We study the appearance and stability of spatiotemporal periodic patterns like phase-locked oscillations, mirror-reflecting waves, standing waves, in-phase or antiphase oscillations, and coexistence of multiple patterns, in a ring of bidirectionally delay coupled oscillators. Hopf bifurcation, Hopf–Hopf bifurcation, and the equivariant Hopf bifurcation are studied in the viewpoint of normal forms obtained by using the method of multiple scales which is a kind of perturbation technique, thus a clear bifurcation scenario is depicted. We find time delay significantly affects the dynamics and induces rich spatiotemporal patterns. With the help of the unfolding system near Hopf–Hopf bifurcation, it is confirmed in some regions two kinds of stable oscillations may coexist. These phenomena are shown for the delay coupled limit cycle oscillators as well as for the delay coupled chaotic Hindmarsh–Rose neurons.  相似文献

The onset of spatiotemporal chaos in coupled map lattice (CML) with a new coupling scheme called accumulated CML is studied in this paper. A rigorous proof of the existence of chaos in the sense of Li–Yorke is presented. Also the range of the coupling strength in which global synchronization can be obtained is calculated by stability analysis of the synchronized state. Finally, the positivity of Lyapunov exponents confirms the existence of chaos.  相似文献

A coupled map lattices with convective nonlinearity or, for short, Convective Coupled Map (CCM) is proposed in this paper to simulate spatiotemporal chaos in fluid flows. It is found that the parameter region of spatiotemporal chaos can be determined by the maximal Liapunov exponent of its complexity time series. This simple model implies a similar physical mechanism for turbulence such that the route to spatiotemporal chaos in fluid flows can be envisaged. The study is supported by “Nonlinear Sciences Project” from the State Science and Technology Commission of China.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors propose a novel block cryptographic scheme based on the coupled chaotic map lattice. A pseudorandom number generator is constructed with the coupled spatiotemporal chaotic map lattice, which depends on the plaintext. The plaintext block is then encrypted by the classical chaotic masking technique. The pseudorandom sequences produced by the generator have excellent statistical properties; therefore, they are suitable for encrypting messages. Moreover, it can be easily implemented in parallel by hardware. Both theoretical analysis and numerical simulation prove the block cryptographic scheme secure and practical.  相似文献

We present an index for the local sensitivity of spatiotemporal structures in coupled oscillatory systems based on the properties of local-in-space, finite-time Lyapunov exponents. For a system of nonlocally coupled Rössler oscillators, we show that variations of this index for different oscillators reflect the sensitivity to noise and the onset of spatial chaos for the patterns where coherence and incoherence regions coexist.  相似文献
