A series of bulk polycrystalline Ag-added Fe3O4 with a nominal composition, (Fe3O4)1−xAgx (x is molar fraction) with x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 have been prepared by conventional solid-state reaction. X-ray diffraction patterns show that the pure Fe3O4 sample (x=0) has a single-phase inverse spinel structure, while the Ag-added samples are two-phase composites consisting of a ferrimagnetic Fe3O4 phase and a non-magnetic metal Ag phase. The bright-field transmission electron microscopy images exhibit that the samples are typical granular solids with a porosity of about 22%. The addition of Ag slightly increases the average grain size of the Fe3O4 phase and significantly enhances the MR effect of bulk polycrystalline Fe3O4 samples. Of all the samples the x=0.3 sample has a maximal MR of −5.1% at 300 K in a magnetic field of 1 T, and −6.8% in 5 T, which are approximately three times greater than the corresponding MR values (−1.8% at 1 T and −2.4% at 5 T) of the Fe3O4 sample. This enhancement of the MR can be attributed to the combination effect from the spin-dependent scattering at the interfaces between the Fe3O4 grains and the Ag granules and the spin-polarized tunneling at grain boundaries of Fe3O4 phase of the spin-polarized electrons.  相似文献

The magnetic and transport properties of nanocrystalline ZnxFe3−xO4 with x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0, respectively, fabricated by the sol-gel method have been investigated. Large magnetoresistance (MR) was observed and found to be originated both from the tunneling of the spin-polarized electrons across the adjacent ferromagnetic grains and the scattering by the canted spins at the grain surface near the grain boundaries. It has been revealed that the MR for the ZnxFe3−xO4 samples (x=0, 0.5 and 1.0) increases with the temperature decreasing from room temperature until a maximum is reached at around 55 K. Then a sharp drop occurs with the further decrease in temperature, regarded as a spin (cluster) glass transition. For the samples studied, a biggest low field (0.5 T) MR value of about 20% for x=0 at 55 K has been obtained. The mechanism of the MR behavior of the materials was discussed.  相似文献

The magnetic and magnetoresistive properties of spinel-type Zn1−xCoxFe2O4 (x=0, 0.2 and 0.4) ferrites are extensively investigated in this study. A large negative magnetoresistance (MR) effect is observed in Zn1−xCoxFe2O4 ferrites of spinel structure. These materials are either ferrimagnetic or paramagnetic at room temperature, and show a spin-(cluster) glass transition at low temperatures, depending on the chemical compositions. The MR curves as a function of magnetic fields, MR(H), are parabolic at all temperatures for paramagnetic polycrystalline ZnFe2O4. The MR for ZnFe2O4 at 110 K in the presence of 9 T applied magnetic field is 30%. On the other hand, MR(H) are linear for x=0.2 and 0.4 ferrimagnetic Zn1−xCoxFe2O4 samples up to 9 T. The MR effect is independent of the sintering temperatures, and can be explained with the help of the spin-dependent scattering and the Yafet–Kittel angle of Zn1−xCoxFe2O4 mixed ferrites.  相似文献

Magnetic nanocomposites of Sm(Co1−xFex)5/Fe3O4 (x≈0.1) with the core/shell type structure were successfully fabricated using a two-step polyol process, where as-prepared SmCo5(1−x) nanoparticles were used as seeds for the ferrite coating. The core/shell composites are quite stable in air and show a typical hysteric behavior of single component, yielding an enhanced coercivity of 2.2 kOe with a saturated magnetization of 130 emu/g at 5 T. The magnetization data clearly reveal the presence of effective exchange coupling between the hard-magnetic Sm(Co1−xFex)5 core and soft-magnetic Fe3O4 shell, suggestive of a single-phase structure rather than a distinctive two-phase one.  相似文献

Composite samples (1−x)La0.7Ca0.2Sr0.1MnO3(LCSMO)+x(ZnO) with different ZnO doping levels x have been investigated systematically. The structure and morphology of the composites have been studied by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). The XRD and SEM results indicate that no reaction occurs between LCSMO and ZnO grains, and that ZnO segregates mostly at the grain boundaries of LCSMO. The magnetic properties reveal that the ferromagnetic order of LCSMO is weakened by addition of ZnO. The results also show that ZnO has a direct effect on the resistance of LCSMO/ZnO composites, especially on the low-temperature resistance. With increase of the ZnO doping level, TP shifts to a lower temperature and the resistance increases. It is interesting to note that an enhanced magnetoresisitance (MR) effect for the composites is found over a wide temperature range from low temperature to room temperature in an applied magnetic field of 3 kOe. The maximum MR appears at x=0.1. The low field magnetoresistance (LFMR) results from spin-polarized tunneling. However, around room temperature, the enhanced MR of the composites is caused by magnetic disorder.  相似文献

A series of Cox(Alq3)1−x granular films were prepared using the co-evaporating technique. HRTEM images show typical characteristics of granular films with the average size of 2-5 nm. It shows a gradual change from superparamagnetism to ferromagnetism with the rise of x. Negative magnetoresistance (MR) was observed, reaching −5.31% in x=0.44 sample at 30 K under the field of 10 kOe. The concentration dependence of MR and resistivity is also investigated. The inter-particle tunneling is believed to account for the negative MR effect.  相似文献

Zn1−xNixFe2O4 ferrite nanoparticles were prepared by sol–gel auto-combustion and then annealed at 700 °C for 4 h. The results of differential thermal analysis indicate that the thermal decomposition temperature is about 210 °C and Ni–Zn ferrite nanoparticles could be synthesized in the self-propagating combustion process. The microstructure and magnetic properties were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and Vibrating sample magnetometer. It is observed that all the spherical nanoparticles with an average grain size of about 35 nm are of pure spinel cubic structure. The crystal lattice constant declines gradually with increasing x from 0.8435 nm (x=0.20) to 0.8352 nm (x=1.00). Different from the composition of Zn0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 for the bulk, the maximum Ms is found in the composition of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 for nanoparticles. The Hc of samples is much larger than the bulk ferrites and increases with the enlarging x. The results of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 annealed at different temperatures indicate that the maximum Ms (83.2 emu/g) appears in the sample annealed at 900 °C. The Hc of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 firstly increases slightly as the grain size increases, and presents a maximum value of 115 Oe when the grains grow up to about 30 nm, and then declines rapidly with the grains further growing. The critical diameter (under the critical diameter, the grain is of single domain) of Zn0.3Ni0.7Fe2O4 nanoparticles is found to be about 30 nm.  相似文献

Manganese ferrite (MnxFe3−xO4) thin films have been prepared by a sol–gel method. The samples (x≤1.25) are polycrystalline containing well-defined grains and maintain cubic spinel structure with increasing lattice constant with x. The substituting Mn ions were found to have multi-valence, +2 and +3, by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The saturation magnetization of the Mn-substituted films measured by vibrating sample magnetometry was found to increase from that of Fe3O4 at low x and then gradually decreases as x increases further. Such magnetic behavior can be explained in terms of the dominance of Mn2+ species over Mn3+ at low x and the gradual decrease in the population ratio Mn2+/Mn3+ as x increases. The observed decrease in the coercivity with increasing x implies the increase in octahedral Mn2+ population. The Mn-substituted samples exhibit magnetoresistance (MR) effect the maximum intensity of which is gradually reduced with x from that of Fe3O4. All samples show increasing MR with increasing external field (H), while their magnetization curves start to saturate near H=2 kOe. Such increasing MR with H can be explained in terms of the tunneling of spin-polarized carriers across grain boundaries. The reduction in the MR intensity with x can be partly explained in terms of the decrease in spin-polarized carrier density associated with octahedral occupation of Mn2+ ions.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline spinel ferrite thin films of CoxFe3−xO4 (x=0.3x=0.3, 0.5, 0.8, and 1.0) have been prepared by RF sputtering on quartz substrate without a buffer layer at room temperature and annealed at the temperature range from 200 to 600 °C in air. The as-sputtered films exhibit the preferred orientation and the high magnetization and coercivity. After annealing, the preferred orientations become poor, but the magnetization and coercivity increase. The sample with a magnetization of 455 emu/cm3, a coercivity of 2.8 kOe, a remanence ratio of 0.72, and a maximum energy product of 2.4 MGOe has been obtained. The influence of Co ions and annealing temperature on the magnetic properties has been discussed.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline Co2xNi0.5−xZn0.5−xFe2O4 (x=0−0.5) thin films have been synthesized with various grain sizes by a sol-gel method on polycrystalline silicon substrates. The morphology as well as magnetic and microwave absorption properties of the films calcined at 1073 K were studied using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry. All films were uniform without microcracks. The Co content in the Co-Ni-Zn films resulted in a grain size ranging from 15 to 32 nm while it ranged from 33 to 49 nm in the corresponding powders. Saturation and remnant magnetization increased with increase in grain size, while coercivity demonstrated a drop due to multidomain behavior of crystallites for a given value of x. Saturation magnetization increased and remnant magnetization had a maximum as a function of grain size independent of x. In turn, coercivity increased with x independent of grain size. Complex permittivity of the Co-Ni-Zn ferrite films was measured in the frequency range 2-15 GHz. The highest hysteretic heating rate in the temperature range 315-355 K was observed in CoFe2O4. The maximum absorption band shifted from 13 to 11 GHz as cobalt content increased from x=0.1 to 0.2.  相似文献

Single-phase polycrystalline samples of La0.67Ca0.33Mn1−xO3 (x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06) have been prepared using the sol-gel method. The structure, magnetocaloric properties and the Curie temperature of the samples with different Mn vacancy concentrations have been investigated. The experimental results show that vacancy doping at the Mn-sites has a significant influence on the magnetic properties of La0.67Ca0.33Mn1−xO3. The Curie temperature decreases monotonically with increasing the Mn-site vacancy concentration x. A remarkable enhancement of the magnetic entropy change has been obtained in the La0.67Ca0.33Mn0.98O3 sample. The entropy change reaches |ΔSM|=3.10 J kg−1 K−1 at its Curie temperature (264 K) under an applied magnetic field H=10 kOe, which is almost the same value as that of pure Gd.  相似文献

Y1.9−xLi0.1EuxO3 (x=0.02, 0.05, 0.08, and 0.12) films were fabricated by spin-coating method. A colloidal silica suspension with Y1.9−xLi0.1EuxO3 phosphor powder was exploited to obtain the highly stable and effective luminescent films onto the glass substrate. After heating as-prepared Y1.9−xLi0.1EuxO3 films at 700 °C for 1 h, the phosphor films exhibit a high luminescent brightness as well as a strong adhesiveness on the glass substrate. The emission spectra of spin-coated and pulse-laser deposited Y1.82Li0.1Eu0.08O3 films were compared. The cathodoluminescence of the phosphor films was carried out at the anode voltage 1 kV.  相似文献

Multiferroic Bi0.95Sm0.05Fe1−xCoxO3 (x=0−0.1) ceramics were prepared by the rapid liquid phase sintering method. For all the samples studied, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss decrease with increasing frequency in the range from 1 kHz to 1 MHz. It shows that the dielectric constant of Bi0.95Sm0.05FeO3 at 10 kHz is about forty times larger than that of pure BiFeO3. This dramatic change in the dielectric properties of Bi0.95Sm0.05Fe1−xCoxO3 (x=0−0.1) samples can be understood in terms of the space charge limited conduction associated with crystal defects, which was indicated by the increase of magnetoelectric effect with doping Co3+ under applied magnetic field from 1 to 8 kOe. It was believed that the ferroelectric polarization enhancement comes from the exchange interaction between the Sm3+ and Fe3+ or Co3+ ions for Bi0.95Sm0.05Fe0.95Co0.05O3 at room temperature.  相似文献

We have measured positive exchange bias in a Ni80Fe20/NixFe1−xO thin-film nanocrystallite system. A series of solid solution NixFe1−xO 40 nm thick films capped with 25 nm thick Ni80Fe20 were deposited using a range of %O2/Ar bombardment energies (i.e. End-Hall voltages). Proper tuning of the deposition conditions results in a Ni80Fe20/NixFe1−xO (30%O2/Ar) based bilayer that exhibits a positive exchange bias loop shift of Hex∼60 Oe at 150 K.  相似文献

Effects of Mn substitution for Co and Fe on the structural and magnetic properties of inverse-spinel CoFe2O4 have been investigated. MnxCo1−xFe2O4 and MnyCoFe2−yO4 thin films were prepared by a sol–gel method. The observed increase of the lattice constant of MnxCo1−xFe2O4 indicates that Mn2+ ions substitute the octahedral Co2+ sites. Conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy data indicate that a fraction of octahedral Co2+ ions exchange sites with tetrahedral Fe3+ ions through Mn doping. Vibrating-sample magnetometry data exhibit a large increase of saturation magnetization for both MnxCo1−xFe2O4 and MnyCoFe2−yO4 films compared to that of the CoFe2O4 film. Such enhancement of magnetization can be explained in terms of a breaking of ferrimagnetic order induced by the Co2+ migration.  相似文献

Submicron-sized SrFe12−xAlxO19 (x=1.3) was formed in glass-ceramic matrix using controlled thermocrystallization of the SrO–Fe2O3–Al2O3–B2O3 glass and the hexaferrite powder was obtained by removing the matrix phases. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis and magnetization measurements. The glass-ceramic material exhibits very high coercivity value up to 10.18 kOe which approaches a theoretically estimated maximum value for the compound. The hexaferrite powder consists of well faceted single crystals, which adopt the shape of a truncated hexagonal bipyramid. The powder saturation magnetization value is close to the theoretically estimated one for bulk material. Crystal structure of the powder was refined by Rietveld method and distribution of Al atoms on Fe sites was determined. Al atoms occupy 41% of 2a sites, 14% of 12k sites and 5% of 4e(1/2) sites, while 4f sites are not affected.  相似文献

We have investigated the magnetic phase diagram of polycrystalline and single-crystal La1−xSrxMnO3 near 0.46≤x≤0.50. It turns out that for x<0.48, the polycrystalline material is ferromagnetic (FM), but for x≥0.48, incipient charge ordering takes place along with antiferromagnetism. At x=0.48, the ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic phase transition in ceramics occurs at less than 85 kOe but requires significantly larger field for increasing x. These observations are in contrast to what is found in the single crystals, which are all FM.  相似文献

Cobalt-substituted ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized with a narrow size distribution using reverse micelles formed in the system water/AOT/isooctane. Fe:Co ratios of 3:1, 4:1, and 5:1 were used in the synthesis, obtaining cobalt-substituted ferrites (CoxFe3−xO4) and some indication of γ-Fe3O4 when 4:1 and 5:1 Fe:Co ratios were used. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) verified the presence of cobalt in all samples. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) showed bands at ∼560 and ∼400 cm−1, characteristic of the metal–oxygen bond in ferrites. Transmission electron microscopy showed that the number median diameter of the particles was ∼3 nm with a geometric deviation of ∼0.2. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the inverse spinel structure typical of ferrites with a lattice parameter of a=8.388 Å for Co0.61Fe0.39O4, which is near that of CoFe2O4 (a=8.394 Å). Magnetic properties were determined using a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). Coercivities higher than 8 kOe were observed at 5 K, whereas at 300 K the particles showed superparamagnetic behavior. The anisotropy constant was determined based on the Debye model for a magnetic dipole in an oscillating field and an expression relating χ′ and the temperature of the in-phase susceptibility peak. Anisotropy constant values in the order of ∼106 erg/cm3 were determined using the Debye model, whereas anisotropy constants in the order of ∼107 erg/cm3 were calculated assuming Ωτ=1 at the temperature peak of the in-phase component of the susceptibility curve as commonly done in the literature. Our analysis demonstrates that the assumption Ωτ=1 at the temperature peak of χ′ is rigorously incorrect.  相似文献

Polycrystalline thin films of Fe3−xZnxO4 (x = 0.0, 0.01 and 0.02) were prepared by pulsed-laser deposition technique on Si (1 1 1) substrate. X-ray diffraction studies of parent as well as Zn doped magnetite show the spinel cubic structure of film with (1 1 1) orientation. The order–disorder transition temperature for Fe3O4 thin film with thickness of 150 nm are at 123 K (Si). Zn doping leads to enhancement of resistivity by Zn2+ substitution originates from a decrease of the carrier concentration, which do not show the Verwey transition. The Raman spectra for parent Fe3O4 on Si (1 1 1) substrate shows all Raman active modes for thin films at energies of T2g1, T2g3, T2g2, and A1g at 193, 304, 531 and 668 cm−1. It is noticed that the frequency positions of the strongest A1g mode are at 668.3 cm−1, for all parent Fe3O4 thin film shifted at lower wave number as 663.7 for Fe2.98Zn0.02O4 thin film on Si (1 1 1) substrate. The integral intensity at 668 cm−1 increased significantly with decreasing doping concentration and highest for the parent sample, which is due to residual stress stored in the surface.  相似文献

Sn1−xMnxO2 (x=0.01-0.05) thin films were synthesized on quartz substrate using an inexpensive ultrasonic spray pyrolysis technique. The influence of doping concentration and substrate temperature on structural and magnetic properties of Sn1−xMnxO2 thin films was systematically investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies of these films reflect that the Mn3+ ions have substituted Sn4+ ions without changing the tetragonal rutile structure of pure SnO2. A linear increase in c-axis lattice constant has been observed with corresponding increase in Mn concentration. No impurity phase was detected in XRD patterns even after doping 5 at% of Mn. A systematic change in magnetic behavior from ferromagnetic to paramagnetic was observed with increase in substrate temperature from 500 to 700 °C for Sn1−xMnxO2 (x=0.01) films. Magnetic studies reveal room-temperature ferromagnetism (RTFM) with 3.61×10−4 emu saturation magnetization and 92 Oe coercivity in case of Sn1−xMnxO2 (x=0.01) films deposited at 500 °C. However, paramagnetic behavior was observed for the films deposited at a higher substrate temperature of 700 °C. The presence of room-temperature ferromagnetism in these films was observed to have an intrinsic origin and could be obtained by controlling the substrate temperature and Mn doping concentration.  相似文献
