The methods of complex potentials, conformal mappings, Cauchy integrals, and least-squares are used to develop a method for determining the electromagentoelastic state (EMES) of a multiply connected half-plane, with the boundary conditions on the straight-line boundary satisfied exactly. The method underlies an approximate method for determining the EMES of a strip with arbitrarily arranged holes and cracks. This paper deals with the electromagnetoelastic problem of an elastic, conducting circular cylinder with a penny-shaped crack under a uniform axial current flow and a constant axial magnetic field. The current flow is disturbed by the presence of the crack and the torsional stresses are caused by the interactions between the magnetic field and the disturbed current. Two problems concerning the electric current density field and the electromagnetoelastic field are formulated by means of integral transform techniques and reduced to two Fredholm integral equations of the second kind. Numerical calculations are carried out and stress intensity factors are obtained for several values of the geometric parameters.  相似文献

A joint approach to the study of two non-classical fracture mechanisms, namely fracture of cracked materials with initial (residual) stresses acting along the crack planes and fracture under compression along parallel cracks, is considered in the framework of three-dimensional linearized solid mechanics. Mathematical statements of problems for pre-stressed solids that contain interacting circular cracks are given. Problems for an infinite solid containing two parallel co-axial cracks and for a space with the periodical set of co-axial parallel cracks as well as for a half-space with near-the-surface crack are solved. Several patterns of loading on the crack faces (normal loading, radial shear and torsion) are considered. The effects of initial stresses on stress intensity factors are analyzed for highly elastic materials with some types of elastic potentials. Formulation of fracture criteria accounting effect of initial (residual) stresses is given. Critical parameters of fracture of solids containing interacting cracks under compression along the cracks are calculated. The influence of geometrical parameters of the problems as well as physical and mechanical properties of materials on these critical parameters is analyzed.  相似文献

Analytical studies on electromagnetoelastic behaviors are presented for the functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) solid cylinder and sphere placed in a uniform magnetic field and subjected to the external pressure and electric loading. When the mechanical, electric and magnetic properties of the material obey an identical power law in the radial direction, the exact displacements, stresses, electric potentials and perturbations of magnetic field vector in the FGPM solid cylinder and sphere are obtained by using the infinitesimal theory of electromagnetoelasticity. Numerical examples also show the significant influence of material inhomogeneity. It is interesting to note that selecting a specific value of inhomogeneity parameter can optimize the electromagnetoelastic responses, which will be of particular importance in modern engineering designs.  相似文献

The objective of this investigation was to study the deformation and failure of uniaxially loaded graphite/epoxy plates with cracks and to determine the influence of notch size on failure. The specimens were quasi-isotropic laminates with cracks of various lengths. They were instrumented with strain gages, photoelastic coatings and moiré grids. Strains near the crack tip show two distinct points of rate change at strain levels of 0.002 and 0.006, the latter corresponding to the ultimate strain of the 90-deg plies. Failure near the crack tip takes the form of a damage zone consisting of ply subcracking along fibers, local delamination and fiber breakage. Failure occurs when this damage zone reaches some critical value. Measured maximum strains at failure exceeded twice the ultimate strain of the unnotched laminate. The average stress over a characteristic distance (5 mm) from the crack tip was used as a criterion to describe the influence of crack length on failure. Comparison of results with those from similar specimens with circular holes showed that strength was nearly independent of notch geometry in this case, i.e., specimens with holes and cracks of the same size had nearly the same strength.  相似文献

The electromagnetoviscoelastic problem is solved for piecewise-homogeneous plates. The problem is reduced to solving a sequence of electromagnetoelastic problems with complex potentials. General representations of approximation functions for multiply connected domains and boundary conditions for their determination are given. An analytical solution of the problem for a plate with one inclusion and an approximate solution for a plate with a finite number of inclusions are obtained. The change in the electromagnetoelastic state is investigated numerically as a function of time, the properties of the plate and inclusion materials, and the distance between the inclusions.  相似文献

The method of caustics was used for the study of the evolution of stress concentration around a circular hole, which progressively changes in shape and becomes an elliptic hole, tending to an internal crack. The influence of the amount of ellipticity of the holes and their orientation relative to the axis of the applied external loads at infinity on the form of caustics created around the discontinuity was studied, as the elliptic holes tended to become internal cracks. A series of experiments with tension specimens containing small elliptic holes of any ellipticity and orientation was performed. Comparison of experimentally obtained caustics with theory yielded a good agreement of both results. Finally, the use of small elliptic holes drilled all over a biaxial stress field for the determination of the individual principal stresses and the principal directions at the area of the holes was outlined.  相似文献

A mode III fracture problem of edge cracks originating from a circular hole in an infinite piezoelectric solid is studied based on complex variable method combined with the method of conformal mapping. Explicit and exact expressions for the complex potentials, field intensity factors and energy release rates are presented under the assumption that the surface of the cracks and hole is electrically impermeable. Numerical analysis is then conducted to discuss the influences of crack length and applied mechanical/electric loads on the field intensity factors and energy release rate for one and two edge cracks, respectively. It is found that for the case of a single edge crack, the field intensity factors are greater than those of double edge cracks, and moreover the electric loads can either promote or retard crack growth, depending on the magnitude and direction of the applied electric loads.  相似文献

The anti-plane problem of N arc-shaped interfacial cracks between a circular piezoelectric inhomogeneity and an infinite piezoelectric matrix is investigated by means of the complex variable method. Cracks are assumed to be permeable and then explicit expressions are presented, respectively, for the electric field on the crack faces, the complex potentials in media and the intensity factors near the crack-tips. As examples, the corresponding solutions are obtained for a piezoelectric bimaterial system with one or two permeable arc-shaped interfacial cracks, respectively. Additionally, the solutions for the cases of impermeable cracks also are given by treating an impermeable crack as a particular case of a permeable crack. It is shown that for the case of permeable interfacial cracks, the electric field is jumpy ahead of the crack tips, and its intensity factor is always dependent on that of stress. Moreover all the field singularities are dependent not only on the applied mechanical load, but also on the applied electric load. However, for the case of a homogeneous material with permeable cracks, all the singular factors are related only to the applied stresses and material constants.  相似文献

This paper presents a method for the calculation of two-dimensional elastic fields in a solid containing any number of inhomogeneities under arbitrary far field loadings. The method called pseudo-dislocations method, is illustrated for the solution of interacting elliptic inhomogeneities. It reduces the interacting inhomogeneities problem to a set of linear algebraic equations. Numerical results are presented for a variety of elliptic inhomogeneity arrangements, including the special cases of elliptic holes, cracks and circular inhomogeneities. All these complicated problems can be solved with high accuracy and efficiency.  相似文献

基于复变函数理论,结合保角变换技术研究含功能梯度材料(FGM)加强环的任意几何形状孔附近应力集中。采用分层均匀化方法,给出了远场均布载荷作用下材料参数沿孔周法线方向任意变化的FGM加强环内的复势函数解。通过数值算例,详细讨论了加强环内杨氏模量不同变化规律对三角形、正方形、矩形等各种几何形状孔附近应力分布的影响。结果表明:通过在孔周衬入FGM加强环并合理选择加强环内材料参数的递变规律,可以有效缓解各种几何形状孔附近的应力集中。同时通过一些特例与已有文献比对验证了本文结果的正确性。  相似文献

动用复变函数及积分方法方法求解了反平面圆形夹杂和多圆孔多裂纹相互作用问题。为解决该问题,建立了两种类型的基本解。利用叠加原理和所得的基本解没圆孔和裂纹表面取待定的基本解密度函数,可得一组Fredholm积分方程,通过积分方程组的数值求解,可以得到密度函数的离散值,进而得到应力强度因子。  相似文献

In this paper, we report on an experimental study of spontaneous, mixed-mode, crack propagation in weakly bonded similar and dissimilar materials. A unique experimental configuration is proposed to induce spontaneous crack growth events along the interfaces. The cracks nucleate from tiny circular holes and are triggered by an exploding wire. They subsequently propagate under the action of a constant, far-field load. Dynamic photoelasticity in conjunction with high speed photography is used to capture the real-time isochromatics associated with crack propagation. In the case of identical materials, crack propagation is anti-symmetric with respect to the crack nucleation point while strong asymmetry is observed for the case of dissimilar materials. In both cases, cracks propagate at constant velocity from the initiation point. The time histories of dynamic stress intensity factors and of energy release rates of the propagating cracks along the bonded similar materials are also reported.  相似文献
