This paper deals with the transmission of acoustic waves through multilayered piezoelectric materials. It is modeled in an octet formalism via the hybrid matrix of the structure. The theoretical evolution with the angle and frequency of the transmission coefficients of ultrasonic plane waves propagating through a partially depoled PZT plate is compared to finite element calculations showing that both methods are in very good agreement. The model is then used to study a periodic stack of 0.65PMN-0.35PT/0.90PMN-0.10PT layers. The transmission spectra are interpreted in terms of a dispersive behavior of the critical angles of longitudinal and transverse waves, and band gap structures are analysed. Transmission measurements confirm the theoretical calculations and deliver an experimental validation of the model.  相似文献

Transmission of an electromagnetic wave from a heavily doped n-type GaAs film is studied theoretically. The calculations are performed using the two-dimensional finite-different time-domain method. From the calculations, we find the extraordinary transmission of p-polarized waves through the film with subwavelength grooves on both surfaces at mid-infrared frequencies. By determining a set of groove parameters, we optimize the transmission to as high as 55.2%. We ascribe this extraordinary transmission to the coupling of the surface-plasmon polariton modes and waveguide modes. Such an enhanced transmission device can be useful for mid-infrared wave filters, emitters, and monitors.  相似文献

A method for the inversion of block tridiagonal matrices encountered in electronic structure calculations is developed, with the goal of efficiently determining the matrices involved in the Fisher–Lee relation for the calculation of electron transmission coefficients. The new method leads to faster transmission calculations compared to traditional methods, as well as freedom in choosing alternate Green’s function matrix blocks for transmission calculations. The new method also lends itself to calculation of the tridiagonal part of the Green’s function matrix. The effect of inaccuracies in the electrode self-energies on the transmission coefficient is analyzed and reveals that the new algorithm is potentially more stable towards such inaccuracies.  相似文献

The calculations of Huang and Reiss for the power spectrum of a pulse code modulation message is here extended, corrected, and generalized to include a formalism for an arbitrary Markovian process. The formalism contains arbitrary pulse shape and transmission times. For a first-order Markovian message the importance of the quasidiscrete frequencies is emphasized and it is concluded that these frequencies are more significant in defining the necessary bandwidth for transmission than any “optimized” choice of transmission times.  相似文献

The parameters controlling power transmission from a vibrating machine to the seating structure, via spring-like vibration isolators, are investigated. The low frequency range is considered where the machine moves as a rigid body. It is shown that the finite seating structure can be modelled by an equivalent structure of infinite extent for frequency averaged power transmission calculations. Power transmission to a finite and an infinite beam via a mass and spring in series is measured experimentally and compared with theoretical predictions. The power transmission is measured by two proposed methods; the first involves the real component of the seating impedance, and the second the transfer impedance of the isolator.  相似文献

The diffraction of obliquely incident light by single nanoholes in thin gold and silver films is studied using dark-field microspectroscopy. The single-hole spectra show a dominant transmission peak in the near infrared. It is considerably red shifted with respect to calculations that assume perfect conduction in the metal and lies at essentially the same spectral position for gold and silver. The diffracted intensity at the transmission peak shows a pronounced dependence on light polarization, being significantly higher for p-polarized than s-polarizedlight. This difference is in qualitative agreement with the results of the calculations. Surprisingly, we find no such difference at wavelengths immediately below that of the transmission peak. This paper has made a theoretical study of enhanced transmission through a gold grating with arrays of subwavelength slits filled with nonlinear Kerr medium. The results of the research are based on rigorous finite-difference time domain calculations. Based on the Boit theory of acoustic wave propagation in fluid-satu-rated porous medium we have studied in this paper the acoustic reflection andtransmission on multilayered porous media,in which the adequate boundaryconditions across the interfaces are taken into account.Numerical calculationsof the reflection and transmission coefficients at different incident angles andfrequencies of the fast compressional wave incident on porous media with threeor four layers are presented.The results indicate that the maximum or mini-mum reflection and transmission coefficients appear at certain ratios of thewavelength to the thickness.The acoustic incident angle and porous mediumproperties are shown to affect significantly these coefficients.As an example,the measured transmission coefficients in a water-saturated fused glass beadsample are in good agreement with theoretical prediction.  相似文献

Diffraction of a spatially inhomogeneous X-ray wave was theoretically studied in a crystal with cubic nonlinear response to the strength of an external electric field. Using numerical calculations in case of two-beam diffraction of a narrow incident beam, the intensity distributions on the output surface of the crystal was investigated depending on the thickness and intensity of the incident beam. The results of numerical calculations of integral (spatial) coefficients of transmission and reflection are given as functions of incident wave intensity for fixed thickness of the crystal.  相似文献

An original mathematical model of the interaction of terahertz (THz) electromagnetic waves with periodic gratings of graphene micro- and nanoribbons is based on the solution to the boundary-value problem of diffraction for the Maxwell equations with electrodynamic boundary conditions and material equations. The electrodynamic calculations of the transmission coefficients of the TEM wave versus frequency are performed for the 2D grating of graphene micro- and nanoribbons at several chemical potentials, grating periods, and geometrical sizes of ribbons. The results of the calculations show that the transmission spectrum exhibits a minimum in the THz range if the electric field of the wave is perpendicular to the graphene ribbons. The minimum is due to the plasmon resonance of the fundamental mode in graphene, and the absorption peaks at higher frequencies in the upper part of the THz range are related to the highorder plasmon modes.  相似文献

The transmission of infrared electromagnetic waves through quasi-homogeneous thin metal films is investigated within the diagonal response approximation. An expression for the dielectric function is derived in the framework of the finite-depth potential well model with due regard for the size dependence of the Fermi energy. The rigorous analytical solutions and the ABCD matrix of the lossy Cosine-Squared tapered nonuniform transmission lines (CSTNTL) are presented in this paper. According to different boundary conditions, the unique solution is obtained mathematically. Through the numerical calculations based on analytical solutions, the distributed voltages and currents in different terminated cases are shown to explain the transmission characteristics of CSTNTL. The morphology of WC grains is examined by ab initio calculations, and by transmission electron microscopy in a WC-Co cemented carbide. Two compositions are studied to determine the effect of carbon chemical potential on the shape development. The WC grains are found to be truncated triangles, and the grain morphology is adequately reproduced by the ab initio calculations. The energy difference between the two types of grain facets is shown to be due to the formation of stronger bonds with more covalent character between low coordinated W and Co atoms at one type of facet.  相似文献

The effect of anomalously high transmission of an electromagnetic wave through a periodic array of subwavelength slits in a metal film was studied. Results of numerical simulation were compared with theoretical and semi-analytical calculations of anomalous transmission through a silver film. Transmission through a perfectly conductive metal film with subwavelength slits was considered; anomalous transmission through it was detected.  相似文献

A version of Geant4 has been developed to treat high-energy proton radiography. This article presents the results of calculations simulating the effects of nuclear elastic scattering for various test step wedges. Comparisons with experimental data are also presented. The traditional expressions of the transmission should be correct if the angle distribution of the scattering is Gaussian multiple Coulomb scattering. The mean free path(which depends on the collimator angle) and the radiation length are treated as empirical parameters, according to transmission as a function of thickness obtained by simulations. The results can be used in density reconstruction, which depends on the transmission expressions.  相似文献

High resolution band-model parameters are presented for the 4.3 μm CO2 band from 200 to 3000°K. Comparisons are made to experimental data covering this same temperature range. The band model predictions and data are shown to be in good agreement. Application of the band model parameters to plume emission and atmospheric absorption calculations in the CO2 fundamental band head region (2380–2400 cm-1) is discussed. Line-by-line and band-model plume signature predictions are compared for an aircraft and a rocket plume over 0, 0.5, and 5 km atmospheric paths. The line-by-line and band-model predictions for the 0 and 0.5 km paths are in good agreement. For the 5 km path, the band-model overestimates the atmospheric transmission by a factor of two. The reason for this overprediction is discussed and a correction is presented which improves the accuracy of the band-model transmission calculations.  相似文献

Reflection and transmission of radiation with anisotropic scattering in considered, using an invariant-imbedding formulation of the transport equation. Extensive numerical calculations show that the results of the transport approximation, in which the scattering kernel is represented by an isotropic part and a forward scattered component, are useful for an isotropic incident source but they are not satisfactory for a monodirectional source, especially in the case of reflection for large and small incident angles. A modified transport approximation is proposed in which singly-scattered radiation is taken into account exactly and higher-order scatterings are obtained from the transport approximation. The results derived from the modified transport approximation are in good agreement with other calculations for the cases considered.  相似文献

本文研究光纤非线性现象之一的四波混频对长距离相干多路光纤传输系统的影响.通过对一条长度为550km,采用9个掺铒光纤放大器的频分复用系统的实验,清楚地观察到了四波混频这一光纤非线性.实验的结果符合对四波混频的理论分析与计算.结果表明:对信息容量在每秒10~9bit数量级,采用常规的不归零码作信号方式的多路传输,光纤中的四波混频现象将严重地影响其传输性能.  相似文献

The analogy of a vibrating string to an electrical transmission line with the correspondences of the displacement to the voltage and the rigid end to the short circuit and the calculations for the hammer–string force in the well known finite difference form of the wave equation for a struck string are applied to build a transmission line based struck string model. The proposed model is validated by showing that the displacements and the forces exerted on the string at the contact with a hammer from the proposed model are consistent with those from the finite difference form.  相似文献
