A variational approach for the semivectorial modal analysis of dielectric waveguides with arbitrary piecewise constant rectangular 2D cross-sections is developed. It is based on a representation of a mode profile as a superposition of modes of constituting slab waveguides times some unknown continuous coefficient functions, defined on the entire coordinate axis. The propagation constant and the lateral functions are found from a variational principle. It appears that this method with one or two modes in the expansion preserves the computational efficiency of the “standard” effective index method while providing more accurate estimates for propagation constants, and well-defined continuous approximations for mode profiles. By including a larger number of suitable trial fields, the present approach can also serve as a technique for rigorous semivectorial mode analysis.  相似文献

SMS光纤结构是一种近年来新兴的光纤器件,该结构光纤具有结构简单、易于实现、成本低廉、灵敏度高和无温度应力交叉敏感等特性.在光纤传感技术领域是一种继光纤光栅之后的具有广泛发展前景的光纤器件.从理论上分析了SMS结构和SMS级联结构的光纤传感原理,并从实验上研究了SMS结构和级联SMS结构的温度传感特性.实验表明:对于SMS结构光纤传感器,随着温度的增加,特征波长移动量逐渐增加,向长波方向漂移了4.05 nm,其传感器的温度灵敏度为15.76 pm/℃;对于级联SMS结构的光纤传感器,级联后不改变原来SMS结构的中心波长的位置,两个SMS结构仍然是独立的,不相互影响.所以说将两个SMS结构串联是可行的,可以用于温度和应力的同时测量,也可以用于分布式光纤传感器.  相似文献

Polarization mode dispersion (PMD) in fibre seriously limits the high-capacity optical fibre communication system. The measurement of PMD was realized by three methods — wavelength scanning method, modified OTDR method and modified York S-38 dispersion meter method. Different types of fibres have been measured using the above three methods and the results have been found to be consistent. Finally, we also found that the measured results of longer non-polarization-maintaining fibre satisfied the Maxwellian probability density function and the results of polarization maintaining fibre were derived. 提出了三种基于少模光纤的全光纤熔融模式选择耦合器. 根据模式匹配原理采用单模光纤与少模光纤熔融连接方式, 运用耦合模理论及光束传播法模拟分析了模式选择耦合器的结构参数对模式选择及耦合特性的影响, 实现了单模光纤中基模到少模光纤中不同阶模式的转换, 以满足不同的应用需求. 实验上以2× 2熔融光纤耦合器为例, 采用对称和非对称熔融拉锥方式, 分别实现了从基模到LP11, LP21模式的转换. 实验结果表明所得到的LP11, LP21模式在1530–1560 nm的波长带宽范围内均有较高的模式纯净度, 且模式耦合效率高于80%, 与理论模拟结果基本一致.  相似文献

Exotic decay of some heavy nuclei with Z≥100 formed in heavy ion ‘cold fusion’ reaction were studied taking interacting barrier consisting of Coulomb and proximity potential. Calculated half-life time shows that some modes of decay are well within the present upper limit for measurements (T 1/2<1030 s). Cluster formation probabilities are calculated for different clusters within fission model. It is found that transition from cluster mode to fission mode take place at mass of the cluster, A 2=20 in exotic decay which is comparable with the value A 2=16 of Shanmugam et al based on cubic plus Yukawa plus exponential model (CYEM).  相似文献

详细研究了Denisov型准光模式变换器的原理和设计方法。应用几何光学理论对Denisov型开口辐射器的工作过程进行了分析,并给出了基于耦合模理论的辐射器不规则扰动段的设计方法。开发了基于耦合模理论、矢量衍射积分和物理光学法的仿真程序GQOMC-D,并将该程序的计算结果与文献报道结果进行了对比验证。利用该程序设计了一种110 GHz TE22,6模回旋振荡管准光模式变换器,仿真结果显示在输出窗上得到了场型较好的高斯波束,其模式纯度为98.4%,模式变换器的能量转换效率为94.7%。  相似文献

High-Order Mode Dispersion Compensating Modules (HOM-DCM) using spatial optical transformations for mode conversion are reviewed. It is shown that mode transformers using this technology can be designed to transform the LP01 mode of SMF fibers to the LP02 mode of specially designed dispersion compensating High-Order Mode Fiber (HOMF), with typical insertion loss of ∼1 dB, and typical extinction ratio to other modes less than -20 dB. The HOMF itself can provide high negative dispersion [typically in the range of 400-600 ps/(nm km)], and high negative dispersion slope, allowing efficient compensation of all types of transmission fiber. Combining two mode transformers with HOMF and possibly trim fiber for fine-tuning, results, for example, in a HOM-DCM that compensates 100 km LEAF? fiber, with Insertion loss < 3.5 dB, and Multi-Path Interference (MPI) < -36 dB. MPI phenomena in HOM-DCMs is characterized, and shown to comprise both coherent and incoherent parts, and to result from both the mode transformers and fiber coupling within the HOMF. MPI values of < -36 dB have been shown to allow error free transmission of 10 Gb/s signals over up to 6000 km. Finally, a number of applications well suited to the properties of HOM-DCMs are reviewed.  相似文献

In the paper the results of experimental study of negative corona in a point – plane gap in a dust-free air flow at atmospheric pressure are presented. Both the low current mode (LCM) of the discharge and Trichel pulses are externally triggered by UV light. Close to the inception voltage of Trichel pulses short-duration current spikes appear besides the steady component of the LCM which indicates to the switch-on of Fowler-Nordheim type emission mechanism. At the inception voltage spike – Trichel pulse transition is recorded. The influence of dielectric layers at the cathode on the discharge parameters is discussed.  相似文献

结合DC-DC变换器非线性特性随反馈增益k变化的关系,以及熵能够反映序列总体统计特征的特点,提出一种基于熵估计DC-DC变换器非线性行为的新方法. 以一阶电压反馈不连续导电模式 DCM Buck和Boost变换器为例,详细分析了不同反馈增益k和初值x0形成的数值序列及熵的分布情况. 研究结果表明:DC-DC变换器的熵由反馈增益k决定,与初值x0无关,最终小于理论极大值log2NN为统计区间个数);熵能够准确区分DC-DC变换器的倍周期分岔和混沌行为,从而得到一种新的可量化的DC-DC变换器非线性动力学行为指标;完善了该类变换器非线性动力学分析的理论和方法. 关键词: DC-DC变换器 熵 混沌 k')" href="#">反馈增益k  相似文献

We provide a generalization of the normal mode decomposition for nonsymmetric or locality constrained situations. This allows, for instance, to locally decouple a bipartitioned collection of arbitrarily correlated oscillators up to elementary pairs into which all correlations are condensed. Similarly, it enables us to decouple the interaction parts of multimode channels into single-mode and pair interactions where the latter are shown to be a clear signature of squeezing between system and environment. In mathematical terms the result is a canonical matrix form with respect to real symplectic equivalence transformations.  相似文献

Realistic microscopic RPA calculations for156Gd with a deformed Woods-Saxon mean field, quadrupole-quadrupole, spin-spin and symmetry-restoring residual interactions show that the purely collective scissors mode of the two-rotor model is fragmented over orbital isovector 1+ states, lying at 2–7 MeV. The strongest experimentally observed magnetic dipole state is interpreted as performing a low-collective scissors-type of geometrical motion. This conclusion evolves from the identification of the above state with the strongest RPA excitation, which reproduces well the experimental energy,B(M1) value and (e, e′) form factor, has the largest overlap with the scissors state and can be represented as a low-collective scissors type vibration.  相似文献

A simplified modal method to explain the resonance phenomenon in guided mode resonance(GMR) gratings with asymmetric coatings is presented.The resonance observed is due to the interaction of two propagation modes inside the grating.The reflectivity spectra and electric field distributions calculated from the simplified modal method are compared using rigorous coupled-wave analysis(RCWA).The influences of high-order evanescent modes on the resonance peak are analyzed.A matrix Fabry-Perot(FP) resonance condition is developed to evaluate the resonance wavelength.An explanation for the resonance phenomenon observed based on the FP resonance phase condition is also proposed and demonstrated.The simplified method provides clear physical insights into GMR gratings that are useful for the analysis of a variety of other resonance gratings.  相似文献

An apparatus to achieve a single doughnut-like Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) mode with extremely high mode purity higher than 99.6% is reported. The proposed apparatus is a conceptual combination of a high-order HG mode selector and an astigmatic mode converter, which consists of only four simple and easily-made optical elements: three lens elements and one binary phase element. Theoretical simulations show that the apparatus has a good tolerance for both system production and alignment errors. With such high mode purity, the doughnut-like LG beam generated by the apparatus carrying an orbital angular momentum will be beneficial to numbers of studies including the trapping and rotating of micro and nano-particles, non-linear optics, and atom-light interaction.  相似文献

The variation of polarization mode dispersion (PMD) with V-parameter in single mode optical fibers due to core-ellipticity is studied by performing numerical simulations taking into account both geometrical and thermal-stress-induced birefringences as well as the variation of fiber refractive indices with wavelength. Simple empirical relations are given for calculating the mean PMD for any value of core-ellipticity and V-parameter of a standard single mode fiber. It is observed that the mean PMD saturates for V ? 1.8 leading to very small second order PMD.  相似文献

介电常数为零或近零模式在微纳结构中提供了一个新的方式调控光与物质的相互作用.本文首先利用金属圆盘阵列结构激发了表面等离激元共振,在共振频率处实现了光的局域效果;然后通过在金属-绝缘体-金属超表面微纳结构中加入掺杂半导体材料,利用上层金属圆盘阵列激发的表面等离激元共振诱导介电常数近零模式的产生,从而使得介电常数近零模式与表面等离激元模式发生耦合,在中红外波段实现了一个470 nm的宽带吸收效果;数值模拟结果显示,在宽带吸收处存在光场的强局域效果.与窄带吸收相比,宽带吸收有更广泛的应用,比如吸收器、传感器、滤波器、微测辐射热计、光电探测器、相干热发射器、太阳能电池、指纹识别和能量收集装置等.  相似文献

环形谐振器是微机电系统(MEMS)谐振器中典型结构之一。其中,椭圆模态是环形谐振器面内振动的一阶模态,也是使用最为普遍的模态。以降低谐振器振荡时的锚损为目标,以有限元分析为技术手段,采用能量法对环形谐振器锚点的几何尺寸进行定量分析。分析结果表明,与研究者普遍认为的观点相反,谐振器锚点振荡模态的激发并不有助于提高谐振器的Q值。  相似文献

In this paper, a scalar variational analysis based on gaussian approximation of the fundamental mode of single mode elliptical core fibers is presented. Curves depicting the variation of the normalised modal spot sizes (along the major and minor axes) of step and parabolic index fibers with the normalized frequency are given. The variation of spot size noncircularity with core noncircularity is shown to match well with some recent experimental result. The analysis is used to calculate various splice losses at a joint between two elliptical core fibers and compared with the available experimental results.  相似文献
