Excess Molar Volumes for Binary Mixtures of 1-Alkanol and 1-Alkene. II. The System 1-Alkanol + 1-Octene at 15 and 35°C

Excess molar volumes V ^E measured at 15 and 35°C for the (1-propanol + 1-octene), (1-butanol + 1-octene), (1-octanol + 1-octene), and (1-decanol + 1-decene) systems are reported. These data and the measurements reported before at 25°C for this series of mixtures were used to calculate the excess molar isobaric thermal expansion A _p ^E = ( V ^E/ T)_p at 25°C. In the above series of mixtures the A _p ^E values change from positive over the whole concentration range in the systems formed by 1-propanol and 1-butanol, to positive-negative for longer chain alkanols, the positive values occurring in the alkene-rich region. For systems characterized by the sigmoid shape, the positive region of A _p ^E values decreases with increasing length of the 1-alkanol molecule. The modified model of associated mixtures proposed by Treszczanowicz and Benson predicts qualitatively the changes in the shape of the A _p ^E curves. The model allows interpretation of the above results as a balance between the contributions due to self-association of alkanol, nonspecific interactions, and free volume.

Zusammenfassung Durch Anwendung der vonF. Kröhnke ¹ ausgearbeiteten Methode zur Darstellung von -Keto-carbonsäuren konnte man über die roten Anile VIII die entsprechenden -Keto-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-alkancarbonsäuren (IX, XI) gewinnen. Die erfolgreich durchgeführte Synthese des -(p-Dimethylaminophenylimino)--keto--(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-valeriansäurenitrils (VIIIc) läßt auch die geplante Synthese von -(p-Dimethylaminophenylimino)--keto--[2,3,4,4-tetramethoxydiphenylyl-(6)]-valeriansäurenitril und der entsprechenden -Keto-säure (V, [H statt Br]) als hoffnungsvoll erscheinen.

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine experimentelle Anordnung beschriében, mit der sich ein sehr reines Phosphoroxychlorid der Leitfähigkeit =2·10^–8 Ohm^–1 cm^–1 darstellen läßt und Leitfähigkeitsmessungen bis zu hohen Verdünnungen unter völligem Luftabschluß durchgeführt werden können. Weiters werden Leitfähigkeitsmessungen an Tetraäthylammoniumchlorid in konzentrierten und verdünnten Lösungen sowie im Bereich der Eigenleitfähigkeit des Lösungsmittels diskutiert.Zugleich 11. SMALL-BORE COLUMNS OF 1 mm I. D. FOR HPLC

The performance of small-bore columns of 1 mm I. D. for HPLC is described. The effect of mobile phase velocity and connecting effect on the values of H, a′, b′ and β are investigated. By operating at mobile phase velocity of 0.8 mm/s, the column of 200×1 mm I. D. packed with YWG-5μm (silica gel) can give the efficiency of about 11,000 plates which meet the needs of ordinary analysis. Oompared with column of 150×2 mm I. D., the solvent consumption is reduced to 1/3. The value of n~∞/t_r~0 about 700 T. P./s can be obtained. But the value of β is rather large. It needs further to be improved. Coupling 5 columns of 200×1 mm I. D., the efficiency of about 50,000 plates can be obtained. For a column of 1000×1 mm I. D. packed directly, the efficiency of 70,000 plates was achieved. Some applications of 1 mm I. D. column are given. We propose to use the column of 200×1mm I. D. in the routine analysis.

Gold(I)/Gold(III) Catalysis that Merges Oxidative Addition and π-Alkene Activation

Heteroarylation of alkenes with aryl iodides was efficiently achieved with a (MeDalphos)AuCl complex through Au^I/Au^III catalysis. The possibility to combine oxidative addition of aryl iodides and π-activation of alkenes at gold is demonstrated for the first time. The reaction is robust and general (>30 examples including internal alkenes, 5-, 6-, and 7-membered rings). It is regioselective and leads exclusively to trans addition products. The (P,N) gold complex is most efficient with electron-rich aryl substrates, which are troublesome with alternative photoredox/oxidative approaches. In addition, it provides a very unusual switch in regioselectivity from 5-exo to 6-endo cyclization between the Z and E isomers of internal alkenols.

C.P.M.G脉冲序列对~1H NMR中水信号的消除

用 C.P.M.G 脉冲序列在适当的τ值下,可使具有相当短的驰豫时间 T_2的质子从图谱中消失。铵类的质子具有与水的质子交换的性质,且交换的速度对水质子的 T_2有较大的影响。据此,本文通过系列试验,筛选出效果较好的硫酸铝铵,作为缩短水的质子的 T_2,使在 ~1H NMR 分析中采用 C.P.M.G 法消涂水的信号得以实现,并探索其使用条件及范围。在 pH 值1.0～9.2加入硫酸铝铵的量为0.25～0.35M 的条件下,分别以含少量的 N-羟甲基丙烯酰胺水溶液和含少量乙酸乙酯水溶液作为测试样品,进行水峰消除试验,取得甚好的效果。
