ag nanoparticles (NPs) and nanorods, with features that originate from their particle sizes and morphologies, can be synthesized within the mesoporous structure of SBA‐15 by the rapid and uniform microwave (MW)‐assisted alcohol reduction method in the absence or presence of surface‐modifying organic ligands. The obtained several Ag catalysts exhibit different catalytic activities in the H2 production from ammonia borane (NH3BH3, AB) under dark conditions, and higher catalytic activity is observed by smaller yellow Ag NPs in spherical form. The catalytic activities are specifically enhanced under the light irradiation for all Ag catalysts. In particular, under light irradiation, the blue Ag nanorod shows a maximum enhancement of more than twice that observed in the dark. It should be noted that the order of increasing catalytic performance is in close agreement with the order of absorption intensity owing to the Ag localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) at irradiation light wavelength. Upon consideration of infrared thermal effect, wavelength dependence on catalytic activity, and effect of radical scavengers, it can be concluded that the dehydrogenation of AB is promoted by change of charge density of the Ag NP surface derived from LSPR. The LSPR‐enhanced catalytic activity can be further realized in the tandem reaction consisting of dehydrogenation of AB and hydrogenation of 4‐nitrophenol, in which a similar tendency in the enhancement of catalytic activity is observed.  相似文献

Using electrodynamics calculations, we have discovered one dimensional array structures built from spherical silver nanoparticles that produce remarkably narrow ( approximately meV or less) plasmon resonance spectra upon irradiation with light that is polarized perpendicular to the array axis. The narrow lines require a minimum particle radius of about 30 nm to achieve. Variations of the plasmon resonance wavelength, extinction efficiency and width with particle size, array structure, interparticle distance and polarization direction are examined, and conditions which lead to the smallest widths are demonstrated. A simple analytical expression valid for infinite lattices shows that the sharp resonance arises from cancellation between the single particle width and the imaginary part of the radiative dipolar interaction.  相似文献

As a typical photocatalyst for CO2 reduction, practical applications of TiO2 still suffer from low photocatalytic efficiency and limited visible‐light absorption. Herein, a novel Au‐nanoparticle (NP)‐decorated ordered mesoporous TiO2 (OMT) composite (OMT‐Au) was successfully fabricated, in which Au NPs were uniformly dispersed on the OMT. Due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect derived from the excited Au NPs, the TiO2 shows high photocatalytic performance for CO2 reduction under visible light. The ordered mesoporous TiO2 exhibits superior material and structure, with a high surface area that offers more catalytically active sites. More importantly, the three‐dimensional transport channels ensure the smooth flow of gas molecules, highly efficient CO2 adsorption, and the fast and steady transmission of hot electrons excited from the Au NPs, which lead to a further improvement in the photocatalytic performance. These results highlight the possibility of improving the photocatalysis for CO2 reduction under visible light by constructing OMT‐based Au‐SPR‐induced photocatalysts.  相似文献

One‐dimensional iron oxide materials fabricated on conducting glass substrates and their unique properties make these nanostructures promising candidates for a wide range of applications. Herein, vertically oriented α‐Fe2O3 nanorod arrays synthesized under hydrothermal conditions over a large area are described, as an active platform for surface‐enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) and surface‐enhanced fluorescence (SEF). From scanning electron microscopy images the formation of a homogeneous distribution of vertically oriented rods in a large area is confirmed. For activating the localized surface plasmon resonances, which are responsible for SERRS and SEF, a 6 nm layer of Ag is deposited onto the α‐Fe2O3 nanorod arrays by physical vapor deposition to form Ag islands.  相似文献

A heterostructured semiconductor–metal ZnO?Ag nanoparticle (NP) composite was constructed through a straightforward photocatalytic strategy by using UV irradiation of ZnO NPs and an aqueous solution of Ag precursor. The ZnO?Ag NP composites serve as an effective cathode‐modifying layer in polymer solar cells (PSCs) with increased short‐circuit current density owing to the light‐trapping effect, and improved optical and electrical conductivity properties compared with pure ZnO NPs. The Ag NPs, which are photodeposited in situ on ZnO NPs, can act as effective antennas for incident light to maximize light harvesting and minimize radiative decay or nonradiative losses, consequently resulting in the enhanced photogeneration of excitons in PSCs. Systematic photoelectron and ‐physical investigations confirm that heterostructured ZnO?Ag NPs can significantly improve charge separation, transport, and collection, as well as lower charge recombination at the cathode interface, leading to a 14.0 % improvement in air‐processed device power conversion efficiency. In addition, this processable, cost‐effective, and scalable approach is compatible with roll‐to‐roll manufacturing of large‐scale PSCs.  相似文献

In recent decades, extensive studies have been devoted to assembling nanoparticles (NPs) into various ordered structures to achieve novel optical properties. However, it still remains a challenging task to assemble NPs into cyclic one‐dimensional (1D) shapes, such as rings and frames. Herein, we report a directed assembly method to precisely assemble NPs into well‐defined, free‐standing frames using polymer single crystals (PSCs) as the template. Preformed poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) single crystals were used as the template to direct the crystallization of block copolymer (BCP) poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) (PEO‐b‐P4VP), which directs the gold NPs (AuNPs) to form AuNP frames. By controlling the PSC growth, we were able to, for the first time, precisely tune both the size and width of the AuNP frame. These novel AuNP frames topologically resemble NP nanorings and cyclic polymer chains, and show unique surface plasmon resonance (SPR) behaviors.  相似文献

Supported noble bimetallic nanomaterials have attracted great interest owing to their applications in catalysis. Herein, polystyrene‐supported Ag@AgAu bimetallic nanocomposites were synthesized by using a seed‐growth route. The size and degree of coverage of the Ag@AgAu NPs could be controlled by changing the experimental parameters. SEM, TEM, STEM, EDS, and XPS analysis was used to characterize the morphology, structure, and composition of these nanocomposites. We found that the bimetallic nanoparticles on the polystyrene beads had a core–shell structure that was comprised of a Ag core and a AgAu alloy shell. The optical properties of the nanocomposites were also studied by UV/Vis/NIR spectroscopy, which indicated that the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) absorptions of the nanocomposites could be tailored over a large scale from 450 nm to 950 nm. The catalytic properties of the nanocomposites were studied by using the reduction of 4‐nitrophenol (4‐NP) by NaBH4 as a model system. The results showed that the catalytic activity of the polystyrene‐supported Ag@AgAu bimetallic nanocomposites was remarkably superior to that of polystyrene‐supported monometallic Ag and Au nanocomposites with the same nanoparticle size. In addition, an investigation of the recycling catalytic activity of the PS‐Ag@AgAu nanocomposites revealed that the catalyst possessed good stability. The enhancement of the catalytic activity was proposed to be due to the ligand and strain effects between Ag and Au.  相似文献
