研究了在各向异性外腔下微片Nd:YAG激光器调频回馈特性.作为对比,首先给出了在各向同性外腔下调频回馈结果,激光器输出功率的半波条纹数正比于外、内腔长度之比.在回馈外腔中内置一个四分之一波片,激光偏振态发生规律性跳变,每个纵模带宽内的偏振跳变次数正比于外、内腔长之比,相同外腔长下,回馈条纹再次倍频.进行了基于法布里-珀罗腔等效模型的理论分析,结果和实验相符合.此现象在精密测量领域有潜在应用. 关键词: 光回馈 调频回馈 各向异性外腔 半波条纹数  相似文献

玻璃材料的内应力关系及所在系统的稳定性、安全性和可靠性,是精密加工领域的重要问题.基于双折射外腔激光回馈效应的应力测量技术以其先进新颖的测量原理受到普遍关注.传统理论普遍认为双折射回馈系统中激光器的输出相位仅由外腔相位延迟决定,而将测量误差归因于外腔镜的非线性运动.本文结合正交偏振激光原理和三镜腔等效模型,测量了激光器的内腔双折射引起的频差大小,进行了频率调谐回馈实验,并根据结论计算了内腔频差对外腔相位延迟测量结果的影响,发现激光器的输出相位由外腔相位延迟、内腔频差、外腔长度共同决定.本文总结了内腔和外腔各向异性共同作用下激光器正交偏振态的相位特性,补充了激光回馈的物理内容,对于应力-双折射、位移、距离等重要参量的精确测量,都具有重要指导意义.  相似文献

微片激光器由于自身的内应力会输出频率分裂的正交偏振的两个模式.研究了回馈对微片激光器频差的影响.研究发现:在回馈的作用下微片激光器的频差大小呈现出以初始频差为中心的类正弦的频差调制,周期为λ/2;频差调制曲线的幅度与回馈水平成正比,但是当回馈水平过强时会出现偏振态跳变,从而使频差消失;在一定的回馈外腔范围内,频差调制曲线的幅度与初始频差亦成正比.并利用复合腔模型和激光器的自洽理论进行了理论分析和模拟,所得结果与实验结果相符.此调制现象在精密测量领域有潜在应用.  相似文献

Phase retardation of wave plate is measured by analyzing flipping points of polarization states. Measured result and system error are analyzed. Nonlinearity of piezoelectric ceramic is an important error source. The nonlinearity is measured with an interferometer based on microchip Nd:YAG laser feedback phenomenon. The measured system of phase retardation, in this paper, is calibrated to the frequency splitting system. The accuracy of the system is improved. The measurement repeatability is better than 0.12° and the accuracy is better than 0.22°. This paper has a very important significance for wave plate high precision manufacture.  相似文献

激光回馈法是一种新型的波片位相延迟测量方法。将波片放置在激光器与回馈镜之间,可使激光回馈波形产生偏振90°旋转(即跳变)现象,而两偏振态所占的周期比(占空比)与波片的位相延迟相关。通过测量占空比即可由计算机自动给出波片位相延迟。采用双向扫描回馈镜,2次获得并测出占空比,这样可以很好地消除两偏振态损耗的波动造成的测量误差,提高了该方法长期测量的稳定性。测量的重复性达到0.5°。该方法结构简单,在线测量精度高,满足工业化生产的需要。  相似文献

This paper demonstrates the influence of external optical feedback on the polarization state of longitudinal modes in quasi-isotropic microchip Nd:YAG lasers. Under optical feedback, the polarization state of longitudinal modes in quasi-isotropic lasers relies strongly on the intracavity anisotropy loss and mode competition. When the intracavity anisotropy loss is small, external optical feedback can cause polarization switching and strong mode competition between two orthogonal linearly polarized eigenstates of one laser longitudinal mode, which leads to the distortion of laser intensity modulation waveform. The polarization switching is independent of the initial external cavity length. By increasing the intracavity anisotropy loss, one polarization eigenstate can be suppressed and the laser works in single-polarization state. A theoretical analysis based on the compound cavity model is presented, which is in good agreement with the experimental results. The results offer guidance to the development of laser feedback interferometers.  相似文献

The sensitivity to fault reflection is very important for larger dynamic range in fiber fault detection technique. Using time delay signature (TDS) of chaotic laser formed by optical feedback can solve the sensitivity limitation of photodetector in fiber fault detection. The TDS corresponds to the feedback position and the fault reflection can be detected by the laser diode. The sensitivity to feedback level of circular-side hexagonal resonator (CSHR) microcavity laser is numerically simulated and the feedback level boundaries of each output dynamic state are demonstrated. The peak level of TDS is utilized to analyze the sensitivity. The demonstration is presented in two aspects:the minimum feedback level when the TDS emerges and the variation degree of TDS level on feedback level changing. The results show that the CSHR microcavity laser can respond to the feedback level of 0.07%, corresponding to -63-dB feedback strength. Compared to conventional distributed feedback laser, the sensitivity improves almost 20 dB due to the shorter internal cavity length of CSHR microcavity laser. Moreover, 1% feedback level changing will induce 1.001 variation on TDS level, and this variation degree can be influenced by other critical internal parameters (active region side length, damping rate, and linewidth enhancement factor).  相似文献

Outputs at two wavelengths with orthogonal polarizations are generated in a N2-laser pumped dye laser by a simple method. The light leaving the laser cavity at the side exit of the polarizing Glan-Thompson is redirected into the cavity via an additional mirror and a second Glan-Thompson. Depending on its polarization light is travelling different paths and may hit the grating at different angles. In this way feedback is produced for two separate light beams and lasing can take place at two wavelengths simultaneously.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high power single-frequency fiber laser. By using phosphate glass fiber as its gain media, the laser can achieve high output power of 100 mW in centimeter-long linear cavity. Single-frequency singlepolarization operation with 〈5 kHz linewidth and 65-dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is realized by using external cavity polarization feedback technology.  相似文献

We report on a seven-mirror device usable for flipping the linear polarization of a laser beam by 90°. It works over a broad spectral range in the infrared and can withstand high power. 基于自旋反转模型,研究了1550 nm垂直腔面发射激光器(1550 nm-VCSELs)在偏振保持光反馈和正交光注入下的偏振转换特性.结果表明:正交光注入下的从激光器会随着注入强度的增加产生偏振转换.在归一化注入电流较小时,改变反馈强度,会使从激光器发生偏振转换的注入强度出现规律不同的变化;改变频率失谐,会使从激光器发生偏振转换的注入强度出现规律相同的变化.  相似文献

环境磁场的干扰是影响激光陀螺精度的重要因素之一. 为了减小二频机械抖动激光陀螺的磁敏感性, 推导了环形腔的琼斯矩阵, 其中考虑了非共面角、增益介质、腔损耗、腔镜反射各向异性和应力双折射, 采用矩阵本征问题求解的摄动理论分析了环形腔的偏振态和磁敏感特性. 研究表明, 为了减小激光陀螺的磁敏感性, 应减小非共面角和腔损耗, 增大腔镜的反射各向异性. 腔镜应力双折射究竟会增大还是减小磁敏感性与应力作用主轴、受应力腔镜的位置有关, 此外它还会引起顺时针和逆时针模式之间的偏振非互易性. 磁敏感性与腔失谐近似成线性关系, 导致激光陀螺工作于增益峰值时磁敏感性并非最小. 这些结果对减小二频机械抖动激光陀螺的磁敏感性具有较好的指导意义. 关键词: 激光陀螺 磁敏感性 椭圆度 琼斯矩阵  相似文献

以半导体激光器中的复合腔模型和实测的分布反馈光纤激光器的外腔端面反射率为基础,对不同反射率条件下分布反馈光纤激光器的输出功率进行了仿真,同时搭建了二基元分布反馈光纤激光器阵列实验平台,对仿真结果进行了验证.仿真与实验结果表明:外腔反馈光重新注入分布反馈光纤激光器会增加激光器的输出功率,降低了阵列的输出功率平坦性.并且外腔端面反射率越大,这种平坦性降低的效果越明显.在构建分布反馈光纤激光器阵列时,应考虑外腔反馈对阵列输出功率平坦性造成的影响,尽量选择外腔端面反射率较小的激光器进行组阵.  相似文献

In this Letter, we propose and demonstrate an external-cavity diode laser in second-order Littrow configuration. This topology utilizes a low-efficiency diffraction grating to establish a high-finesse external cavity, strong optical feedback, a high polarization discrimination, and a circular TEM00 output mode. In our proof-of-concept experiment, we realized a cavity with a finesse of 1855, being, to the best of our knowledge, the highest value ever reported for a three-port-grating-coupled cavity. 针对激光二极管阵列提出了"组合模"概念,计算了组合模的远场分布.每个组合模在远场的空间分布呈双瓣结构.基于激光二极管阵列组合模的远场分布特征,设计了离轴外腔反馈的激光二极管阵列.运用此装置所获得激光二极管阵列的远场分布有了明显变化.与自由运转的激光二极管阵列相比,离轴外腔反馈的激光二极管阵列远场宽度减少了4.3倍.在抽运电流为16 A时,测得输出激光的功率1.82 W,这相当于相同电流下自由运转激光器输出功率的79%.组合模理论不仅可以用来指导设计一维离轴外腔反馈激光二极管阵列,而且也可以用于设计二维离轴外腔反馈激光二极管阵列.二维离轴外腔反馈激光二极管阵列可以产生高功率,高光束质量输出的激光.  相似文献

The self-mixing interference effects are investigated in birefringence dual-frequency Nd:YAG lasers at different optical feedback levels. For weak feedback level, both of the intensities of the two modes are sinusoidally modulated by external cavity length with a feedback period of half laser wavelength. While these two modes can only coexist in a part of feedback period at moderate feedback level, i.e., one mode reaches its maximum intensity, the other one extinguishes. At high feedback level, complete polarization switching (one mode oscillating, the other one extinguishing) between two polarized modes is observed, and every switching corresponds to quarter-wavelength variation of external cavity length. Furthermore, two feedback schemes, i.e., isotropic optical feedback (IOF) and polarized optical feedback (POF) are taken into account. The theoretical analysis based on a model of two-mode-coupled laser is presented, which is in good agreement with experimental results. Our results can advance the research of self-mixing interferometer of orthogonally polarized dual-frequency lasers.  相似文献

The laser output characteristics under elliptically polarized optical feedback effect are studied. Elliptically polarized light is generated by wave plate placed in the feedback cavity. By analyzing the amplitude and phase of the laser output in the orthogonal direction, some new phenomena are firstly discovered and explained theoretically.Elliptically polarized feedback light is amplified in the gain medium in the resonator, and the direction perpendicular to the original polarization direction is easiest to oscillate. The laser intensity variation in amplitude and phase are related to the amplified mode and the anisotropy of external cavity. The theoretical analysis and experimental results agree well. Because the output characteristic of the laser has a relationship with the anisotropy of the external cavity, the phenomenon also provides a method for measuring birefringence.  相似文献
