A flow injection method for the sequential determination of iron(II) and iron(III) was developed. It is based on the differential reaction kinetics of iron(II) and iron(III) with Tiron in a double-injection FI system. The proposed method employs the accelerating action of copper(II) for the oxidation of iron(II) in the presence of Tiron. A linear calibration graph is obtained for iron (II) and iron(III) in the concentration range 1.8 × 10–5– 1.8 × 10–4 mol/L; the throughput of samples is 30 injections/h.  相似文献

The anionic chelate of iron(III)-2,2-dihydroxyazobenzene (H2L), [FeL2], formed 1 1 ion-pair with crystal violet cation (CV+), CV+ [FeL2], and was adsorbed on a surface of transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film plasticized with di-n-octyl phthalate. Enrichment of the blue violet species of the ion-pair onto the transparent PVC film has enabled a highly sensitive and simple method for the determination of iron(III). The detection limits are 1 × 10–8 mol dm–3 (0.6 ppb) by spectrophotometry at 592 nm, and 4 × 10–8 mol dm–3 (2 ppb) by visual colorimetry. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of iron in water samples and human serum. No preparatory procedures for the separation of serum protein and other coexisting substances are required, since ion-pair adsorption process provides a new method to prevent interference of serum matrix.  相似文献

Two model systems and three analytical procedures based on them have been investigated analytically and characterized statistically with the aim of evaluating the application of ternary complexes in photometry. From measurements on the systems Ti(IV), Tiron (TiR8?3, procedure I), Ti(IV), Tiron, EDTA (TiR8?3, procedure II), Ti(IV), Tiron, EDTA [TiO(HY)R5?, procedure III], the molar absorptivities, standard deviations, coefficients of variation, calibration data, limits of detection and determination have been calculated, and the possible interferences of 45 ions have been examined. Procedure III is shown to be the least sensitive of the three, but to offer a higher selectivity towards titanium in the presence of Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III), Mn(II), Mo(VI), Ni(II), U(VI) and W(VI). The reasons for this are discussed, and some suggestions are offered concerning the intended application of ternary complexes.  相似文献

The well-known method for the determination of selenium(IV), which is based on the cathodic stripping voltammetry of copper(I) selenide, has been adapted for application at the thin-film mercury electrode on glassy carbon (TFME). Insufficient reproducibility and sensitivity have been overcome by using a 0.1 mol/L HClO4 electrolyte solution containing 0.02 mol/L thiocyanate ions. Thiocyanate ions have been found to increase the peak height of the selenium response and shift it to more positive potentials. This behaviour is explained by an adsorption of SCN at the interface glassy carbon/Cu2Se and its action as an electron transfer catalyst between glassy carbon and copper(I) selenide. A 3σ-detection limit of 75 ng/L Se(IV) has been achieved. The relative standard deviation is 5.2% at 5 μg/L selenium(IV). The influence of cadmium(II), arsenic(III), zinc(II), iron(III) and lead(II) ions on the selenium response has been studied. In case of lead ions, a new signal occurred at more negative potentials than the reduction of Cu2Se. This signal, which is probably due to the reduction of PbSe, can also be used for the determination of selenium(IV).  相似文献

Redox potentials of a series of complexes of cobalt(II) and organocobalt(III) with tetraazamacrocyclic (N4) and N2O2-noncyclic polychelate ligands have been determined by cyclic voltammetry. Introduction of ano-phenylene fragment instead of an ethylene fragment into an equatorial ligand and/or exchange of an N4-coordination chromophore for the N2O2-analog has been shown to result in the anodic shift of redox potentials of MeCo(IV)L/ MeCo(III)L, MeCo(III)L/MeCo(II)L, and Co(II)L/Co(I)L pairs. It has been established that the solvent effect on redox potential is larger for Co(III)L/Co(II)L than for other pairs. Apparently, this is the first case when quasi-reversible stages of oxidation of MeCo(III)L to MeCo(IV)L+ and MeCo(IV)L+ to [MeCo(IV)L]2+ can be simultaneously observed. A. relatively stable complex of methylcobalt(IV) with a long lifetime at 20 °C has been registered by the ESR method.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. A highly selective and sensitive catalytic method for the determination of trace amounts of titanium(IV) was developed. The method is based on the catalytic effect of titanium(IV) on the methylene blue‐ascorbic acid redox reaction. The reaction was followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the change in absorbance of methylene blue at 665 nm, 5 minutes after the initiation of the reaction. In this study experimental parameters were optimized and the effect of the presence of various cations and some anions on the determination of titanium(IV) was examined. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 3‐25 ng mL?1 of titanium(IV). The relative standard deviation for the determination of 10 and 20 ng mL?1 of titanium(IV) were 2.64% and 1.51%, respectively (n = 8). The detection limit calculated from three times of standard deviation of blank 3Sb was 0.6 ng mL?1. The method was successfully applied to the determination of titanium(IV) in tap water and ore samples.  相似文献

A cyclic voltammetry study of a series of iron(III) TAML activators of peroxides of several generations in acetonitrile as solvent reveals reversible or quasireversible FeIII/IV and FeIV/V anodic transitions, the formal reduction potentials (E°′) for which are observed in the ranges 0.4–1.2 and 1.4–1.6 V, respectively, versus Ag/AgCl. The slope of 0.33 for a linear E°′(IV/V) against E°′(III/IV) plot suggests that the TAML ligand system plays a bigger role in the FeIII/IV transition, whereas the second electron transfer is to a larger extent an iron-centered phenomenon. The reduction potentials appear to be a convenient tool for analysis of various properties of iron TAML activators in terms of linear free energy relationships (LFERs). The values of E°′(III/IV) and E°′(IV V−1) correlate 1) with the pKa values of the axial aqua ligand of iron(III) TAMLs with slopes of 0.28 and 0.06 V, respectively; 2) with the Stern–Volmer constants KSV for the quenching of fluorescence of propranolol, a micropollutant of broad concern; 3) with the calculated ionization potentials of FeIII and FeIV TAMLs; and 4) with rate constants kI and kII for the oxidation of the resting iron(III) TAML state by H2O2 and reactions of the active forms of TAMLs formed with donors of electrons S, respectively. Interestingly, slopes of log kII versus E°′(III/IV) plots are lower for fast-to-oxidize S than for slow-to-oxidize S. The log kI versus E°′(III/IV) plot suggests that the manmade TAML catalyst can never be as reactive toward H2O2 as a horseradish peroxidase enzyme.  相似文献

The objective of this research work was to develop a simple, highly sensitive and precise method for spectrophotometric determination of osmium(IV). O-Methylphenyl thiourea (OMPT) coordinates with osmium(IV) as a 1:1 (osmium(IV)–OMPT) complex in hydrochloric acid media (0.8 mol l?1). The novelty of the investigated method is instant complex formation at room temperature with no need of heating or standing. The complex is stable for more than 8 days. The method is applicable over a wide linearity range (up to 110 µg ml?1). A low reagent concentration is required (2 ml, 0.009 mol l?1 in ethanol). The complex exhibits maximum absorption in the range of wavelength 510–522 nm and 514 nm was selected for further study. The molar absorptivity was 1.864 × 103 l mol?1 cm?1, Sandell’s sensitivity was 0.102 µg of osmium(IV) cm?2. Proposed method was successfully applied for separation and determination of osmium(IV) from binary and ternary synthetic mixtures containing associated metal ions. A scheme for mutual separation of osmium(IV), rhodium(III) and platinum(IV) is developed.  相似文献

Summary The 1:1 complex between titanium (IV) and 5-Br-PADAP can be used to determine titanium by adsorption voltammetry at a stationary Hg-electrode. The experimental conditions for the determination are described. The detection limit is 3×10–10 mol/l Ti (0.015 ppb). Calibration curves are linear for solutions containing 4×10–10 to 5×10–8 mol/l Ti(IV) and an enrichment time of 3 min. The influence of foreign ions was investigated. The determination can be carried out in the presence of a 5000-fold excess of iron.  相似文献

The investigation of the dissolved iron(III)–nitrilotriacetate–hydroxide system in the water solution (I=0.1 mol L?1 in NaClO4; pH 8.0±0.1) using differential pulse cathodic voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, and sampled direct current (DC) polarography, was carried out on a static mercury drop electrode (SMDE). The dissolved iron(III) ion concentrations varied from 2.68×10?6 to 6×10?4 mol L?1 and nitrilotriacetate concentrations were 1×10?4 and 5×10?4 mol L?1. By deconvoluting of the overlapped reduction voltammetric peaks using Fourier transformation, four relatively stable, dissolved iron(III) complex species were characterized, as follows: [Fe(NTA)2]3?, mixed ligand complexes [FeOHNTA]? and [Fe(OH)2NTA]2?, showing a one‐electron quasireversible reduction, and binuclear diiron(III) complex [NTAFeOFeNTA]2?, detected above 4×10?4 mol L?1 of the added iron(III) ions, showing a one‐electron irreversible reduction character. The calculations with the constants from the literature were done and compared with the potential shifts of the voltammetric peaks. Fitting was obtained by changing the following literature constants: log β2([Fe(NTA)2]3?) from 24 to 27.2, log β1([FeNTA]?) from 8.9 to 9.2, log β2([Fe(NTA)2]4?) from 11.89 to 15.7 and log β2([Fe(OH)2NTA]3?) from 15.63 to 19. The determination of the electrochemical parameters of the mixed ligand complex [FeOHNTA]?, such as: transfer coefficient (α), rate constant (ks) and formal potential (E°') was done using a sampled DC polarography, and found to be 0.46±0.05, 1.0±0.3×10?3 cm s?1, and ?0.154±0.010 V, respectively. Although known previously in the literature, these four species have now for the first time been recorded simultaneously, i.e. proved to exist simultaneously under the given conditions.  相似文献

A simple and rapid flow-injection spectrophotometric method for the determination of iron(III) and total iron is proposed. The method is based on the reaction between iron(III) and O-acetylsalicylhydroxamic acid (AcSHA) in a 2 % methanol solution resulting in an intense violet complex with strong absorption at 475 nm. Optimum conditions for the determination of iron(III) and the interfering ions were tested. The relative standard deviation for the determination of 5 μg L−1 iron(III) was 0.85 % (n = 10), and the limit of detection (blank signal plus three times the standard deviation of the blank) was 0.5 μg L−1, both based on the injection volumes of 20 μL. The method was successfully applied in the determination of iron(III) and total iron in water and ore samples. The method was verified by analysing a certified reference material Zn/Al/Cu 43XZ3F and also by the AAS method.  相似文献

A highly sensitive and selective catalytic adsorptive cathodic striping procedure for the determination of trace germanium is presented. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the Ge(IV)‐gallic acid (GA) complex onto a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by reduction of the adsorbed species. The reduction current is enhanced catalytically by addition of vanadium(IV)‐EDTA. The optimal experimental conditions include the use of 0.03 mol/L HClO4 (pH1.6), 6.0×10?3 mol/L GA, 3.0×10?3 mol/L V(IV), 4.0×10?3 mol/L EDTA, an accumulation potential of ?0.10 V(vs. Ag/AgCl), an accumulation time of 120 s and a differential pulse potential scan mode. The peak current is proportional to the concentration of Ge(IV) over the range of 3.0×10?11 to 1.0×10?8 mol/L and the detection limit is 2×10?11 mol/L for a 120 s adsorption time. The relative standard deviation at 5.0×10?10 mol/L level is 3.1%. No serious interferences were found. The method was applied to the determination of germanium in ore, mineral water and vegetable samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The kinetics of oxidation of diaquadichloro(1,10-phenanthroline)chromium(III) complex, [CrIII(phen)(H2O)2Cl2]+, by N-bromosuccinimide (NBS) is biphasic. The first faster step involves the oxidation of Cr(III) to Cr(IV). The second slower step is due to the oxidation of Cr(IV) to Cr(V). The reaction product is isolated and characterized by electron spin resonance (ESR), IR, and elemental analysis. The chromium(V) product is consistent with the formula [CrV(phen)Cl2(O)]Br. The rate constants kf and ks, for the faster and the slower steps respectively, were obtained using an Origin 9.0 software program. Values of both kf and ks, varied linearly with [NBS] at constant reaction conditions. The effect of pH on the reaction rate is investigated over the pH (4.11–6.01) range at 25.0°C. The rate constants kf and ks increased with increasing pH. This is consistent with hydroxo forms of the chromium species being more reactive than the aqua forms. Chromium(III) complexes, more often than not, are inert. The oxidation of the Cr(III) complex to Cr(IV), most likely, proceeds by an outer sphere mechanism. Since chromium(IV) is labile the mechanism of its oxidation to chromium(V) is not certain.  相似文献

Abstract

This method is based on the catalytic effect of Fe3+ on the oxidation reaction between Acid Chrome Blue K and potassium bromate in sulfuric acid medium at 100deg;C, and in 0.08 mol/L NH4OH - 0.01 mol/L (NH4)2 SO4 supporting electrolyte, Acid Chrome Blue K exhibits a sensitive polarographic wave at -0.55V vs. SCE, and change of concentration is traced by a polarographic detection technique. The linear range of Fe3+ is 10–100ng/mL. This new catalytic method has been applied to the determination of iron in natural water and food with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A novel PVC membrane ion‐selective electrode based on tribenzyltin(IV) dithiocarbamate [Sn(IV)–TBDTB] as neutral carrier was developed for thiocyanate (SCN?) determination. The electrode exhibits a near‐Nernstian response for SCN? with a slope of 62.8±2.0 mV per decade over a wide concentration range 1.0×10?1–2.0×10?6 mol L?1 and a detection limit of 1.0×10?6 mol L?1 in MES–NaOH buffer, pH 6.0, at 25 °C. The electrode prepared with 1.5 wt.% Sn(IV)–TBDTB, 32.5 wt.% PVC and 66.0 wt.% 2‐nitrophenyloctyl ether (o‐NPOE) shows optimal response characteristics. Anti‐Hofmeister selectivity sequence for a series of anions shown by the electrode was as follows: SCN?>Sal?>I?>ClO >phCOO?>CH3COO?>Br?>Cl?>NO >NO >Citrate>SO42?. The useful pH range for the electrode was found to be 3–7 with a response time 30–40 s. The electrode has been used for direct determination of thiocyanate in wastewater with satisfactory results.  相似文献

A method is proposed for the separation of antimony(III) (100–400 g) from bismuth(III), lead(II), gallium(III), thallium(III), tellurium(IV) and tin(IV) from an aqueous solution of pH 0.5–1.5 using 8×10–3–1×10–2 mol dm–3 cyanex 302 dissolved in toluene as an extractant. The antimony is stripped from the cyanex phase with water and determined spectrophotometrically with iodide. Various experimental parameters are optimized and the probable 13 stoichiometry of the extracted species is evaluated. The method is applicable to the analysis of alloys and pharmaceutical samples. The separation and determination take only 20 min.  相似文献

Abstract

The reaction between titanium(IV) and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid in aqueous media results in an intensely colored complex which is stable for at least 8h. It allows the spectrophotometric determination of titanium in silicate rocks. The proposed method, in pH 4.0–6.0, shows a molar absorptivity of 1.43.104 L.mole?1.cm?1 at 380 nm. Beer's Law is obeyed up to 3.0 μg/mL of titanium(IV). The interference of iron(III) can be eliminated by reduction to iron(II) with hydroxylamine hydrochloride. The method was applied to the determination of titanium in various standard rocks and the results indicated that the accuracy and precision are satisfatory.  相似文献
