We investigate quantum teleportation and Bell nonlocality for two channel qubits coupled via the Heisenberg interaction and subject to two independent dissipative environments. Compared with the case of two uncoupled qubits, it is shown that the interaction Hamiltonian is beneficial for enhancing the teleportation fidelity and Bell nonlocality, and remarkably, it can also be used to create nonclassical teleportation fidelity and Bell nonlocality even from the initial product states. Moreover, the interaction Hamiltonian guarantees the generation of steady-state nonclassical teleportation fidelity, which is independent of the initial state and therefore one can take any state as the initial channel state.  相似文献

We investigate nonlocality distillation using measures of nonlocality based on the Elitzur-Popescu-Rohrlich decomposition. For a certain number of copies of a given nonlocal box, we define two quantities of interest: (i) the nonlocal cost and (ii) the distillable nonlocality. We find that there exist boxes whose distillable nonlocality is strictly smaller than their nonlocal cost. Thus nonlocality displays a form of irreversibility which we term "bound nonlocality." Finally, we show that nonlocal distillability can be activated.  相似文献

The validity of the conclusion to the nonlocality of quantum mechanics, accepted widely today as the only reasonable solution to the EPR and Bell issues, is questioned and criticized. Arguments are presented which remove the compelling character of this conclusion and make clear that it is not the most obvious solution. Alternative solutions are developed which are free of the contradictions related with the nonlocality conclusion. Firstly, the dependence on the adopted interpretation is shown, with the conclusion that the alleged nonlocality property of the quantum formalism may have been reached on the basis of an interpretation that is unnecessarily restrictive. Secondly, by extending the conventional quantum formalism along the lines of Ludwig and Davies it is shown that the Bell problem may be related to complementarity rather than to nonlocality. Finally, the dependence on counterfactual reasoning is critically examined. It appears that locality on the quantum level may still be retained provided one accepts a newly proposed principle of nonreproducibility at the individual quantum level as an alternative of quantum nonlocality. It is concluded that the locality principle can retain its general validity, in full conformity with all experimental data.  相似文献

Hardy’s nonlocality is a “nonlocality proof without inequalities”: it exemplifies that quantum correlations can be qualitatively stronger than classical correlations. This paper introduces variants of Hardy’s nonlocality in the CHSH scenario which are realized by the PR-box, but not by quantum correlations. Hence this new kind of Hardy-type nonlocality is a proof without inequalities showing that superquantum correlations can be qualitatively stronger than quantum correlations.  相似文献

We investigate the soliton steering in weakly nonlocal nonlinear media with harmonic modulation of the refractive index. It is shown that the weak nonlocality originated from the nonlocal nonlinear response of medium induces a transverse modulation of the refractive index, which leads to the occurrence of interplay between the weak nonlocality-induced transverse modulation and the harmonic modulation. Thus, one can control the soliton steering in weakly nonlocal medium, such as nematic liquid crystal, by employing the competition between the weak nonlocality parameter and the lattice depth.  相似文献

Local measurements on bipartite maximally entangled states can yield correlations that are maximally nonlocal, monogamous, and with fully random outcomes. This makes these states ideal for bipartite cryptographic tasks. Genuine-multipartite nonlocality constitutes a stronger notion of nonlocality in the multipartite case. Maximal genuine-multipartite nonlocality, monogamy, and random outcomes are thus highly desired properties for genuine-multipartite cryptographic scenarios. We prove that local measurements on any Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state can produce correlations that are fully genuine-multipartite nonlocal, monogamous, and with fully random outcomes. A key ingredient in our proof is a multipartite chained Bell inequality detecting genuine-multipartite nonlocality, which we introduce. Finally, we discuss applications to device-independent secret sharing.  相似文献

Hardy's theorem on nonlocality has been verified by a series of experiments with two-qubit entangled pure states.However,in this paper we demonstrate the experimental test of the theorem by using the two-photon entangled mixed states.We first investigate the generic logic in Hardy's proof of nonlocality,which can be applied for arbitrary two-qubit mixed polarization entangled states and can be reduced naturally to the well-known logic tested successfully by the previous pure state experiments.Then,the optimized violations of locality for various experimental parameters are delivered by the numerical method.Finally,the logic argued above for testing Hardy's theorem on nonlocality is demonstrated experimentally by using the mixed entangled-photon pairs generated via pumping two type-I BBO crystals.Our experimental results shows that Hardy's proof of nonlocality can also be verified with two-qubit polarization entangled mixed states,with a violation of about 3.4 standard deviations.  相似文献

In this paper, using relative entropy, we study monogamous properties of measurement-induced nonlocality based on relative entropy. Depending on different measurement sides, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for two types of monogamy inequalities. By the concept of nonlocality monogamy score, we find a necessary condition of the vanished nonlocality monogamy score for arbitrary three-party states. In addition, two types of necessary and sufficient conditions of the vanished nonlocality monogamy scores are obtained for any pure states. As an application, we show that measurement-induced nonlocality based on relative entropy can be viewed as a "nonlocality witness" to distinguish generalized GHZ states from the generalized W states.  相似文献

The Bell nonlocality is closely related to the foundations of quantum physics and has significant applications to security questions in quantum key distributions. In recent years, the sharing ability of the Bell nonlocality has been extensively studied. The nonlocality of quantum network states is more complex. We first discuss the sharing ability of the simplest bilocality under unilateral or bilateral POVM measurements, and show that the nonlocality sharing ability of network quantum states under unilateral measurements is similar to the Bell nonlocality sharing ability, but different under bilateral measurements. For the star network scenarios, we present for the first time comprehensive results on the nonlocality sharing properties of quantum network states, for which the quantum nonlocality of the network quantum states has a stronger sharing ability than the Bell nonlocality.  相似文献

We formulate diagrammatic rules for many-body perturbation theory which uses Kohn-Sham Green's functions as basic propagators. The diagram technique allows one to study the properties of the dynamic nonlocal exchange-correlation (xc) kernel f(xc). We show that the spatial nonlocality of f(xc) is strongly frequency dependent. In particular, in extended systems the nonlocality range diverges at the excitation energies. This divergency is related to the discontinuity of the xc potential.  相似文献

Quantum information is nonlocal in the sense that local measurements on a composite quantum system, prepared in one of many mutually orthogonal states, may not reveal in which state the system was prepared. It is shown that in the many copy limit this kind of nonlocality is fundamentally different for pure and mixed quantum states. In particular, orthogonal mixed states may not be distinguishable by local operations and classical communication, no matter how many copies are supplied, whereas any set of N orthogonal pure states can be perfectly discriminated with m copies, where m相似文献

Output nonlocality and nonclassicality for the two modes are investigated in an entanglement laser sys-tem. Within the framework of a quantum theory of multiwave mixing,nonlocality and nonclassicality are discussed according to the violations of Bell inequality and Cauchy-Schwarz inequality. It is found that both nonlocality and nonclassicality can be fulfilled in the outside cavity fields under certain conditions. We show how an effective nonlocality in imaging can lead to the sampling of a spatial region which is not significantly illuminated by an imaging probe. The nonlocality is embodied in the effective nonlocal potential describing inelastic scattering which occurs when coupled channel Schr?dinger equations are reduced to a single integro-differential equation. The context in which this prediction will be illustrated is atomic resolution imaging based on energy-loss spectroscopy in scanning transmission electron microscopy.  相似文献

 从非局域非线性薛定谔方程出发,采用分步傅里叶算法数值讨论了在一定的非局域程度条件下,(1+2)维空间光孤子的传输特性, 数值求解了光孤子各特性参量。假定非局域克尔介质的响应函数为高斯型,得出了在一定的非局域程度条件下空间光孤子的数值解,并数值证明了它们的稳定性。结果表明:(1+2)维光孤子对非局域程度依赖性很强。在一定的非局域程度下,光束能以光孤子态在非局域克尔介质中稳定传输。强非局域时,光孤子的波形是高斯型,其它的非局域程度下,不是高斯型。当非局域程度较弱时,不存在孤子解。  相似文献

本文讨论了光场初态和热库对原子——场耦合系统中量子非局域性和线性熵的影响。我们发现如果腔场无损耗且处于真空库,原子——场态会周期性的展现量子非局域性,原子和场的线性熵也会周期性地振荡,其周期和量子非局域性变化的周期相同。如果腔场损耗很弱而且热库的平均光子数很小,量子非局域性会消失,原子和场振荡的振幅逐渐减小。量子非局域性消失的速度取决于初始压缩相干态的幅度、腔的衰减系数和热库的平均光子数N。场越强、平均光子数和衰减系数越大,非局域性减弱的越快。  相似文献

Entanglement and nonlocality are both fundamental aspects of quantum theory, and play a prominent role in quantum information science. The exact relation between entanglement and nonlocality is, however, still poorly understood. Here we make progress in this direction by showing that, contrary to what previous work suggested, quantum nonlocality does not imply entanglement distillability. Specifically, we present analytically a 3-qubit entangled state that is separable along any bipartition. This implies that no bipartite entanglement can be distilled from this state, which is thus fully bound entangled. Then we show that this state nevertheless violates a Bell inequality. Our result also disproves the multipartite version of a long-standing conjecture made by Peres.  相似文献

We consider a large class of optical cavities and gain media with an off-axis external feedback which introduces a two-point nonlocality. This nonlocality moves the lasing threshold and opens large windows of control parameters where weak light spots can be strongly amplified while the background radiation remains very low. Furthermore, transverse phase and group velocities of a signal can be independently tuned and this enables us to steer it nonmechanically, to control its spatial chirping, and to split it into two counterpropagating ones.  相似文献

We address multipole surface solitons occurring at the interface between a linear medium and a nonlocal nonlinear medium. We show the impact of nonlocality, the propagation constant, and the linear index difference of two media on the properties of the surface solitons. We find that there exist a threshold value of the degree of the nonlocality at the same linear index difference of two media, only when the degree of the nonlocality goes beyond the value, the multipole surface solitons can be stable.  相似文献
