Asymptotic solution for a perturbed mechanism of western boundary undercurrents in the Pacific

This paper consider a class of perturbed mechanism for the western boundary undercurrents in the Pacific. The model of generalized governing equations is studied. Using the perturbation method, it constructs the asymptotic solution of the model. And the accuracy of asymptotic solution is proved by the theory of differential inequalities. Thus the uniformly valid asymptotic expansions of the solution are obtained.

Asymptotic solution for a class of sea-air oscillator model for El Nin^～o-southern oscillation

The El Nifio-Southern Oscillation （ENSO） is an interannual phenomenon involved in the tropical Pacific Oceanatmosphere interactions. In this paper, an asymptotic method of solving the nonlinear equation for the ENSO model is used. And based on a class of oscillator of ENSO model, the approximate solution of a corresponding problem is studied by employing the perturbation method. Firstly, an ENSO model of nonlinear time delay equation of equatorial Pacific is introduced, Secondly, by using the perturbed method, the zeroth and first order asymptotic perturbed solutions are constructed. Finally, from the comparison of the values for a figure, it is seen that the first asymptotic perturbed solution using the perturbation method has a good accuracy. And it is proved from the results that the perturbation method can be used as an analytic operation for the sea surface temperature anomaly in the equatorial Pacific of the atmosphere-ocean oscillation for the ENSO model.

He's variational iteration method applied to the solution of the prey and predator problem with variable coefficients

In this Letter, a mathematical model of the problem of prey and predator is presented and He's variational iteration method is employed to compute an approximation to the solution of the system of nonlinear differential equations governing the problem. The results are compared with the results obtained by Adomian decomposition method and homotopy perturbation method. Comparison of the methods show that He's variational iteration method is a powerful method for obtaining approximate solutions to nonlinear equations and their systems.     

Modified variational iteration method

In this Letter, we introduce a modified variational iteration method by inserting some unknown parameters into the correctional functional. The main advantage of this method is that one can avoid the uncontrollability problems, of the nonzero endpoint conditions, encountered in the traditional variational iteration method. Moreover, the method is applied to some nonlinear equations and the numerical solutions reveal that the modified method is accurate and efficient to solve a large class of nonlinear differential equations. Furthermore, the method does not share the drawbacks of the conventional variational iteration method, namely the restriction of the order of the nonlinearity term or even the form of the boundary conditions.     

Generalized Variational Iteration Solution of Soliton for Disturbed KdV Equation

The corresponding solution for a class of disturbed KdV equation is considered using the analytic method. From the generalized variational iteration theory, the problem of solving soliton for the corresponding equation translates into the problem of variational iteration. And then the approximate solution of the soliton for the equation is obtained.     

A Variational Iteration Solving Method for a Class of Generalized Boussinesq Equations

We study a generalized nonlinear Boussinesq equation by introducing a proper functional and constructing the variational iteration sequence with suitable initial approximation. The approximate solution is obtained for the solitary wave of the Boussinesq equation with the variational iteration method.     

Variational iteration method for solving the mechanism of the Equatorial Eastern Pacific El Nino-Southern Oscillation

A class of coupled system for the E1 Nifio-Southern Oscillation （ENSO） mechanism is studied. Using the method of variational iteration for perturbation theory, the asymptotic expansions of the solution for ENSO model are obtained and the asymptotic behaviour of solution for corresponding problem is considered.     

海-气耦合动力系统的改进变分迭代解法

研究了一个描述厄尔尼诺和南方涛动振荡物理机理的海-气耦合动力系统.利用改进变分迭代方法 (MVIM)简捷地得到了该非线性模型近似解的展开式.通过与特殊情形下模型精确解的比较,说明获得的MVIM 近似解具有非常好的准确度.     

经典物理中的扰动时滞模型解

The sea--air oscillator model of decadal variations in subtropical cells and equatorial Pacific SST

In this paper a time delay equation for sea--air oscillator model is studied. The aim is to create an approximate solving method of nonlinear equation for sea--air oscillator model. Employing the method of variational iteration, it obtains the approximate solution of corresponding equation. This method is an approximate analytic method, which can be often used for analysing other behaviour of the sea surface temperature anomaly of the atmosphere--ocean oscillator model.     

强阻尼广义sine-Gordon方程特征问题的变分迭代法

研究了在数学、力学中广泛出现的一类非线性强阻尼广义sine-Gordon扰动微分方程问题. 首先, 引入行波变换, 求出退化方程的精确解. 再构造一个泛函, 创建了一个变分迭代算法, 最后, 求出原非线性强阻尼广义sine-Gordon扰动微分方程问题的近似行波解析解. 用变分迭代法可得到的各次近似解, 具有便于求解、精度高等特点. 求得的近似解析解弥补了单纯用数值方法的模拟解的不足.     

赤道东太平洋SST的海-气振子模型

研究了一个海-气振子的非线性耦合系统的模型.利用变分迭代原理，首先构造了相应的一组泛函.其次选取其Lagrange乘子.再用广义变分迭代方法得到了海-气振子模型一组解的近似序列. 关键词： 海-气振子 非线性 耦合系统 厄尔尼诺模型
