We report the synthesis, spectroscopic and structural characterization, and computational analysis of a series of phosphomolybdate complexes with tetravalent metal cations. The reaction between Ce (IV) and Th (IV) with phosphomolybdate at the optimum pH for the stabilization of the lacunary heteropolyoxometalate anion, [PMo 11O 39] (7-), results in the formation of compounds containing the anions [Ce(PMo 11O 39) 2] (10-) and [Th(PMo 11O 39) 2] (10-), respectively. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis was performed on salts of both species, Cs 10[Ce(PMo 11O 39) 2].20H 2O and (NH 4) 10[Th(PMo 11O 39) 2].22H 2O. In both anionic complexes the f-block metal cation is coordinated to the four unsaturated terminal lacunary site oxygens of each [PMo 11O 39] (7-) anion, yielding 8 coordinate sandwich complexes, analogous to previously prepared related complexes. Spectroscopic characterization points to the stability of these complexes in solution over a reasonably wide pH range. Density functional analysis suggests that the Ce-O bond strength in [Ce(PMo 11O 39) 2] (10-) is greater than the Th-O bond strength in [Th(PMo 11O 39) 2] (10-), with the dominant bonding interaction being ionic in both cases. In contrast, under similar reaction conditions, the dominant solid state Zr (IV) and Hf (IV) complexes formed contain the anions [Zr(PMo 12O 40)(PMo 11O 39)] (6-) and [Hf(PMo 12O 40)(PMo 11O 39)] (6-), respectively. In these complexes the central Group 4 d-block metal cations are coordinated to the four unsaturated terminal lacunary site oxygens of the [PMo 11O 39] (7-) ligand and to four bridging oxygens of a plenary Keggin anion, [PMo 12O 40] (3-). In addition, (NH 4) 5{Hf[PMo 12O 40][(NH 4)PMo 11O 39]}.23.5H 2O can be crystallized as a minor product. The structure of the anion, {Hf[PMo 12O 40][(NH 4)PMo 11O 39]} (5-), reveals coordination of the central Hf (IV) cation via four bridging oxygens on both the coordinated [PMo 11O 39] (7-) and [PMo 12O 40] (3-) anions. Unusually, the highly charged lacunary site remains uncoordinated to the Hf metal center but instead interacts with an ammonium cation. (31)P NMR indicates that complexation of the Keggin anion, [PMo 12O 40] (3-), to Hf (IV) and Zr (IV) will stabilize the Keggin anion to a much higher pH than usually observed.  相似文献

The novel 8-coordinate zirconium compound (NH(4))(6)[Zr(PMo(12)O(40))(PMo(11)O(39))].26H(2)O (1) has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, and vibrational and (31)P NMR spectroscopy. It is the first example of a metal complex containing both parent, [PMo(12)O(40)](3)(-), and monovacant lacunary, [PMo(11)O(39)](7)(-), anions. Furthermore, this is the first crystallographic determination of the [PMo(11)O(39)](7)(-) anion.  相似文献

The redox properties of four series of more than one handred acids and salts of rare earth heteropoly compounds, such as LnHSiMoi2O40, In (PMo11 O39)211-, Ln (PW11 O39)211-, Ln (AsW11 O39)211-, Ln(GeW11O39)213-, Ln(BW11O39)215-, Ln(GaW11O39)216-, Ln(P2Mo17O61)217-, Ln (As2W17O61)217-, Ln2P2Mo18O62and Ln2HP2Mo17VO62(Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, etc. ) which have Keggin, Daw-son and their derivative structures, were studied by means of potentiometric titration, polarography and cy-clovoltammetry. The mechanisms of the redox reactions were supposed-and the orders of redox ability of the heteropoly compounds were concluded. The periodic changes in reduction potentials of Ln(PMo11O39)211-and Ln(P2Mo17O61)2217- with Ln atomic numbers, and the correlation between E1/2 of Ln(XMo11O39)2(?)-(X =P, Ge, Si) and nq2(n is the main quantum number of the central atoms and q is their charges) were found.  相似文献

Organothiophosphoryl polyoxotungstate derivatives α-C6H11P(S)]2Xn W11O39(8-n)- (X=P, Si, Ge, Ga)were obtained by the reactions of the monovacant α-[Xn W11O39](12-n)- (X=P, Si, Ge, Ga) anions with electrophilic C6H11P(S)Cl2 in acetonitrile. These new organic-inorganic hybrid anions were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 31P and 183W NMR spectrometries. The six-line 183W NMR spectrum indicates that [C6H11P (S) ]2Xn W11O39(8-n)- (X= P, Si, Ge, Ga) anions possess true Cs symmetry in acetonitrile. According to the spectroscopic observation and the chemical analyses, it is known that each of the hybrid anions consists of an α-[XW11O3)] framework on which two equivalent C6H11P(S) groups are grafted through P-O-W bridges.  相似文献

The ruthenium-nitrido POM derivative [PW11O39{RuVIN}]4- has been synthesized by reaction between [PW11O39]7- and [RuVINCl5]2- or [RuVINCl4]-. Its molecular structure has been confirmed from multinuclear 31P and 183W NMR spectroscopy together with an EXAFS study, while the oxidation state of the ruthenium bearing the nitrido ligand has been inferred both from 183W NMR and XANES analysis at the Ru-K edge. The potential of [PW11O39{RuVIN}]4- in N-atom transfer reactions has been demonstrated through reaction with triphenylphosphine, which ultimately leads to the release of the bis(triphenylphosphane)iminium cation [PPh3=N=PPh3]+ through several intermediates, among which the phosphoraniminato derivative [PW11O39{RuVNPh3}]3- has been structurally characterized. Its unusual oxidation state is in accordance with its EPR spectrum.  相似文献

We have isolated the 1:1 Ln:[alpha-2-P2W17O61]10- complexes for a series of lanthanides. The single-crystal X-ray structure of the Eu3+ analogue reveals two identical [Eu(H2O)3(alpha-2-P2W17O61)]7- moieties connected through two Eu-O-W bonds, one from each polyoxometalate unit. An inversion center relates the two polyoxometalate units. The Eu(III) ion is substituted for a [WO]4+ unit in the "cap" region of the tungsten-oxygen framework of the parent Wells-Dawson ion. The point group of the dimeric molecule is Ci. The extended structure is composed of the [Eu(H2O)3(alpha-2-P2W17O61)]214- anions linked together by surface-bound potassium cations. The space group is P, a = 12.7214(5) A, b = 14.7402(7) A, c = 22.6724(9) A, alpha = 71.550(3), beta = 84.019(3)degrees, gamma = 74.383(3), V = 3883.2(3) A3, Z = 1. The solution studies, including 183W NMR spectroscopy and luminescence lifetime measurements, show that the molecules dissociate in solution to form monomeric [Ln(H2O)4(alpha-2-P2W17O61)]7- species.  相似文献

The reactivity of the [alpha-SiW(11)O(39)](8-) monovacant polyoxometalate with lanthanide has been investigated for four different trivalent rare-earth cations (Ln = Nd(III), Eu(III), Gd(III), Yb(III)). The crystal structures of KCs(4)[Yb(alpha-SiW(11)O(39))(H(2)O)(2)] x 24H(2)O (1), K(0.5)Nd(0.5)[Nd(2)(alpha-SiW(11)O(39))(H(2)O)(11)] x 17H(2)O (2a), and Na(0.5)Cs(4.5)[Eu(alpha-SiW(11)O(39))(H(2)O)(2)] x 23H(2)O (3a) are reported. The solid-state structure of compound 1 consists of linear wires built up of [alpha-SiW(11)O(39)](8-) anions connected by Yb(3+) cations, while the linkage of the building blocks by Eu(3+) centers in 3a leads to the formation of zigzag chains. In 2a, dimeric [Nd(2)(alpha-SiW(11)O(39))(2)(H(2)O)(8)](10-) entities are linked by four Nd(3+) cations. The resulting chains are connected by lanthanide ions, leading to a bidimensional arrangement. Thus, the dimensionality, the organization of the polyoxometalate building units, and the Ln/[alpha-SiW(11)O(39)](8-) ratio in the solid state can be tuned by choosing the appropriate lanthanide. The luminescent properties of compound 3a have been studied, showing that, in solution, the polymer decomposes to give the monomeric complex [Eu(alpha-SiW(11)O(39))(H(2)O)(4)](5-). The lability of the four exogenous ligands connected to the rare earth must allow the functionalization of this lanthanide polyanion.  相似文献

Enantiopure crystals of K(1.3)Na(3.2)H(6.5)[l-Pr(PW(11)O(39))(2)]·8.3l-proline·21.5H(2)O (1), K(1.3)Na(3.2)H(6.5)[d-Pr(PW(11)O(39))(2)]·8.3d-proline·17H(2)O (2), and K(1.3)Na(3.2)H(6.5)[l-Er(PW(11)O(39))(2)]·8.3l-proline·22.5H(2)O (3) were successfully obtained by using l- and d-proline (pro) as chiral auxiliary agents. In these crystals, l- and d-[Ln(PW(11)O(39))(2)](11-) anions are attached by two l- and d-pro molecules, respectively, through a O···N hydrogen-bonding interaction between the square-antiprismatic LnO(8) center and amino-N atoms. The l- and d-[Pr(PW(11)O(39))(2)](11-) anions in aqueous solutions exhibited a couple of mirror-imaged CD spectra due to (3)H(4/2)→(3)P(0,1,2) and (1)D(2) transitions in the stereogenic Pr(3+) center. Chirality inductions by l- and d-pro from a racemic solution of [Er(PW(11)O(39))(2)](11-) was demonstrated by means of CD spectroscopy.  相似文献

A mesogenic Schiff-base, N,N'-di-(4-decyloxysalicylidene)-1',6'-diaminohexane, H2ddsdh (abbreviated as H2L2) that exhibits smectic-B (SmB) mesophase, was synthesized and its structure studied by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, NMR & IR spectral techniques. The Schiff-base, H2L2, upon condensation with hydrated lanthanide(III) nitrates, yields LnIII complexes of the general composition [Ln2(L2H2)3(NO3)4](NO3)2, where Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy and Ho. IR and NMR spectral data imply a bi-dentate bonding of the Schiff-base in its zwitterionic form (as L2H2) to the LnIII ions through two phenolate oxygens. The POM and DSC studies reveal that none of the LnIII complexes exhibits mesomorphism. Fluorescence studies show that the TbIII complex displays characteristic metal-centered fluorescence (solution state).  相似文献

The incorporation of lanthanides into polyoxometalates provides entry to new classes of potentially useful materials that combine the intrinsic properties of both constituents. To utilize the [alpha1-Ln(H2O)4P2W17O61]7- species in applications of catalysis and development of luminescent materials, the chemistry of this family of lanthanide polyoxometalates in organic solvents has been developed. Organic-soluble polyoxometalate-lanthanide complexes TBA5H2[alpha1-Ln(H2O)4P2W17O61] (Ln = La(III), Sm(III), Eu(III), Yb(III)) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, acid-base titration, IR, 31P NMR, and mass spectrometry. The synthetic procedure involves a cation metathesis reaction in aqueous solution under strict pH control. A solid-liquid-phase transfer protocol yielded a unique species (TBA)8K3[Yb(alpha1-YbP2W17O61)2] with three ytterbium ions and two [alpha1-P2W17O61]10- polyoxotungstates. A centrosymmetric dimeric complex [{alpha1-La(H2O)4P2W17O61}2]14- was crystallized from aqueous solution and characterized by X-ray diffraction. ESI mass spectral analysis of the complexes TBA5H2[alpha1-Ln(H2O)4P2W17O61] shows that similar dimers exist in organic solution, in particular for the early lanthanides. Fragmentation in the mass spectrometer of the complexes from dry acetonitrile solution involves double protonation of an oxo ligand and loss of one water molecule. Low mass tungstate fragments combine into [(WO3)n]2- (n = 1-5) ions and their condensation products with phosphate. Reaction of TBA5H2[alpha1-Eu(H2O)4P2W17O61] with 1,10-phenanthroline or 2,2'-bipyridine showed an increase of the europium luminescence. This result is explained by the formation of a ternary complex of [alpha1-Eu(H2O)4P2W17O61]7- and two sensitizing ligands.  相似文献

[(PW(11)O(39))(2)(Mo(4)S(4)O(4)(OH(2))(2))](10-) anions were obtained through the stereospecific addition of the [Mo(2)S(2)O(2)](2+) oxothiocation to the monovacant alpha-[PW(11)O(39)](7-) anion. K(10)[(PW(11)O(39))(2)(Mo(4)S(4)O(4)(OH(2))(2))].25H(2)O has been isolated as crystals and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The structure revealed a "sandwich-like" dimer of two alpha-[PW(11)O(39)](7-) subunits assembled by the noteworthy central cluster [H(4)Mo(4)S(4)O(6)]. The crystallization of the crude product produces an isomerically pure compound, which was characterized by (31)P and (183)W NMR. IR data were also supplied. In solution, the compound isomerizes, giving a second diastereoisomer. A kinetic experiment, carried out by (31)P NMR, allowed the conditions of the thermodynamic equilibrium to be determined. A structural relationship between the two isomers is proposed, fully consistent with NMR data. Cisoid and transoid isomers result in the relative disposition of each [PW(11)O(39)](7-) subunit, either staggered or eclipsed. An investigation of the formation of the [Mo(2)O(2)S(2)](2+) unit from the polycondensed cyclic precursor [Mo(10)S(10)O(10)(OH)(10)(H(2)O)(5)] and the aggregation process resulting in the oxothio [(PW(11)O(39))(2)(Mo(4)S(4)O(4)(OH(2))(2))](10-) compound has been undertaken. The studies were monitored by (31)P NMR and UV-vis spectroscopies. The reaction is quantitative in nearly stoichiometric conditions.  相似文献

The spectroscopic properties of the neodymium(III)-containing polyoxometalates (POMs) [Nd(PW(11)O(39))(2)](11-), [Nd(PMo(2)W(9)O(39))(2)](11-), [Nd(PMo(4)W(7)O(39))(2)](11-), [Nd(PMo(6)W(5)O(39))(2)](11-), [Nd(SiMo(2)W(9)O(39))(2)](13-), [Nd(P(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-), [NdW(10)O(36)](9-), [NdP(5)W(30)O(110)](12-) and [NdAs(4)W(40)O(140)](25-) are described. Absorption spectra of aqueous solutions of the complexes have been recorded and the transition intensities are parameterised in terms of the Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters Omega(lambda) (lambda=2, 4, 6). Marked differences were found between the luminescence lifetimes of the complexes of the type Nd(POM) and those of the type Nd(POM)(2), due to a better shielding of the neodymium(III) ions from the bulk water molecules in the latter type of complexes.  相似文献

To expand the limited range of rare-earth metal cationic alkyl complexes known, a series of mono- and dicationic trimethylsilylmethyl complexes supported by THF and 12-crown-4 ligands with [BPh4]-, [BPh3(CH2SiMe3)]-, [B(C6F5)4]-, [B(C6F5)3(CH2SiMe3)]-, and [Al(CH2SiMe3)4]- anions were prepared from corresponding neutral precursors [Ln(CH2SiMe3)3Ln] (Ln = Sc, Y, Lu; L = THF, n = 2 or 3; L = 12-crown-4, n = 1) as solvent-separated ion pairs. The syntheses of the monocationic derivatives [Ln(CH2SiMe3)2(12-crown-4)n(THF)m]+[A]- are all high yielding and proceed rapidly in THF solution at room temperature. A "one pot" procedure using the neutral species directly for the syntheses of a number of lutetium and yttrium dicationic derivatives [Ln(CH2SiMe3)(12-crown-4)n(THF)m]2+[A]-2 with a variety of different anions, a class of compounds previously limited to just a few examples, is presented. When BPh3 is used to generate the ion triple, the presence of 12-crown-4 is required for complete conversion. Addition of a second equiv of 12-crown-4 and a third equiv of [NMe2PhH]+[B(C6F5)4]- abstracts a third alkyl group from [Ln(CH2SiMe3)(12-crown-4)2(THF)x]2+[B(C6F5)4]-2 (Ln = Y, Lu). X-ray crystallography and variable-temperature (VT) NMR spectroscopy reveal a structural diversity within the known series of neutral 12-crown-4 supported tris(trimethylsilylmethyl) complexes [Ln(CH2SiMe3)3(12-crown-4)] (Ln = Sc, Y, Sm, Gd-Lu) in the solid and solution states. The X-ray structure of [Sc(CH2SiMe3)3(12-crown-4)] exhibits incomplete 12-crown-4 coordination. VT NMR spectroscopy indicates fluxional 12-crown-4 coordination on the NMR time scale. X-ray crystallography of only the second structurally characterized dicationic rare-earth metal alkyl complex [Y(CH2SiMe3)(12-crown-4)(THF)3]2+[BPh4]-2 shows exocyclic 12-crown-4 coordination at the 8-coordinate metal center with well separated counteranions. 11B and 19F NMR spectroscopy of all mono- and dicationic rare-earth metal complexes reported demonstrate that the anions are symmetrical and noncoordinating on the NMR time scale. A series of trends within the 1H and 13C{1H} NMR resonances arising from the Ln-CH2 groups and, in the case of yttrium, the 1JYC coupling constants at the Y-CH2 group and the 89Y chemical shift values are discussed.  相似文献

We have synthesized and structurally characterized the monolanthanide-containing polyanions [Ln(beta2-SiW11O39)2]13- (Ln = La (1), Ce (2), Sm (3), Eu (4), Gd (5), Tb (6), Yb (7), Lu (8)). Synthesis was accomplished by reaction of the respective lanthanide ion with the monolacunary Keggin-type precursor [beta2-SiW11O39]8- in a 1:2 molar ratio in 1 M KCl medium at pH 5. Polyanions 1-8 were isolated as potassium salts and then characterized by IR, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and elemental as well as thermogravimetric analysis. The structures of 1-8 are composed of an eight-coordinated Ln3+ center sandwiched by two chiral (beta2-SiW11O39) units. Large Ln3+ ions appear to favor an (R,R) (or (S,S)) configuration (point group C2) of the Keggin units, with an increasing amount of (R,S) (or (S,R)) configuration (point group C1) found in the solid state as the Ln3+ ion decreases in size. This trend is also supported by solution 183W NMR results for the diamagnetic La3+ and Lu3+ derivatives.  相似文献

An extensive series of tetranuclear CuII2LnIII2 complexes [CuIILLnIII(hfac)2]2 (with LnIII being all lanthanide(III) ions except for the radioactive PmIII) has been prepared in order to investigate the nature of the CuII-LnIII magnetic interactions and to try to answer the following question: What makes the CuII2TbIII2 and CuII2DyIII2 complexes single molecule magnets while the other complexes are not? All the complexes within this series possess a similar cyclic tetranuclear structure, in which the CuII and LnIII ions are arrayed alternately via bridges of ligand complex (CuIIL). Regular SQUID magnetometry measurements have been performed on the series. The temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibilities from 2 to 300 K and the field-dependent magnetizations from 0 to 5 T at 2 K have been measured for the CuII2LnIII2 and NiII2LnIII2 complexes, with the NiII2LnIII2 complex containing diamagnetic NiII ions being used as a reference for the evaluation of the CuII-LnIII magnetic interactions. These measurements have revealed that the interactions between CuII and LnIII ions are very weakly antiferromagnetic if Ln=Ce, Nd, Sm, Yb, ferromagnetic if Ln=Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and negligible if Ln=La, Eu, Pr, Lu. With the same goal of better understanding the evolution of the intramolecular magnetic interactions, X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) has also been measured on CuII2TbIII2, CuII2DyIII2, and NiII2TbIII2 complexes, either at the L- and M-edges of the metal ions or at the K-edge of the N and O atoms. Last, the CuII2TbIII2 complex exhibiting SMM behavior has received a closer examination of its low temperature magnetic properties down to 0.1 K. These particular measurements have revealed the unusual very slow setting-up of a 3D order below 0.6 K.  相似文献

Herein, we discuss how, why, and when cascade complexation reactions produce stable, mononuclear, luminescent ternary complexes, by considering the binding of hexafluoroacetylacetonate anions (hfac(-)) and neutral, semi-rigid, tridentate 2,6-bis(benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine ligands (Lk) to trivalent lanthanide atoms (Ln(III)). The solid-state structures of [Ln(Lk)(hfac)(3)] (Ln=La, Eu, Lu) showed that [Ln(hfac)(3)] behaved as a neutral six-coordinate lanthanide carrier with remarkable properties: 1) the strong cohesion between the trivalent cation and the didentate hfac anions prevented salt dissociation; 2) the electron-withdrawing trifluoromethyl substituents limited charge-neutralization and favored cascade complexation with Lk; 3) nine-coordination was preserved for [Ln(Lk)(hfac)(3)] for the complete lanthanide series, whilst a counterintuitive trend showed that the complexes formed with the smaller lanthanide elements were destabilized. Thermodynamic and NMR spectroscopic studies in solution confirmed that these characteristics were retained for solvated molecules, but the operation of concerted anion/ligand transfers with the larger cations induced subtle structural variations. Combined with the strong red photoluminescence of [Eu(Lk)(hfac)(3)], the ternary system Ln(III)/hfac(-)/Lk is a promising candidate for the planned metal-loading of preformed multi-tridentate polymers.  相似文献

Two types of Ln(II)-Co(4) isocarbonyl polymeric arrays, [(Et(2)O)(3)(-)(x)()(THF)(x)()Ln[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (1-3; x = 0, 1) and [(THF)(5)Eu[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (4), were prepared and structurally characterized. Transmetalation involving Ln(0) and Hg[Co(CO)(4)](2) in Et(2)O yields [(Et(2)O)(3)Ln[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (1, Ln = Yb; 2, Ln = Eu). Dissolution of the solvent-separated ion pairs [Ln(THF)(x)()][Co(CO)(4)](2) (Ln = Yb, x = 6; Ln = Eu) in Et(2)O affords [(Et(2)O)(2)(THF)Yb[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (3) and [(THF)(5)Eu[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (4). In these reactions, oxidation and condensation of the [Co(CO)(4)](-) anions result in formation of the new tetrahedral cluster [Co(4)(CO)(11)](2)(-). The two types of Ln(II)-Co(4) compounds contain different isomers of [Co(4)(CO)(11)](2)(-), and, consequently, the structures of the infinite isocarbonyl networks are distinct. The cluster in [(Et(2)O)(3)(-)(x)()(THF)(x)()Ln[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (1-3) possesses pseudo C(3)(v)() symmetry (an apical Co, three basal Co atoms; one face-bridging, three edge-bridging, seven terminal carbonyls) and connects to Ln(II) centers through eta(2),micro(4)- and eta(2),micro(3)-carbonyls to generate a 2-D puckered sheet. In contrast, [(THF)(5)Eu[Co(4)(CO)(11)]]( infinity ) (4) incorporates a C(2)(v)() symmetric cluster (two unique Co environments; two face-bridging, one edge-bridging, eight terminal carbonyls), and isocarbonyl linkages (eta(2),micro(4)-carbonyls) to Eu(II) atoms create a 1-D zigzag chain. Complexes 1-4 contain the first reported eta(2),micro(4)-CO bridges between a Ln and a transition-metal carbonyl cluster. Infrared spectroscopic studies revealed that the isocarbonyl associations to Ln(II) persist in solution. The solution structure and dynamic behavior of the [Co(4)(CO)(11)](2)(-) cluster in 1 was investigated by variable-temperature (59)Co and (13)C NMR spectroscopies.  相似文献

The alpha-1 and alpha-2 isomers of the monovacant Wells-Dawson heteropolyoxoanion [P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) are complexants of trivalent rare-earth (RE) ions and serve to stabilize otherwise reactive tetravalent lanthanide (Ln) and actinide (An) ions in aqueous solution. Aspects of the bonding of Ln ions with alpha-1-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) and alpha-2-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) were investigated to address issues of complex formation and stability. We present structural insights about the Ln(III) coordination environment and hydration in two types of stoichiometric complexes, [Ln(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-) and [Ln(alpha-2-X(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-) (for Ln identical with Sm, Eu, Lu; X identical with P, As). The crystal and molecular structures of [(H(2)O)(4)Lu(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-) (1) and [Lu(alpha-2-P(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-) (2) were solved and refined through use of single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystallographic results are supported with corresponding insights from XAFS (X-ray absorption fine structure) for a series of nine solid-state complexes as well as from optical luminescence spectroscopy of the Eu(III) analogues in aqueous solution. All the Ln ions are eight-coordinate with oxygen atoms in a square antiprism arrangement. For the 1:1 stoichiometric Ln/alpha-1-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) complexes, the Ln ions are bound to four O atoms of the lacunary polyoxometalate framework in addition to four O atoms from solvent (water) molecules as [(H(2)O)(4)Ln(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-). This structure (1) is the first of its kind for any metal complex of alpha-1-[P(2)W(17)O(61)](10-), and the data indicate that the general stoichiometry [(H(2)O)(4)Ln(alpha-1-P(2)W(17)O(61))](7-) is maintained throughout the lanthanide series. For the 1:2 stoichiometric Ln/alpha-2-[X(2)W(17)O(61)](10-) complexes, no water molecules are in the Ln-O(8) coordination sphere. The Ln ions are bound to eight O atoms-four from each of two heteropolyanions-as [Ln(alpha-2-X(2)W(17)O(61))(2)](17-). The average Ln-O interatomic distances decrease across the lanthanide series, consistent with the decreasing Ln ionic radius.  相似文献
