Cognitive experiments involving motor execution (ME) and motor imagery (MI) have been intensively studied using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). However, the functional networks of a multitask paradigm which include ME and MI were not widely explored. In this article, we aimed to investigate the functional networks involved in MI and ME using a method combining the hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) and the independent component analysis (ICA). Ten right-handed subjects were recruited to participate a multitask experiment with conditions such as visual cue, MI, ME and rest. The results showed that four activation clusters were found including parts of the visual network, ME network, the MI network and parts of the resting state network. Furthermore, the integration among these functional networks was also revealed. The findings further demonstrated that the combined HCA with ICA approach was an effective method to analyze the fMRI data of multitasks.  相似文献

The transport by molecular motors along cytoskeletal filaments is studied theoretically in the presence of static defects. The movements of single motors are described as biased random walks along the filament as well as binding to and unbinding from the filament. Three basic types of defects are distinguished, which differ from normal filament sites only in one of the motors’ transition probabilities. Both stepping defects with a reduced probability for forward steps and unbinding defects with an increased probability for motor unbinding strongly reduce the velocities and the run lengths of the motors with increasing defect density. For transport by single motors, binding defects with a reduced probability for motor binding have a relatively small effect on the transport properties. For cargo transport by motors teams, binding defects also change the effective unbinding rate of the cargo particles and are expected to have a stronger effect.  相似文献

The term ‘synergy’ – from the Greek synergia – means ‘working together’. The concept of multiple elements working together towards a common goal has been extensively used in neuroscience to develop theoretical frameworks, experimental approaches, and analytical techniques to understand neural control of movement, and for applications for neuro-rehabilitation. In the past decade, roboticists have successfully applied the framework of synergies to create novel design and control concepts for artificial hands, i.e., robotic hands and prostheses. At the same time, robotic research on the sensorimotor integration underlying the control and sensing of artificial hands has inspired new research approaches in neuroscience, and has provided useful instruments for novel experiments.The ambitious goal of integrating expertise and research approaches in robotics and neuroscience to study the properties and applications of the concept of synergies is generating a number of multidisciplinary cooperative projects, among which the recently finished 4-year European project “The Hand Embodied” (THE). This paper reviews the main insights provided by this framework. Specifically, we provide an overview of neuroscientific bases of hand synergies and introduce how robotics has leveraged the insights from neuroscience for innovative design in hardware and controllers for biomedical engineering applications, including myoelectric hand prostheses, devices for haptics research, and wearable sensing of human hand kinematics. The review also emphasizes how this multidisciplinary collaboration has generated new ways to conceptualize a synergy-based approach for robotics, and provides guidelines and principles for analyzing human behavior and synthesizing artificial robotic systems based on a theory of synergies.  相似文献

Piezoelectric traveling wave rotary ultrasonic motors are motors that generate torque by using the friction force between a piezoelectric composite ring (or disk-shaped stator) and a metallic ring (or disk-shaped rotor) when a traveling wave is excited in the stator. The motor speed is proportional to the amplitude of the traveling wave and, in order to obtain large amplitudes, the stator is excited at frequencies close to its resonance frequency. This paper presents a non-empirical partial differential equations model for the stator, which is discretized using the finite volume method. The fundamental frequency of the discretized model is computed and compared to the experimentally-measured operating frequency of the stator of Shinsei USR60 piezoelectric motor.  相似文献

It is generally accepted that the temporal resolution of blood oxygenation level dependent functional MRI is limited due to the inherent latency and longevity of the haemodynamic response. However, in this study we introduce a technique for measurement of timing differences from within the same brain region in two (or more) separate tasks that allows accurate determination of cortical timing differences 200 ms. Our technique, based on a novel use of linear regression analysis, is shown to yield accurate results both in simulated and experimental data. We show that cortical timing differences measured using fMRI are consistent with published electrophysiological results. Measurement of timing differences using this technique could prove a useful strategy for identifying neural network components in a wide range of cognitive paradigms.  相似文献

Acoustic analysis was used to gain information about the normal, aswell as the abnormal acoustic events associated with adductor spasmodic dysphonia (ADSD). This analysis was completed to determine whether specific acoustic events could be used to differentiate the voice of individuals with ADSD from those with normal voice. A group comparison between 14 women diagnosed with ADSD and 14 women (age-matched) with no evidence of vocal pathology or vocal dysfunction was completed. Phonatory breaks, aperiodicity, and frequency shifts, acoustic parameters previously identified in ADSD, were found throughout sustained vowel productions. The duration of the phonatory breaks and aperiodic segments was calculated and the amount of frequency shift was determined. The location of each acoustic event was marked relative to the onset of the vowel production. The subjects with ADSD presented with normal phonation and various amounts of each of the three acoustic parameters. Aperiodic segments primarily characterized the phonation of ADSD, followed by frequency shifts and phonatory breaks. The location of each of these acoustic events was within the midportion of the vowel production. The advantages of segmenting the acoustic waveform into these measures and separating the spasmodic events from normal phonation when examining laryngeal motor control of spasmodic dysphonics is discussed  相似文献

Accurate localization of brain activity using blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has been challenged because of the large BOLD signal within distal veins. Arterial spin labeling (ASL) techniques offer greater sensitivity to the microvasculature but possess low temporal resolution and limited brain coverage. In this study, we show that the physiological origins of BOLD and ASL depend on whether percent change or statistical significance is being considered. For BOLD and ASL fMRI data collected during a simple unilateral hand movement task, we found that in the area of the contralateral motor cortex the centre of gravity (CoG) of the intersubject coefficient of variation (CV) of BOLD fMRI was near the brain surface for percent change in signal, whereas the CoG of the intersubject CV for Z-score was in close proximity of sites of brain activity for both BOLD and ASL. These findings suggest that intersubject variability of BOLD percent change is vascular in origin, whereas the origin of inter-subject variability of Z-score is neuronal for both BOLD and ASL. For longer duration tasks (12 s or greater), however, there was a significant correlation between BOLD and ASL percent change, which was not evident for short duration tasks (6 s). These findings suggest that analyses directly comparing percent change in BOLD signal between pre-defined regions of interest using short duration stimuli, as for example in event-related designs, may be heavily weighted by large-vessel responses rather than neuronal responses.  相似文献

Gradient echo (GE) and echo planar imaging (EPI) techniques are two different approaches to functional MRI (fMRI). In contrast to GE sequences, the ultra short EPI technique facilitates fMRI experiments with high spatial and temporal resolution or mapping of the whole brain. Although it has become the method of choice for fMRI, EPI is generally restricted to modern scanners with a strong gradient system. The aim of our study was to evaluate the applicability of EPI for fMRI of the motor cortex using a 1.5 T scanner with a conventional gradient system of 10 mT/m (rise time: 1 ms). Therefore, EPI was compared with a well-established high resolution fast low angle shot (FLASH) technique (matrix size 1282). The FLASH technique was applied additionally with a 642 matrix size to exclude influences caused by different spatial resolution, because the EPI sequence was restricted to a 642 matrix size. A total of 35 healthy volunteers were included in this study. The task consisted of clenching and spreading of the right hand. FLASH and EPI techniques were compared regarding geometric distortions as well as qualitative and quantitative fMRI criteria: Mean signal increase between activation and rest and the area of activation were measured within the contralateral, ipsilateral, and supplementary motor cortex. The quality of subtraction images between activation and rest, as well as the quality of z-maps and time course within activated regions of interest, was evaluated visually. EPI revealed significant distortions of the anterior and postior brain margins; lateral distortions (relevant for the motor cortex) could be neglected in most cases. The mean signal increase was significantly higher using FLASH 1282 compared to FLASH 642 and EPI 642, whereas the activated areas proved to be smaller in FLASH 1282 functional images. Both results can be explained by well-documented partial volume effects, caused by different voxel size. Similar quality of the subtraction images and of the time courses in different regions of interest were found for all techniques under investigation, but slightly reduced quality of z-map in FLASH 1282. Within the limits of reproducibility and measurement accuracy, the location of contralateral activation was similar using FLASH and EPI sequences. In conclusion, EPI proved to be a reliable technique for fMRI of the motor cortex, even on an MR scanner with a conventional gradient system.  相似文献

工业园区中边界污染气体的浓度不仅受工业园区无组织污染源的排放影响,也受园区道路机动车尾气的扩散影响。利用AG-FTIR-DA3000型开放光程傅里叶变换红外光谱(Open-FTIR)测量系统,对厂区边界污染气体进行实时在线测量,确定污染气体厂界实测浓度。同时,针对机动车尾气扩散影响厂区边界污染气体浓度的问题,通过AG-FTIR-DX4000型便携式傅里叶变换红外光谱(FTIR)测量系统,确定不同排放标准下机动车尾气污染源浓度。利用便携式FTIR测量结果、风速风向、大气稳定度、车流量等变量因素建立参考坐标,给出了高斯扩散的数理模型。并结合Open-FTIR,对Open-FTIR的测量路径进行积分计算并构建点线源扩散模型,从而建立各种排放标准的烟团线源扩散表。将Open-FTIR实测浓度与构建的点线源扩散模型模拟浓度相结合,分析工业园区边界污染气体的来源。结果表明:厂区边界污染气体主要包括一氧化碳、甲烷、乙烯、乙醛、丙烯、甲醇、丙醛、异丁烯、甲醛、二氧化硫,其中一氧化碳、甲烷、乙烯浓度受机动车尾气的扩散影响。早晚高峰期时,机动车尾气的扩散对边界污染气体浓度影响较大;非高峰期,在1:00时与4:00—6:00时浓度骤升,出现高浓度点,不符合机动车尾气模型排放规则,主要受园区排放影响。其最高浓度与集中浓度分别为:5.50与4.00 mg·m-3;1.85与1.60 mg·m-3;78.00与40.00 μg·m-3。对比扩散表,符合尾气扩散浓度分布结果。其他测量结果组分的最高值和平均值依次为:1.65与1.40 mg·m-3;2.60与1.27 mg·m-3;43.53与11.40 mg·m-3;310.23与839.05 μg·m-3;76.32与38.96 μg·m-3;47.70与25.20 μg·m-3;1.33与1.16 mg·m-3。该研究不仅实现了工业园区边界多组分污染气体的实时在线测量,同时结合外场环境及便携式FTIR测量结果实现了边界污染气体浓度的混合测定。为今后对工业园区边界污染气体的来源判断提供了一种分析思路。  相似文献

Motor fans used for cooling electric motors have long been recognized as one of the major noise sources. Current paper focuses on design of motor fan for electric motors that are used in submarines for pumping sea water. Noise reduction at source is very important and the critical task, for under water applications. An attempt has been made for reduction of motor fan noise by modification of noise sources. For this purpose computational fluid dynamics and computational aeroacoustics code FLUENT package is used to identify the noise sources and to know the overall sound pressure level of motor fan. From these results it is observed that aerodynamic noise is the dominate fan noise source. Aerodynamic noise of motor fan can be reduced by modifying fan geometry. The aerodynamic noise level of motor fan has been reduced by replacing the straight blades with various digits of NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) 65 series airfoil sections. From the numerical results it is observed that the minimum sound pressure level for NACA 65-010 is 65.4 dB(A). These numerical results are compared with measurements in a semi-anechoic chamber. It is found that there is good agreement between numerical and experimental results.  相似文献

Chaos in motor system is beneficial in some niche fields such as industrial mixing processes. In this paper, we investigate the issue of inducing chaos in Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM). Based on the differential-geometry control theory, a nonlinear function of current time-delayed control is derived. Analysis shows that the feedback scheme can induce the BLDCM operating in a stable regime to chaotic state across a large range of domain of control parameters, and if the values of control parameters α and β are set at an appropriate level, the variation of the time delay τ becomes insensitive to the occurrence of chaos, which is available in the compensation with inaccuracy of time-delay control.  相似文献
