用原子力显微镜对三种不同粗糙度的随机散射屏的表面形貌进行了测量分析,发现它们在短程范围内具有明显的分形特征.对于粗糙度较大和较小的散射屏,分形特征分别以无规则的 高度调制和无特征大小的小颗粒的形式存在.用自仿射分形表面模型对散射屏的统计特性进 行了描述和拟合.光散射测量发现,散射光强在远轴区域按负幂函数下降,理论分析证明这 源于表面的分形结构;在近轴区域有散射亮环存在,用自仿射分形表面模型尚不能给出理论解释. 关键词: 随机散射屏 光散射 自仿射分形表面  相似文献

基于分形几何学,研究了表面粗糙度的分形特征.采用Weierstrass- Mandelbrot函数对多尺度自仿射的表面粗糙度进行了描述;建立了微通道内层流流动的三维模型并对表面粗糙度的影响进行了数值模拟,分析了雷诺数、相对粗糙度和分形维数对流动阻力特性的影响.研究结果表明,与常规尺度通道不同,粗糙微通道的Poiseuille数不再是常数,而是随雷诺数近似线性增加;相对粗糙度越大,流动产生的回流和分离所导致的流动压降越明显.在相同的相对粗糙度下,粗糙表面的分形维数越大,表面轮廓变化就越频繁,这也将导致流动阻 关键词: 粗糙度 层流阻力系数 微通道 分形  相似文献

Discrete dislocation plasticity was used to analyse plane-strain indentation of a single-crystal elastic–plastic semi-infinite medium by a rigid surface exhibiting multi-scale roughness, characterised by self-affine (fractal) behaviour. Constitutive rules of dislocation emission, glide and annihilation were used to model short-range dislocation interactions. Dislocation multiplication and the development of subsurface shear stresses due to asperity microcontacts forming between a single-crystal medium and a rough surface were examined in terms of surface roughness and topography (fractal) parameters, slip-plane direction and spacing, dislocation source density, and contact load (surface interference). The effect of multi-scale interactions between asperity microcontacts on plasticity is elucidated in light of results showing the evolution of dislocation structures. Numerical solutions yield insight into plastic flow of crystalline materials in normal contact with surfaces exhibiting multi-scale roughness.  相似文献

Superhydrophobic surfaces, with a liquid contact angle theta greater than 150 degrees , have important practical applications ranging from self-cleaning window glasses, paints, and fabrics to low-friction surfaces. Many biological surfaces, such as the lotus leaf, have a hierarchically structured surface roughness which is optimized for superhydrophobicity through natural selection. Here we present a molecular dynamics study of liquid droplets in contact with self-affine fractal surfaces. Our results indicate that the contact angle for nanodroplets depends strongly on the root-mean-square surface roughness amplitude but is nearly independent of the fractal dimension D(f) of the surface.  相似文献

Adhesion between an elastic body and a randomly rough hard surface   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
I have developed a theory of adhesion between an elastic solid and a hard randomly rough substrate. The theory takes into account that partial contact may occur between the solids on all length scales. I present numerical results for the case where the substrate surface is self-affine fractal. When the fractal dimension is close to 2, complete contact typically occurs in the macro-asperity contact areas, while when the fractal dimension is larger than 2.5, the area of (apparent) contact decreases continuously when the magnification is increased. An important result is that even when the surface roughness is so high that no adhesion can be detected in a pull-off experiment, the area of real contact (when adhesion is included) may still be several times larger than when the adhesion is neglected. Since it is the area of real contact which determines the sliding friction force, the adhesion interaction may strongly affect the friction force even when no adhesion can be detected in a pull-off experiment. A fractal dimension for roughness height (RH) is introduced to characterize the degree of roughness or disorder of particle surface characters which significantly influence physical-chimerical processes in porous media. An analytical expression for the fractal dimension of RH on statistically self-similar fractal surfaces is derived and is expressed as a function of roughness parameters. The specific surface area (SSA) of porous materials with spherical particles is also derived, and the proposed fractal model for the SSA of particles with rough surfaces is expressed as a function of fractal dimension for RH and fractal dimension for particle size distribution, relative roughness of particle surface, and ratio of the minimum to the maximum particle diameters of spherical particles.  相似文献

The growth of objects with rough surfaces is a common phenomenon. We describe several models used in the study of the temporal evolution of fluctuating interfaces and then we explain the dynamical scaling in this class of growth models with self-affine surfaces. The recent progress in this field is reviewed. Much emphasis is put on roughness properties and in particular on a possible kinetic roughening transition — a nonequilibrium analog of the thermal roughening transition. Both analytical and numerical results for scaling exponents are summarized and indications of a phase transition in some models are discussed.  相似文献

We study the properties of the intensity profiles scattered from the self-affine fractal random surfaces. Weuse the mathematical decay function to approximate the duple negative exponent function in the rigorous theory ofscattering, by letting them have the same maximum value and half-width, and the expression for the half-widths of theintensity profiles in the whole range of the perpendicular wave vector component is obtained. The previous results in thetwo extreme cases are included in the results of this paper. In the simulational verification, we propose a method for thegeneration of self-affine fractal random surfaces, using the square-root of Fourier transform of the correlation function ofthe surface height. In this study microstructural and roughness characterization of surface of aluminium foils used in lithographic printing process was performed by contact and non-contact profilometric methods and fractal analysis. Significant differences in roughness parameters values inferred from stylus method in respect to those inferred from the non-contact measurements were observed. The investigation of correlation between various fractal dimensions obtained from gray-scale SEM micrographs and binary images resulting from median filtering of the original SEM micrographs as well as selected relevant roughness parameters shows that there is a strong correlation between certain roughness parameters and particular fractal dimensions. This correlations permit better physical understanding of fractal characteristics and interpretation of the dynamics of surface roughness change through processing. Generally these correlations are more suitable for parameters obtained by stylus method than those inferred from the laser-based measurements.  相似文献

By use of a numerical calculation based on Green's integral equation, we study the near-field speckles produced by the random self-affine fractal surfaces of a dielectric medium. The speckle intensities evolve considerably in the near-field region, and the local fluctuations in them disappear before they have traversed the distance of a wavelength. The transition of the speckle contrast either on the surface or in the near field and in the neighborhood non-near-field regions depends on lateral correlation length xi and roughness exponent alpha of the random surfaces.  相似文献

This paper studies the correlation properties of the speckles in the deep Fresnel diffraction region produced by the scattering of rough self-affine fractal surfaces. The autocorrelation function of the speckle intensities is formulated by the combination of the light scattering theory of Kirchhoff approximation and the principles of speckle statistics. We propose a method for extracting the three surface parameters, i.e. the roughness w, the lateral correlation length ξ and the roughness exponent α, from the autocorrelation functions of speckles. This method is verified by simulating the speckle intensities and calculating the speckle autocorrelation function. We also find the phenomenon that for rough surfaces with α= 1, the structure of the speckles resembles that of the surface heights, which results from the effect of the peak and the valley parts of the surface, acting as micro-lenses converging and diverging the light waves.  相似文献

以6种具有典型特征的生成元构造了6个具有相同rms粗糙度的规则表面,用变分法计算了这些表面的分形维数,结果表明,分形维数可以将具有相同rms粗糙度的表面区分开来,它定量表征了表面的总体形貌。进一步将多重分形的方法应用到对这些表面的分析中,发现多重分形谱可以全面反映表面概率的分布特征。多重分形谱的宽度可以定量表征表面的起伏程度,多重分形谱最大、最小概率子集维数的差别可以统计表面最大、最小概率处的数目比例。 关键词: 粗糙度 分形维数 多重分形谱  相似文献

We analyze the surface morphology of metals after plastic deformation over a range of scales from 10 nm to 2 mm using atomic force microscopy and scanning white-light interferometry. We demonstrate that an initially smooth surface during deformation develops self-affine roughness over almost 4 orders of magnitude in scale. The Hurst exponent H of one-dimensional surface profiles initially decreases with increasing strain and then stabilizes at H approximately 0.75. We show that the profiles can be mathematically modeled as graphs of a fractional Brownian motion. Our findings can be understood in terms of a fractal distribution of plastic strain within the deformed samples.  相似文献

The diffusive motion of Brownian particles near irregular interfaces plays a crucial role in various transport phenomena in nature and industry. Most diffusion-reaction processes in confining interfacial systems involve a sequence of Brownian flights in the bulk, connecting successive hits with the interface (Brownian bridges). The statistics of times and displacements separating two interface encounters are then determinant in the overall transport. We present a theoretical and numerical analysis of this complex first-passage problem. We show that the bridge statistics is directly related to the Minkowski content of the surface within the usual diffusion length. In the case of self-similar or self-affine interfaces, we show and check numerically that the bridge statistics follows power laws with exponents depending directly on the surface fractal dimension.  相似文献

A Monte Carlo method is presented for simulating rough surfaces with the fractal behavior. The simulation is based on power-law size distribution of asperity diameter and self-affine property of roughness on surfaces. A probability model based on random number for asperity sizes is developed to generate the surfaces. By iteration, this method can be used to simulate surfaces that exhibit the aforementioned properties. The results indicate that the variation of the surface topography is related to the effects of scaling constant G and the fractal dimension D of the profile of rough surface. The larger value of D or smaller value of G signifies the smoother surface topography. This method may have the potential in prediction of the transport properties (such as friction, wear, lubrication, permeability and thermal or electrical conductivity, etc.) on rough surfaces.  相似文献

There is no simple theory at present to predict accurately the decay of pull-off in the adhesion of randomly rough surfaces. The asperity model of Fuller and Tabor has shown significant error in recent numerical investigations by Pastewka and Robbins of self-affine random roughness from micrometer to atomic scale which corresponds to low values of Tabor parameter. For sinusoidal contact, the Johnson parameter, originally introduced for the JKR regime (from Johnson-Kendall-Roberts) is the dominant parameter ruling the pull-off at intermediate Tabor values. Hence, we define a generalized Johnson parameter as the ratio between the adhesive energy to the elastic strain energy to flatten the surface in the case of multiscale roughness and find that it correlates very well with the data of Pastewka and Robbins spanning almost five orders of magnitude of reduction from theoretical strength, improving significantly with respect to other possible single parameter criteria. For the most important case in practice, that of low fractal dimensions, this suggests the product of amplitude and slope of the largest wavelength components of roughness dominate pull-off decay, and not small scales features like slopes and curvatures, as suggested by Pastewka and Robbins.  相似文献
