Experimental study and numerical simulations of the period doubling of injected optical pulses in Fabry-Perot laser diodes are presented. In our experiments, the period doubling is achieved within a wide input frequency range and the period doubling of the injected optical pulses with 6.32 GHz repetition rate is investigated in detail. The obtained experimental results indicate that period doubling occurs at an appropriate injected optical power level when the bias current of the Fabry-Perot laser diode is located in lower ranges. Moreover, the experimental observed features have been numerically demonstrated by using a coupled rate-equation model. Numerical simulations are consistent with the experimental results.  相似文献

A procedure for extraction of the rate-equation parameters of semiconductor laser diodes is presented. Using small signal measurements, we have formulated a complete set of equations, which can be resolved analytically to obtain a solution for a combination of parameters that constitute a modified rate-equation model and is presented here for the first time. The proposed method does not necessitate at, or below threshold measurements, which require high sensitivity from the measuring equipment. Furthermore, without the need for any optimization, the solution to the rate equations is completely self-consistent since the parameters are linked together through functional relationships. With this new method, the determination of all the necessary rate-equation parameters to carry out large signal simulation is exclusive of the measurements for signal chirp, and as such computation of the chirp parameter is not included here. Comparison between large signal measurements and simulations from the computed parameters show very good agreement for a range of above threshold bias currents.  相似文献

设计了一个半导体激光自混频干涉式测量物体振动速度的实验,利用双镜F_P(法布里_珀罗)等效模型,对半导体激光自混频干涉速度仪中的干涉效应进行了理论分析,推导了干涉信号理论模型的数学表达式,讨论了影响测量信号的因素。结果表明,在半导体激光自混频干涉速度仪的无源腔中空气密度的变化、无源腔长度的变化、激光波长的变化都将会导致信号漂移,从而引起测量误差。而被测物体表面的反射率越高,越有利于测量。  相似文献

应用光学和数学理论导出本征不对称光纤法布里-珀罗干涉仪中反射光与透射光的数学模型及低反射率法布里-珀罗干涉腔长度的变化与干涉光光强的数学模型,半指出当r11=t1t1r2=r,且t1t1=1-r1^2≈2。则法布里-珀罗腔反射光间的干涉近似为两束等幅光的干涉;文章还给出了光电转换器输出与法布里-珠罗干涉腔长度变化的数学模型。这些模型为不对称光纤法布里-珀罗干涉仪的使用提供理论依据。  相似文献

The properties of passive Q-switched short-cavity dye lasers (SCDL) and passive Q-switched distributed-feedback dye lasers (DFDL) are investigated theoretically by using rate-equation models. The calculations, in agreement with experimental results, predict a significant decrease of the pulse energy fluctuation and the pulse duration of both the SCDL and DFDL, when passive Q-switching is used.  相似文献

F-P半导体激光器中对于TE模比TM模有更大的束缚系数,并且在其反射面上有更高的反射率.当TE模和TM模同时注入F-P半导体激光器的谐振腔时,TE模方向的信号得到增长,TM模方向的信号受到抑制.F-P半导体激光器的这种特性使得它类似于一个偏振器,但是其优越之处在于经过F-P半导体激光器注入锁定之后的光信号没有功率损耗.采用F-P半导体激光器的注入锁定原理,使入射光信号没有功率损耗地由偏振光转换为部分偏振光,降低了通信系统中传输信号的偏振敏感性,使传输信号的质量得到提高,实现了F-P半导体激光器三波长和四波长注入锁定.  相似文献

从理论和实验上研究了利用光注入半导体激光器对高重复速率光脉冲产生的周期振荡和时钟分频现象.结果表明,光注入半导体激光器引起的二倍周期振荡是使注入脉冲重复频率分频的直接原因.通过耦合速率方程,数值模拟了半导体激光器在外光注入时输出光的时间序列和功率谱,并且分析了激光腔内各种周期振荡的特征.研究表明,当注入光使半导体激光器出现稳定的二倍周期振荡,且注入光的重复频率为此振荡频率的二倍时,时钟分频即可产生实验中,采用重复频率为6.32GHz的光脉冲注入Fabry-Perot激光器,实现了3.16GHz时钟分频信号 关键词: 周期振荡 时钟分频 光谱侧带 光注入  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, a mathematical model for the transfer function of the Fabry-Perot intensity modulator is presented. The model, basically a cosine-series function, can be used to obtain closed-form expressions for the amplitudes of the harmonic and intermodulation products of the Fabry-Perot intensity modulator driven by a multi-frequency radio frequency voltage. The special case of a Fabry-Perot intensity modulator driven by an equal-amplitude two-frequency radio frequency voltage is considered in detail, and the results are compared, whenever possible, with previously published experimental and numerically obtained results.  相似文献

 优化了基于双边缘技术的直接测风多普勒激光雷达中F-P标准具的工作参数。确定激光谱宽后,选择适当的F-P标准具自由谱间距,可正确消除瑞利背景噪声的影响。分析了标准具镜面缺陷、非严格平行和入射光束发散角对其透过率曲线的影响。将标准具透过率函数表达为唯一系统参数,即反射精细度的函数;通过计算散粒噪声极限时的相对测量误差,可确定最优反射精细度以及激光频率相对标准具透过率中心频率的最佳偏置;由最优反射精细度可得到入射到标准具光束的最大发散角和标准具的最小通光口径。  相似文献

Parameters of a spectrochronograph that represents a Fabry-Perot interferometer combined with a spatial-time analyzer (a streak camera) are analyzed. Using numerical simulation, time scans of interferograms for bandwidth-limited and phase-modulated pulsed optical signals are obtained. The conditions are determined under which a Fabry-Perot interferometer represents a high-accuracy instrument for measuring the timeresolved spectral dynamics of short optical signals. In particular, an adequate representation of relatively smooth and monotone changes in amplitude and phase characteristics of an optical signal in a spectrochronograph requires that the mode lifetime in a Fabry-Perot interferometer be matched to the time scale of changes in the spectral structure of a pulse being studied. The character of distortions formed in the time-resolved spectral patterns in the case where these conditions are not fulfilled is qualitatively determined, and quantitative estimates of the distortions are presented. The results of the analysis and the numerical calculations show that a spectrochronogram obtained using a Fabry-Perot interferometer and a time analyzer (a streak camera) with parameters corresponding to the criteria formulated in the paper enable one to obtain information on the initial amplitude-phase pattern of a light pulse.  相似文献

A rate-equation model for the laser action of infrared dyes is introduced. An extended four-level scheme is used to describe the photophysical processes in the dye molecules. The dye is excited by a single picosecond pulse in the traveling-wave geometry. The spectral and temporal properties of the picosecond dye-laser emission and the gain curve of the system are calculated. The numerical results are compared to experimental data. The theoretical model is in good quantitative agreement with the experiment.  相似文献

本文对现有相位调制激光多普勒频移测量方法进行了改进,通过定义新的鉴频参量来同时利用相位调制信号直流和交流分量中的有用信息进行多普勒频移测量.由于相位调制信号直流分量中包含着调制信号光的Fabry-Perot干涉仪光强透过率,所以这一改进本质上是将基于Fabry-Perot干涉仪的边缘技术激光多普勒频移测量方法的优势引入到相位调制测量方法中,以提高其自身的性能.理论上证明改进后的相位调制激光多普勒频移测量方法无需对信号光的光强进行测量,所以可以进一步简化探测系统的结构和较少噪声混入的通道.另外,通过对改进前后鉴频和测量灵敏度曲线进行对比,还证明了其具有更高的测量灵敏度和动态范围.实验上对硬目标反射的频移可控信号光进行测量,不但证明了理论的正确性,而且证明了改进后的相位调制激光多普勒频移测量方法,测量动态范围提高约1倍,测量标准偏差降低约35%.  相似文献

光纤法布里—珀罗传感器复用、特别是串连复用的解调十分困难。为解决这个问题,从光纤法布里—珀罗应变传感器的基本原理出发、在仅有两只传感器复用的基本条件下,深人分析了复用系统组合输出光强信号及其分布特性;研究了对其进行傅里叶变换的解调原理及具体实现方法,分析了因复用信号不满足傅里叶变换条件而在变换域产生的畸变,进行了计算机仿真解调。在此基础上,搭建了两只传感器的串连复用实验系统,并用此方法实现了两只复用传感器的解调,且传感器之间的相互影响小于5%。理论与实验表明,虽然传感器的复用信号不满足傅里叶变换的标准条件,且仿真与实验存在一定差异,但所提出的傅里叶变换方法,基本可用于光纤法布里—珀罗传感器的串连复用解调。  相似文献

对注入有源Fabry-Perot腔内的单纵模脉冲进行了延时理论分析, 计算了Fabry-Perot腔内增益, 并对脉冲输出进行了数值模拟, 结果表明当脉冲能量衰减到一定值时, 新增抽运粒子数提供的增益可以补偿腔内损耗, 延时脉冲的输出可以达到稳态. 然后利用激光二极管侧面抽运Nd: YAG激光器做为Fabry-Perot腔, 对外部入射的单纵模脉冲光进行了延时, 得到了延时时间2 μups、脉冲数量140个的实验结果. 最后利用有源Fabry-Perot腔对参考光进行延时, 声光移频器对信号光产生频移, 进行了外差实验, 实验结果与移频器的设置值相符, 误差在4%以内.  相似文献

差分吸收激光雷达回波信号统计模型是研究差分吸收激光雷达系统的基础,但是现有的统计模型中均没有考虑大气湍流导致的激光闪烁对回波信号的影响。针对已有统计模型的缺陷和应用需要,综合考虑了大气湍流导致的激光闪烁、目标反射斑纹、接收噪声以及发射功率波动对回波信号统计特性的影响,提出了一种改进的长程差分吸收激光雷达回波信号统计模型,分析了该模型的统计特性。仿真结果表明大气湍流导致的激光闪烁对回波信号统计特性的影响十分显著,同时也验证了该统计模型比已有统计模型更精确、更符合实际。  相似文献

The capability of gated saturable absorbers for single-pulse selection is studied theoretically using the classical space-time-dependent rate-equation model. The dynamics of operation is followed experimentally by the well-known pump—probe technique. Comparing the theoretical and experimental results, it is found that gated saturable absorbers can efficiently be used for pulse forming and pulse selection of pulses longer than picosecond.  相似文献

An all-optical fiber nonlinear Fabry-Perot resonator is proposed. The steady-state model for describing this resonator is developed. The transmission and refection bistabilities are shown numerically. Our results show that the bistability in this system is similar to that in a normal nonlinear Fabry-Perot etalon, except that the characteristics of the bistability can be changed not only by the cavity length but also by the phase shifts of the fiber loop mirrors.  相似文献

We propose two detuned Fabry-Perot cavities, each pumped through both the mirrors, positioned in line as a toy model of the gravitational-wave (GW) detector free from displacement noise of the test masses. It is demonstrated that the noise of cavity mirrors can be completely excluded in a proper linear combination of the cavities output signals. This model is illustrated by a simplified round trip model (without Fabry-Perot cavities). We show that in low-frequency region the obtained displacement-noise-free response signal is stronger than the one of the interferometer recently proposed by S. Kawamura and Y. Chen.  相似文献
