The results of experimental studies on the nonlinear elastic properties of a planar interface between two media are presented—an optically polished glass substrate and flat samples with different degrees of roughness. The nonlinear elastic properties of the interfaces between two media were investigated by the spectral method using surface acoustic waves (SAWs). The effect of external pressure applied to the interface on the efficiency of the generation of the second SAW harmonic was studied. Using the measured amplitudes of the first and second harmonics of the SAW that passes along the interface, the second-order nonlinear acoustic parameter was calculated as a function of the external pressure applied to the sample at a fixed amplitude of a probing wave. It was revealed that the nonlinear parameter of the SAW is a nonmonotonic function of the pressure at the boundary. The results were analyzed on the basis of an elastic contact nonlinearity, and it is concluded that these results can be used in nondestructive testing for roughness and waviness of surfaces of flat solids.  相似文献

We have studied the influence of external static (pressure) and dynamic (caused by an elastic wave with a finite amplitude) actions on the linear and nonlinear elastic properties of a granulated unconsolidated medium, which was simulated by steel spheres with diameters of 2 and 4 mm. We have analyzed the equation of state for such a medium taking into account the presence of weakly and strongly deformed contacts between individual spheres. We have obtained expressions for the elasticity coefficient and second- and third-order nonlinear elastic parameters, and we have experimentally studied the influence of external static pressure on their values. We have measured the dependence of the velocity of elastic waves on external static pressure and the probing signal amplitude. In the studied medium, a number of structural phase transitions were observed, related to rearrangement of the packing of spheres, which were caused by both static and dynamic actions. The structural phase transition was accompanied by an anomalous change in the nonlinear elastic parameters of the medium and the velocity of elastic waves. We have analyzed the results based on the Hertz theory of contact interaction.  相似文献

提出了一种基于等效弹性模量的微裂纹-超声波非线性作用多阶段模型.该模型将微裂纹微观层面的界面几何特征和宏观层面的界面相对运动统一为介观单元弹性模量的变化,利用等效弹性模量表征损伤区域的"应力-应变",然后利用分段函数来描述微裂纹-超声波非线性相互作用,最后通过有限元仿真对波动方程进行求解,验证了模型的有效性,获得了超声波在经过微裂纹后传播的非线性波动规律.仿真结果表明本文提出的模型相比于双线性刚度模型、接触面模型,能更好地体现一个谐波周期内超声波经过微裂纹损伤区域时波形会发生畸变.同时,仿真实验还分析了裂纹倾角、裂纹长度和超声波激励幅值对超声波经过微裂纹后产生的二次和三次谐波的幅值的影响.最后,对比分析了该模型的仿真计算结果与实验测试结果,表明本文提出的多阶段模型与实验测试均能较好地体现微裂纹-超声波非线性作用产生的二次谐波信号,且结果基本一致,验证了模型的有效性.该模型为开展超声波非线性效应定量检测微裂纹提供了一种新的仿真手段.  相似文献

Using the method of the parameter expansion up to the third order, explicitly investigates surface tension effect on harmonics at weakly nonlinear stage in Rayleigh-Taylor instability (RTI) for arbitrary Atwood numbers and compares the results with those of classical RTI within the framework of the third-order weakly nonlinear theory. It is found that surface tension strongly reduces the linear growth rate of time, resulting in mild growth of the amplitude of the fundamental mode, and changes amplitudes of the second and third harmonics, as is expressed as a tension factor coupling in amplitudes of the harmonics. On the one hand, surface tension can either decrease or increase the space amplitude; on the other hand, surface tension can also change their phases for some conditions which are explicitly determined.  相似文献

岩石、混凝土等非线性介观弹性固体材料显示出与经典的非线性声学不同的非经典非线性声学现象,比如滞后现象、离散记忆等。本文实验研究了超声波在岩石材料中产生的基波、二次、三次谐波随声源幅度的依赖关系,研究了岩石的超声衰减,与金属材料的进行了对比;并且将浸水后的混凝土与浸水前的混凝土的超声谐波特性进行了对比,对此实验现象作出了定性的解释。此研究有利于岩石等非线性介观弹性固体材料的无损检测的研究。  相似文献

Nonlinear wave processes in an acoustic rod resonator with hysteretic nonlinearity under harmonic excitation are studied. The characteristics of longitudinal nonlinear modes of the resonator with hard and soft boundaries (amplitude-dependent loss, shifts of resonance frequencies, and amplitudes of the second and third harmonics) are determined. The comparison of the theoretical and experimental dependences of nonlinear acoustic effects in a resonator that is made of annealed polycrystalline copper is used to determine the parameters of the hysteretic nonlinearity.  相似文献

<正>It is known that the strength of concrete is seriously affected by damage and cracking.In this paper,six concrete samples under different damage levels are studied.The experimental results show a linear dependence of the resonance frequency shift on strain amplitude at the fundamental frequency,and approximate quadratic dependence of the amplitudes of the second and third harmonics on strain amplitude at the fundamental frequency as well.In addition,the amplitude of the third harmonics is shown to increase with the increase of damage level,which is even higher than that of the second harmonics in samples with higher damage levels.These are three properties of non-classical nonlinear acoustics.The nonlinear parameters increase from 10~6 to 10~8 with damage level,and are more sensitive to the damage level of the concrete than the linear parameters obtained by using traditional acoustics methods.So,this method based on non-classical nonlinear acoustics may provide a better means of non-destructive testing(NDT) of concrete and other porous materials.  相似文献

Analytical and numerical modeling of the nonlinear interaction of shear wave with a frictional interface is presented. The system studied is composed of two homogeneous and isotropic elastic solids, brought into frictional contact by remote normal compression. A shear wave, either time harmonic or a narrow band pulse, is incident normal to the interface and propagates through the contact. Two friction laws are considered and the influence on interface behavior is investigated: Coulomb's law with a constant friction coefficient and a slip-weakening friction law which involves static and dynamic friction coefficients. The relationship between the nonlinear harmonics and the dissipated energy, and the dependence on the contact dynamics (friction law, sliding, and tangential stress) and on the normal contact stress are examined in detail. The analytical and numerical results indicate universal type laws for the amplitude of the higher harmonics and for the dissipated energy, properly non-dimensionalized in terms of the pre-stress, the friction coefficient and the incident amplitude. The results suggest that measurements of higher harmonics can be used to quantify friction and dissipation effects of a sliding interface.  相似文献

The characteristic features of the propagation of finite-amplitude elastic waves in a model one-dimensional unconsolidated granular medium are investigated. The model medium is represented by a linear chain of 80 steel balls with a diameter of 6.5 mm each, this chain being preliminarily loaded with an external static force F. The elastic properties of the model are analyzed. The theoretical dependences of the coefficients of elasticity of the second, third, and fourth orders on the force F are obtained. The experimental setup is described. The results of studying the nonlinear effects, namely, the higher harmonic generation and the wave generation at combination frequencies, which accompany the acoustic wave propagation in the chain, are presented. For the chain of balls under study, a structural phase transition from the 1D structure to a 2D one is observed with an increase in the external compression force F applied to the balls. The results of the study are analyzed using the Hertz theory of contact interactions.  相似文献

By the results of experimental measurements of the Lamb wave’s amplitude at the fundamental frequency and its second and third harmonics, the spatial distributions of the quadratic and cubic nonlinear acoustic parameters in a thin circular plate of D16 polycrystalline aluminum alloy with defects were calculated. A theoretical explanation is proposed for the experimental results on the behavior of higher harmonics of the granular HTSC response to a variable magnetic field of frequencies ~102 Hz. The theory explains the periodicity in the dependence of the harmonics amplitudes on a static external magnetic field; the dependence of the period on the harmonics number and on the amplitude of the variable magnetic field; the existence of the threshold in the dependence of the odd-harmonics amplitudes on the amplitude of the variable magnetic field; and the possible formation of pairs for these dependences for the neighboring odd harmonics. It is shown that the experimental dependences can be explained without a detailed analysis of microprocesses in individual Josephson loops only by treating HTSC as a macroscopic medium characterized by the dependence Φ(H) of the magnetic flux on the external magnetic field, which is typical of type II superconductors.  相似文献

将弹性管壁视为膜弹性结构, 探索在外部声场作用下弹性微管内液柱-气泡-管壁构成耦合振动系统的非线性特征. 利用逐级近似法对系统非线性共振频率、基频和三倍频振动幅值响应、 分频激励共振机理等进行了理论分析. 基频和三倍频振动的幅-频响应数值结果表明: 气泡的轴向共振和管壁共振不能同时出现; 两垂直方向的振动均表现出幅值响应多值性, 进而可能引起系统的不稳定声响应; 三倍频振动在低频区的声响应强于高频区. 关键词: 弹性微管 受迫振动 非线性振动 气泡声响应  相似文献

The results of a study on the influence of the nonparabolicity of the free carriers dispersion law on the propagation of surface polaritons (SPs) located near the interface between an n-type semiconductor and a metal arc reported. The semiconductor plasma is assumed to be warm and nonisothermal. The nonparabolicity of the electron dispersion law has two effects. The first one is associated with nonlinear self-interaction of the SPs. The nonlinear dispersion equation and the nonlinear Schrodinger equation for the amplitude of the SP envelope are obtained. The nonlinear evolution of the SP is studied on the base of the above mentioned equations. The second effect results in third harmonics generation. Analysis shows that these third harmonics may appear as a pure surface polariton, a pseudosurface polariton, or a superposition of a volume wave and a SP depending on the wave frequency, electron density and lattice dielectric constant.  相似文献

The ratio of amplitudes of waves generated by different interfaces in stratified inhomogeneous liquid is analytically studied. The amplitudes of waves generated by the second interface depend on the initial conditions and can be greater or less than the amplitudes of waves generated by the third interface. The amplitude ratio of the external and internal waves significantly depends on the ratio of liquid densities and layer thicknesses. Substantial effect of the initial conditions is manifested as a variation in the ratio of the amplitudes of external and internal waves and the amplitude ratio of waves generated by different interfaces.  相似文献

An estimation methodology for amplitude from the fundamental to fourth-order harmonic composed of nonlinear surface acoustic waves on a LiNbO3 substrate with a 128° Y-X propagation axis was demonstrated. First, equations for estimation of amplitudes from diffracted light intensity were shown and then numerical simulations of main factors were carried out. Normalized diffraction light intensities due to components of nonlinear surface acoustic waves were measured and their amplitudes were obtained from measured values. Finally, the amplitude of the second harmonic propagating on a gold thin film of about 50 nm thickness was estimated. It was found that the amplitude of the second harmonic increased continuously from 0.8 to 2.0 Å with propagation distance in the thin film.  相似文献

非线性声波方程的传统二次谐波二阶近似解不够精确,对测量材料的非线性系数造成较大误差。利用摄动法展开非线性声波方程得到一系列非齐次偏微分方程,根据低阶解的性质拟定高阶特解的形式,通过符号计算求出高次谐波特解,对所有二次谐波成分求和最终获得二次谐波的高阶近似解。在水中开展非线性声学实验验证高阶近似解,结果表明:二次谐波相对幅度随传播距离和输入信号均呈现先增加后减小的趋势,高阶近似解即使在传播距离不太短和输入信号不太弱的宽泛条件下也能更好地吻合实验结果。得到的高阶近似解不仅弥补了现有二次谐波幅度理论公式的不足,进行非线性声学实验时还可扩展测量范围,充分利用实验数据也能提高非线性系数的测量精度。   相似文献

We study experimentally the behavior of a nonlinear element, a light plate pressed to the opening in the cavity of an acoustic resonator. Measurements of field oscillations inside and outside the cavity have shown that for large amplitudes, they become essentially anharmonic. The time dependences of displacement of the plate with increasing amplitude of the exciting voltage demonstrates a gradual change in the shape of vibrations from harmonic to half-period oscillation. A constant component appears in the cavity: rarefaction or outflow of the medium through the orifice. We construct a theory for nonlinear oscillations of a plate taking into account its different elastic reactions to compression and rarefaction with allowance for monopole radiation by the small-wave-size plate or radiation of a plane wave by the plate. We calculate the amplitudes of the harmonics and solve the problem of low-frequency stationary noise acting on the plate. We obtain expressions for the correlation function and mean power at the output given a normal random process at the input.  相似文献
